"It's already late in the afternoon, I wonder where Father is?" Bennet asked himself.
He has been practicing his divine arts and learned that it takes around a minute to regain an SP point which means that he can use his "Haste" ability twice in a row but he has to wait around fifteen minutes to regain enough SP and use it again.
Another thing that is on his mind is leveling up, as much as he has trained for the past months, there has been no movement and he is still at level one.
"Hurry, Albert said to go to his place!" an old man shouted.
Behind the old man were other folks who were from the town, there were more than twenty people running with fear on their faces, Bennet's heart raced upon seeing the people.
"What's going on!?" Bennet asked.
"The town, the town is being attacked!" a lady shouted back.
"Kid, come with us to the merchant's house!" shouted another.
"W-wait, where's my father, Albert the merchant?" Bennet asked in fear.
"Oh, you are Alfred's son. He remained in the town, he is fighting along with the Silver Pirates"
Upon hearing what they said, Bennet ran towards the town but the grown-ups blocked his way.
"Haste!" Bennet shouted which made his movement so fast that the grown-ups got tangled guessing which way he would go.
"Come back here, it's dangerous in the town!"
Bennet doesn't care if it is dangerous, his heart is pounding to the point that he feels that it will be crushed by the pressure that he is feeling. Despite knowing that he is more rational than emotional and knowing that the chances of him getting killed are high, he can't stop himself from running towards danger.
Perhaps for the first time, Bennet acknowledged that the love he feels for his father is true even though he knows that he a reincarnation; the parents that he has longed for in his previous life are here and nothing is more true than that.
He arrives at the town, a lot of bodies are scattered, some are heavily injured while some are dead on the spot.
"I told you all, no one can get past me!!" a roaring voice echoed.
Bennet knows that voice so he followed it and found the man standing in the middle of the road.
"T-that's father!" Bennet told himself upon seeing a man standing tall as if he is five feet taller than his height and his body, seems like made of boulders.
He realized that he had never seen his father shirtless ever, perhaps Albert was hiding it from him but then again, no father would allow his child to see such a scary state of a body.
Almost everywhere, Albert has long scars, a sign of almost getting killed multiple times.
His father was standing against eight pirates, one decided to attack, and almost instantly, a head rolled to the ground.
"How many has he killed already?" a pirate asked.
"Thirteen, I think" another answered.
"Weak fools" someone said from afar.
"Vice-captain, perfect timing, we need your h–" The pirate talking died before he could finish his sentence.
In an instant, the Vice Captain smashed the head of the pirate as if it was a pumpkin.
"You all couldn't even handle a single man, Two of our captains are fighting against Orion so there shouldn't be anyone strong left here" the Vice Captain said.
Bennet can see the level of the pirates and his father but he couldn't see the level of the Vice Captain which means that his father is weaker than the possible opponent.
"Father! Get away from that man, he is dangerous!" Bennet shouted.
"H-huh, Bennet, what are you doing h-" Albert's eyes widened.
Albert flew into a store made of stones and the walls crashed him.
"Ghahaha! Never look away from your opponent, fool!" the Vice Captain shouted.
"Father, no!" Bennet shouted.
"Now, to kill the little mouse" the Vice Captain sprang and attacked Bennet.
"Haste!" Bennet chanted and avoided the attack.
"Ohoh! The kid can use mystical arts, we can sell this kid somewhere" the Vice Captain said.
"Okay, I won't kill you but I'll damage your legs so we can still sell you" he continued.
Multiple attacks were thrown but Bennet was able to dodge everything thanks to the haste ability and the fact that the Vice Captain was minimizing his swings.
*10 seconds, 7 seconds, 4, seconds…. Haste effect over*
"I'm pissed, let me just kill you" the Vice Captain smiled.
"Bye pip-squeek" a full force was used and the loud bang could be heard from streets away.
As the dust settled, everyone watching was shocked by what they saw.
"Can't fight someone your own size?" Albert said.
He stopped the mace with his bare hands.
"I didn't want to use my abilities because it is a pain in the ass but I have no choice now, you tried to harm my son" Albert continued.
*Status: RAGE* The system shows.
The Vice Captain was thrown away, to the building but Albert wasn't finished, he attacked him relentlessly with his sword and each attack was stronger than the previous.
Bennet was shocked by what he was seeing, his father was so strong that the pirates who were watching before started running away one by one but it didn't make sense to him because he thought that the Vice Captain was stronger than his father.
"Are you surprised? Kekeke" a voice asked.
"You're here Toma, what's going on?" Bennet asked.
"I could talk right now because there's a lot of dead people, Hades presence is strong here kekeke" Toma said.
"The question in your mind is, your father is obviously stronger than the Vice Captain and the reason why you can see the level of your father is because he trusts you" Toma continued.
"Trust me?" Bennet asked.
"Yep, if someone trusts you with their life then their level will be visible to you. Right now your intelligence is low so you can only see up to level thirty for people that you have no connection with" Toma answered.
"That makes sense, thank you, Toma, both for answering and for your skills," Bennet said.
"Kekeke, no need to thank me" Toma answered before vanishing in his mind.
Albert stopped attacking the Vice Captain and turned towards Bennet.
"Are you okay, Are you hurt?" Albert asked
"I- I'm okay, Father. Sorry for interrupting your fight, I thought that-"
Albert hugged Bennet with all his might.
"I'm proud of you, you were so brave to face someone way stronger than you" his father said.
Bennet doesn't understand what's going on but tears suddenly fall from his eyes, the fear he felt for his father was elevated, and at the same time, he felt proud after hearing the words of his father.
