The last hand was a flush, and this one was a straight flush. What luck! Tonight was just a casual game, after all, the gambling city was only hosting a banquet.
If Lyra brought this luck to a high-stakes table, she could clean everyone out.
"Lyra, you're incredible!" Hector praised her.
The others at the table kept glancing at Lyra. No one had expected the woman they thought was just a pretty face to become a heroine upon entering her home field. Everyone was impressed whether it be by her courage or her luck.
"Hector."
Morris Jackson's voice came out.
Hector promptly turned around. Lyra was too engrossed in stacking her chips to hear, her mind was occupied with playing cards and she momentarily forgot what she ought to do.
Such are the perils of gambling.
Hector patted Lyra's shoulder: "I'm stepping out for a bit, you keep playing."
The dealer had already begun to deal the next hand, Lyra nodded without raising her head.
