Saivas, upon seeing that he wasn't alone, tried to jump up and take a defensive stance. However when he tired to move, he found he could not.
Not only did the constant pain make it difficult by it's own account, but the child watching over him immediately restrained him.
"Woah woah woah! Daddy said no moving for you! He said you had uh, drama? Karma? Oh yeah, trauma! So you need to rest!" Said the child with a stubborn look on their face.
Taking a look at his current company, Saivas saw a child that couldn't have been too dissimilar in age to himself. Though they were probably a bit older than him, they were still young enough were he couldn't really tell if they were a boy or a girl.
All he knew is that they had short blonde hair, a chubby face, and bright blue eyes which were currently giving him a reprimanding look.
They were dressed in clothes common to low income families. Looking down, he noticed he was dressed in the same clothing, though it was a little big on him.
His body, which appeared to have been washed, still was sore from being subjected to consecutive shockwaves.
He hadn't noticed at the time, but letting off chain explosions all around himself over and over unsurprisingly left him in a rather sorry state.
Since he had exhausted almost all of his mana, his recovery period would naturally be decreased as well.
Deciding that he wasn't going anywhere without the approval of this child's father, Saivas decided to get some more information.
"I- I don't remember much, where am I?" Saivas questioned
"You're at my house!" The child answered honestly
"And where is that?"
"It's here!" The child looked at him like he was a little stupid for asking such an obvious question.
'Oh right, they're an actual child' Saivas reprimanded himself
'What did you expect? They probably haven't left their house much more than you've left yours' Jason chided
'Lets just keep our questions simple' He concluded
Letting out a sigh, Saivas decided he would ask the complex questions when the child's father came home.
"What's your name? Who's your father?" Saivas probed
"I'm Kai! My father is Angelo, he's the coolest!" Kai bragged, raising their fist in the air as a salute.
'Angelo? I'm sure I've heard that name before...'
The name sounded super familiar, but he just couldn't place his finger on where he'd heard it before.
It wasn't like him to be forgetful of things. Still, having just had his brain rattled, and also having just woken up, it wasn't surprising to have a bit of fogginess.
Jason couldn't seem to recall either, so they decided to leave it for the time being.
"Hello Kai, I'm Saivas, son of-"
Realizing that his father was not a very popular person in the village, he decided to change pace
"Uh, son of my father. He's also very cool, maybe even as cool as your dad" He finished
"Nuh uh! My daddy is way cooler, he's kind, strong, handsome, and the bestest daddy ever!" Kai chastised, nobody was cooler than their daddy after all. Anyone who thought otherwise needed to be educated.
"Uh, right, sorry" Saivas sat up and scratched the back of his head, wincing a little bit upon moving.
"Kai, how long have I been here?" Savias gulped
"Daddy brought you here this morning, you were black!" Kai giggled
This was what he really needed to know. The sun was already halfway through the sky, so his mother and father were probably currently on a rampage looking for him.
Knowing his father, he was likely sprinting around town at mach 10 with complete disregard for decorum looking for him.
Leaving the house again would likely be very difficult already, if it had been a few days, well he could forget about it entirely.
That would have been catastrophic, so Saivas was happy the damage was minimal.
'Stupid! I let my emotions get the best of me! Why didn't you stop me?' Saivas scolded Jason
'Cut me some slack! Those explosions were cool! Would you have stopped you?' Jason retorted
Of course, being the same person, it was a given he wouldn't have. It still sucked though.
When he was about to ask Kai another question, he heard the door open.
"Kai, I'm home!" A man's voice boomed
Before Saivas could even react, Kai bolted out of the room with a speed that would have even impressed Stuart.
"Daddyyyy!!!"
Saivas heard the small patter of quick footsteps until it was replaced with a loud thud and grunt, followed by a laugh.
A few seconds later, Kai returned. Accompanied by the man who was obviously their father.
As for Angelo, he was tall, about 6'4" with a physique rivaling olympic athletes. He also had the same blonde hair and blue eyes as Kai, but his hair was long, tied into a bun. His eyes shone brightly, clearly showing how happy he was to be with his child.
No matter what expression he wore, a hint of caution could always bee seen accompanying it. His gaze reminded Saivas a lot of his own father. He wore leather clothing, clearly meant for protection while maintaining mobility.
His visage almost reminded Saivas of the depictions he had seen of Samurai in his last life. This was only exaggerated by the shortsword hanging from his belt.
'You have got to be fucking kidding me!' Saivas inwardly screamed
He didn't fear samurai, they were generally depicted as honorable and just. The problem was that he definitely recognized this man!
'Why?! Why of all people did he have to find me?!' Saivas cursed his bad luck and added this to the list of grievances he had with that asshole god.
"Oh, you're finally awake. Good, I'm glad to see you're well. You must be Saivas Anthera, son of Stuart right?" Angelo addressed him
Saivas didn't bother asking how he knew his name. Of course he did. This man knew just about everyone in this village. Especially anyone related to people of interest like Stuart.
All Saivas could do was gulp back his worry and nod his head.
"That's what I thought. So Saivas, tell me, how did you end up half dead in a crater? You'll have to forgive my rudeness, but as of right now the village guard is on high alert"
Of course Saivas knew who this man was, everyone in the village did. Many even revered him as a hero and a saint!
If this was even 3 nights ago, Saivas would have been counting his good luck! But now things were different.
This was Angelo Stormkeep, the captain of the village guards!
The very same village guards who, despite not knowing it, were currently looking high and low for himself!
And Saivas, who had killed 4 of their men, currently was immobilized in his home.
