Lyra Smith wanted to say more, "Sir, I..."
"You can leave now," Morris Jackson said.
Confused by Morris Jackson's attitude, Lyra wondered if he had recognized her and was still angry and thus didn't want to interact with her. Fearing she might infuriate him further, she reluctantly returned to Gregory Smith's side.
Gregory grabbed her and led her away.
With a despondent expression, Lyra asked, "What are we doing? Where are we going?"
Gregory replied, "I'm taking you to meet someone."
"Who are we going to meet?"
"You'll know when we get there."
Lyra was utterly mystified. She had no idea where Gregory was taking her. At some point, in a deserted location, he removed his mask. Seeing him take it off, Lyra asked, "Should I take mine off too?"
"Take it off once we are inside."
"Where are we going? Why should I take it off then?"
Gregory ruffled her hair, "Since you've come to Gambling City, it's only natural to meet him."
"An old man?" Lyra was even more confused.
