Lyra stood in front of him.
Morris asked slowly, "Do you know why I came back two days early?"
Lyra blurted out the first thing that came to her mind, "Caught cheating?"
Morris clenched his jaw, his face serious, "Are you trying to provoke me?"
Lyra held the small bamboo steamer in her hands, leaned her head against Morris's arm and said, "No, I'm just not good with words."
Morris furrowed his brows, pushing her away bit by bit.
From Lyra's perspective, he was still angry.
"Uncle, do I look like the kind of woman Pan Jinlian is?" Lyra regretted her words as soon as they left her mouth. It was just a metaphor, but then she remembered who Pan Jinlian's husband was, took one look at Uncle's dark face, and quickly tried to appease him, "What I meant was, I'm not like Pan Jinlian at all, and would never do anything to betray you."
Morris's clenched jaw relaxed slightly, "I guess I'll believe you for now."
