Chapter 8 - This man loves her very much_1

Morris Jackson had a delighted smile on his face, a clear indication of his good mood at the moment.

As if he had just teased a cute little bunny whose scared reaction had given him particular satisfaction.

About ten minutes later, the car slowly entered Crane Pavilion Villa.

The Smith family lived in Crane Pavilion Villa.

Seeing that the car was about to drive towards the Smith Family Villa, Lyra Smith began to panic and hurriedly shouted, "Secretary Ivan! Secretary Ivan!"

Ivan slowed down and said, "Miss Smith, please speak."

Lyra leaned forward, putting her hand on the passenger seat: "We are not far from my house, you can walk there, you are also in a hurry, there is no need to send me right to the door, you can just stop here."

It wasn't really an inconvenience to her, she was afraid.

If her parents found out that Morris Jackson's car had delivered her to the door, she couldn't explain it clearly even if she had ten mouths to talk.

Although Ivan slowed down, he could only obey Mr. Jackson and did not agree to stop.

As a salaried worker, he was afraid of offending Mr. Jackson and the future Mrs. Jackson. What if she held a grudge against him for not stopping today and influenced Mr. Jackson against him?!

Being a salaried worker is so hard!

"Uncle Morris..."

Seeing the car was not stopping and realizing that Secretary Ivan only listened to Morris Jackson, Lyra looked at Morris Jackson with pitiful eyes.

But, Morris Jackson ignored her this time.

Left with no choice while the car continued to head towards her home, Lyra didn't care about her dignity and grabbed the corner of Morris Jackson's suit: "Uncle Morris, can you ask Ivan to stop, please?"

"Who are you begging?" He glanced at her.

Lyra: "Pl...Please, Uncle Morris."

Morris Jackson: "Say it again."

Lyra frowned: "Please."

Just then, Ivan suddenly slammed on the brakes.

Lyra, only holding the edge of Morris Jackson's suit and keeping a distance from him, was thrown forward by the sudden stop, and her head went straight into the back of the seat.

She hadn't buckled her seat belt, nor did she expect Ivan to slam on the brakes so suddenly.

She expected to be embarrassed.

However, at that moment, she felt a strong force around her waist, a big hand firmly pulling her back.

By the time she came back to her senses, she was sitting on Morris Jackson's lap, her back leaning against his chest in an ambiguous position.

Her heart was beating wildly, and she heard Morris Jackson asking her: "Did you hit anywhere?"

Lyra turned around and found Morris Jackson's face magnified in front of her.

She was stunned for about five seconds, and then she slowly moved back and answered: "No, I didn't hit anywhere."

His hand was still on her waist, gripping her tight to prevent her from moving back: "Do you want to fall off?"

Lyra wanted to speak, but her voice was choked. At her most embarrassing moment, her eyes suddenly fell on the shallow red scratches on his neck. Her mind suddenly filled with images from last night, her cheeks turned red, and she instantly moved to the side.

Returning to her original position, she couldn't help but feel a little angry while also confused about Morris Jackson's recent attitude.

It was seriously ambiguous!

Ivan parked the car smoothly and turned to say, "I apologize, Miss Smith, a child ran across the road just now. Are you okay?"

Lyra didn't see what had happened, so she simply accepted Ivan's explanation, "I'm okay."

Morris Jackson glanced at her, reminding her, "Don't you want to get out of the car?"

Lyra, albeit slow to react, swore she's only like this in front of Morris Jackson and that she's normally very sharp.

Having exited the car and about to close the door,

"Lyra."

Morris Jackson called out to her, his voice so gentle that Lyra heard a lingering softness as if he loved her deeply, otherwise he wouldn't call her name so tenderly.

Lyra slapped her head, what on earth is she thinking!

She barely interacted with Morris Jackson, always keeping a distance whenever he was present. Yet, she somehow always ended up seeing him.
