Curtis
He, like the rest of the crew, hadn't had a wink of sleep the night before and thus would have strolled into the exam hall half asleep for their exams if not for the drug. It frankly had taken a special miracle for him to write his exam without his ind going back to the events they had thought were all over now.
Their past few nights had been too eventful for him, on the first night they had to dispose the body of the kid they killed, the next night was spent mulling over what would happen next after the Chief Inquisitor had disciplined the Princess and was searching for Edward. The next night after that was spent hiding and getting rid of anything that linked them to the murder of Edward and last night had been all about finding out that their problems had only begun, there was indeed no rest for the wicked. Just when they had thought it was all over, Lady Clarence had to make an appearance.
Looking at Dominic, Curtis could not believe that the prince looked as if he had enjoyed his sleep even though Curtis knew that the guy had barely slept; according to the Princess whom he had checked up on by dawn, she had been too nervous to sleep and by extension it meant her dear brother was not going to enjoy his sleep either. This meant that the prince was probably already used to lack of sleep that his body barely gave any sign of needing sleep.
As time ticked from morning which was when their final exams were written, to noon and then dusk, which was the moment the princess would make out with her brother, Curtis was nervous and could not calm down. Over and over his mind kept telling him that the princess didn't have to do this, but what could he do at this point, they were already too invested in hiding their crimes, anything he or anyone else did at this point to undo all of that would render all they had done to this point mute.
"It should be us going through that, not her." Elswyth frantically whispered to him.
"I totally agree, but what do we do? The princess wants to do this in order to protect us, anything we do would upend everything she and the prince have done and that is not something I fantasize myself doing at this point." Curtis said as Elswyth squeezed his hands underneath the table.
Across them was Derek who kept looking at his plate, playing with his food as he ground his teeth in frustration. Derek was in love with the princess, always had been and seeing her being made to ruin herself for them was pretty hard for him to take. While Curtis had spent the night counting sheep and staring at the ceiling of his bed, Derek had spent his turning left and right, disturbing his four roommates who had no worries in the world other than an exam. He knew this courtesy of his roommates who had loudly complained to him as they had bought the drug from him.
As if they had all known the exact time to do as commanded by Lady Clarence, the three of them all turned to look at the Royal Twins who looked quite calm at the prospect of making out in public. He had no idea whether this would be their first time making out together or whether it would be routine by now, but one thing he knew for certain was that this wouldn't ruin what they have. By dawn, the Royal Twins would be as tight as ever, if not tighter seeing as the princess might need her brother's help in order to get back to her feet.
He held his breath as Dominica turned to look at her brother with a little fear but full confidence, Curtis felt his hand get squeezed even tighter by Elswyth but ignored his pain in favour of trying to give his support to the princess who after a moment or two grabbed her brother's face and kissed him.
The kiss began as innocently as he suspected it would begin, before it began to heat up at an alarming rate. A shy kiss had become so hot that the princess left her chair to sit on his laps for more contact and to better feel the kiss which seemed too enthusiastic from where Curtis was sitting.
Around him were dumbstruck teenagers turned adults that all looked at the Royal Twins though a range of emotions, from completely disgusted to very aroused. The range of emotions meant a mixed and confused air of tension as they all witnessed one of the hottest make out session ever, not even he and Elswyth had ever been this passionate. Their passion was too strong and intense, it was as if they were both depending on each other for air and survival. It was so damn wrong it even made him feel aroused.
After a couple of minutes later the Twins slowed down. The Prince who had been glaringly fondling the Princess' ass and hair, slowly let go of her body as their faces parted from one another. They looked each other in the eyes for the longest of moments before something strange happened, the Princess slapped him as hard as possible. In the silent hall, that slap reverberated and made the slap sound even more painful than it probably was. The Prince's head followed the direction of the slap before he looked back up at his sister with no anger in his face, just sadness. Not long after that, the princess got off Dominic's lap in horror and fled the scene.
Dominic looked like a guy who had been properly kissed, with his hair all rough, his tie loosened and his shirt rumpled. He unlike his sister didn't care that the entire room was looking at him in abject horror now that they were no longer horny, in fact he continued eating as if making out with his sister in public and getting hit by her in public for the first time was nothing out of the ordinary; sometimes he wished he could have that kind of calmness that he had. Moments later whispers began to break out among the students as derogatory terms used to describe the prince started going around with them barely insulting the princess' honour, which was a good thing right? After all despite initiating the kiss, the slap she had delivered unto the Prince's face was enough to make them think she was an unwilling participant thus preserving her image. That was pure genius there to be honest, but there was a repercussion; the Prince was being crucified in the Mess Hall.
"Prince Dominic, I advice you to come with me for a little 'chat'." Lady Amanda said as she entered the mess hall, probably alerted the moment the madness begun.
Unbothered by the gravity of her request, Dominic stood up from his chair and followed the Chief Inquisitor out. At her departure, whispers became a full on shouting competition as every single one of them took turns to bury the Prince's reputation even further below its state. That brought a thought to Curtis, perhaps the making out was not to hurt the princess' reputation but it was to destroy Dominic completely and in so doing attract a heavy punishment on the prince which would indirectly hurt Dominica deeply. But hey, who knew what thoughts went between the perverted mind of this Lady Clarence character?
Before he could think on it some more, a paper landed on his table. In wonder, he looked around but didn't find the culprit. "Did you see who dropped this?" He asked Elswyth who looked as heartbroken as Curtis felt.
"No." She replied with a sad sigh.
Opening that the letter he read the words that brought dread to him.
'IT'S YOUR TURN CURTIS,
YOUR TASK IS TO BURN THE LIBRARY TOMORROW WHEN IT IS LIBRARY TIME.
DON'T FORGET, BEING SEEN IS PARAMOUNT.
YOURS TRULY,
LADY CLARENCE.'
