Sophia Jackson immediately chimed in: "The progress bar is already full."
As soon as she said this, it choked Frank Smith up. He coughed forcefully and Sophia pulled out a tissue to hand to him. As he reached for the tissue, she raised her hand, refusing to give it to him. "Aren't you going to introduce me formally to your mom?"
Frank snatched the tissue: "My mom has known you forever, there's no need for introductions."
Sophia reminded him: "You know what I mean."
Frank had a bewildered face: "...What do you mean?"
Sophia sighed: "Frank, just forget it."
Lyra Smith, who sat across from them, watched the scene with no expression. She and Sophia had been best friends for years, and she knew her well. Except for being timid in front of her uncle, Sophia was usually quite proud outside of the family.
