chapter 13) war start)
Henry Bowles goes to his Father David and tells him that the enemy group is coming towards him to seek revenge for the two men that Henry Bowles killed. David's expression changes when he realizes what he's talking about. He nods at the boy, encouraging him to continue to talk. Henry takes a deep breath before speaking again, this time more softly, "They're gonna kill us all if we don't run fast." He states with furrowed eyebrows. David nods as he puts the pieces of the puzzle together. He stands up and makes his way toward the car.
"Get in." He says to Henry. Henry climbs into the car before taking a seat beside his Dad. He places his elbows on his knees, rests his chin in his hands, and stares out the window.
David drives quickly down the road away from the camp, trying to keep his mind off Henry's words and his conversation with Regina. His thoughts wander to his younger daughter, Emma Swan, who had always been more than supportive towards him, and how he has failed her. He couldn't protect his children, and now they were both dead because of him. There was no doubt that the enemy group wanted to get their revenge, and there was absolutely nothing that he could say or do to stop it, but he'd rather deal with death before having his own children taken away from him.
"We'll make it." Henry states confidently as he glances at David.
David nods but says nothing and keeps driving. He drives a few miles before stopping on a random deserted road. He turns the car off and turns to look at his son before saying, "Son, I need you to stay in here. Stay in my trunk and stay low. Do not let anyone else see you. Do you understand?"
Henry Bowles : are you telling me to leave you are my group just because of a small group of survivors wanting revenge? What about everyone else? They want to see me die, but not like this! And why does it matter if they see me dead, when they can see it in the newspaper! Why can't they see that I'm doing everything in my power to keep your family safe, instead of making sure that they're not dead? Why can' they see that I care about them?
"Of course," Henry responds as he closes his eyes and leans back against the back of his seat, waiting for what's going to happen.
Henry Bowles picking up the knife is looking at your father is starting to talk
Henry Bowles: dad a war is about to start yeah you took me down this road to tell me to go away like a coward but you forgot one thing dad i'm not a coward
Henry Bowles takes the knife and goes towards David, Henry Bowles: the coward here is you David my father who cannot sacrifice a family member for better resources or wars.
David: what are you doing Henry Bowles?
Henry Bowles:creating a new world order
Henry Bowles goes at David with his knife to kill his father David
Henry Bowles: no you've lost too much dad it's not worth it, just give up and let me finish this
Henry Bows at David Bowles
David: son you don't have to do this Henry you can come with me! We'll build a better world here together than we ever have!
Henry Bowles:no dad i'm going to build a better world it's not you.
Henry Bowles attack David, David dodge the attack but then gets hit in the back and falls forward. Henry walks over to his father and kneels down, putting his knife against his chest, pointing at it.
Henry: i'm sorry dad I can't be a hero you taught me better but that doesn't mean I won')
when Henry Bowles goes to give the final stab, David headbutts Henry Bowles in the face , sending Henry reeling backward. David jumps to his feet and walks towards Henry who lays on the ground. Henry stands up unsteadily, holding the side of his face as blood continues to drip down his cheek and into the palm of his hand. Henry takes a step forward with his knife raised high above his head as he lunges at David. David tries to push Henry away while backing up so that he can get back to the safety of the car. As Henry runs forward David backs up against the vehicle and tries to get out of the way so Henry will not accidentally hit him.
Before Henry can get close enough to grab his dad, Henry Bowles throwing his knife is hitting David on the shoulder who is driving the car and the car is overturning and falling into the lake .
David falls backwards into the water and sinks down to the bottom. Henry watches in horror as his dad disappears under the surface. Henry feels guilty for killing his father and feeling guilt makes him sad and angry. His father has sacrificed his life so that he would live. Henry doesn't want his dad to be sad.
