Those short four words made Lyra Smith feel like a feather had grazed her heart, causing it to tremble.
She glanced at the instant noodles next to her and replied, "I, I'm about to eat them."
She wanted to be more assertive, but she just couldn't be whenever she heard Morris Jackson's voice.
"Why didn't you answer the phone earlier?" he asked, his tone the same as before.
Lyra thought to herself why she had to answer him, but her mouth honestly responded, "It was on silent, I didn't notice, I was just about to use my phone when I saw your call."
She lied quite fluently.
Regardless of whether Morris believed her or not, just appeasing him would suffice.
Thinking this, she lifted the lid of her instant noodles and stirred them with a fork. They smelled divine.
Morris Jackson: "Lyra, I'm downstairs at your place."
Without thinking, Lyra replied, "My home is sealed off, Uncle Five, you should turn back. I can't even get in, so I can't entertain you."
