"Lyra Smith returned to her own bedroom.
She was up so early today, only for it to be a waste of time. As soon as she got back and hit the bed, she began to feel sleepy.
She wanted to take a nap, but she had to call Martin Jenkins first. Whether he would pick up was down to luck. And as she was looking for his number in her contact list, he unexpectedly called her instead!
Was he calling to chew her out for not showing up at the set?
"Lyra, where are you?" Martin asked, his tone surprisingly gentle.
Lyra said, "I went to the set, but Master Eddie said they were not short of people, so I came back."
Surely the set was short-staffed, but Martin wouldn't tell her what role to prepare for. Previously, she would have tried to fight for it. But now, she had lost interest. The entertainment industry was a pit, and being at the mercy of others' moods was tiring. After all, Lyra herself was from a wealthy family. Why would she work so hard to exhaust herself?
