Chapter 24 - Mirai's Encounter with the Incubus

Azrael and Gabriel, two celestial beings with a deep sense of duty, were deeply troubled by the news of the city's crisis. They had witnessed the aftermath of the terror that had befallen the innocent girls, and the signs pointed to a malevolent force at play.

Their suspicions weighed heavy on their minds, for they had encountered demons in the past and knew the havoc they could wreak. With Mirai occupied elsewhere, the responsibility to investigate and put an end to this sinister threat fell upon Azrael and Gabriel's shoulders.

Azrael, the Archangel of Death, nodded in agreement with Gabriel's resolute declaration. He understood the gravity of the situation and the urgency of their mission.

Gabriel and Azrael walked through the dimly lit city, discussing the nature of the Incubus demon that had been terrorizing innocent girls. Gabriel explained that an Incubus was a male demon known for its seductive and alluring nature, preying upon the dreams and desires of human women, particularly during the night. These demons often took on the appearance of handsome, irresistible men, luring their victims into intimate encounters that resulted in vivid and often erotic dreams. The encounters drained the life force and energy from their prey, leaving them weakened and exhausted.

As Azrael listened intently, he grasped the gravity of their mission. The safety of the people was at stake, and they needed to act swiftly to stop the Incubus. Gabriel's explanation provided valuable insight into their adversary, and they were both more determined than ever to put an end to the demon's reign of terror. With a shared sense of purpose, they continued their quest, knowing that they were the city's last line of defense against this insidious threat.

Mirai sat alone in her office, surrounded by the soft hum of computers and the dim glow of screens displaying news reports about the ongoing crisis in their city. Her brow furrowed with concern as she meticulously combed through the latest updates, trying to piece together any information that might help in their investigation. Her determination burned brightly, matching the resolve she'd seen in Gabriel and Azrael earlier.

As the night wore on, Mirai knew that her comrades were out there, facing the unknown threat head-on. She couldn't be with them physically, but her role was equally crucial. Gathering and analyzing information, coordinating their efforts, and ensuring that their actions were as informed as possible — these were her contributions to their mission.

Deep in thought, she continued to monitor the situation, ready to provide support and guidance to Gabriel and Azrael as they confronted the mysterious Incubus demon.

The streets were quiet as Mirai walked home, her steps echoing in the solitude of the night. Her thoughts drifted back to Azrael, her concern for him evident in the lines on her face. She knew that their recent encounter with Beelzebub had taken a toll on him, both physically and emotionally. Azrael had sacrificed himself to protect Gabriel, an act that had left a lasting impact on them all.

As she continued her journey, Mirai couldn't help but reflect on the complexities of their roles as angels and servants, the battles they faced, and the sacrifices they made. The weight of their responsibilities and the risks they took were ever-present companions in their lives. But even in the face of darkness, they remained steadfast in their commitment to their duties.

Mirai felt a sudden chill down her spine as she noticed the shadowy figure trailing her. Her senses heightened, and she instinctively reached for the concealed dagger at her side. She continued walking, her steps deliberate and measured, but her mind raced, trying to assess the situation. Was this a potential threat, or perhaps just a passerby on the same path? She decided to keep a close eye on her pursuer while maintaining her guard, ready for whatever might come next.

She gets her dagger and throws it at the person following her.

Mirai's heart pounded as her dagger was effortlessly caught by the mysterious pursuer. She had expected a normal person to recoil in fear or pain, but this individual displayed an unnatural ability. She continued walking, now more alert than ever, her mind racing to comprehend the situation. Who was this person, and what were their intentions? With her dagger in the hands of this enigmatic figure, she realized she had to tread carefully and be prepared for whatever unfolded next.

The demon stepped out from the shadows, revealing a mischievous smirk on his face. He had an air of confidence about him, one that was both intriguing and unsettling. Mirai tightened her grip on her remaining dagger, ready to defend herself if necessary. "Cut the games. What do you want?" The demon leaned closer, his voice dripping with intrigue. "Oh, just a little chat, lovely angel".

Mirai couldn't deny the strange blend of human and demon energy emanating from the Incubus before her. It was unlike any other demon she had encountered. "You're not like the others," she remarked cautiously. "What do you want from me?" The Incubus chuckled, his eyes gleaming with an enigmatic light. "You've got spirit, angel. I like that. I'm here because I know you're looking for something, something that can help you with your little crisis in the city." Mirai's curiosity deepened, but she kept her guard up. "And what makes you think I would trust you or your help?" The Incubus leaned closer, his gaze unwavering. "Because, my dear angel, I know where to find the one responsible for this mess. "Let's make this quick. Just surrender yourself to me, and we'll both enjoy it. I will promise that I won't kill you. I just need some pleasure, HAHAHA.""

Mirai's eyes blazed with anger and determination. "You think I would willingly surrender to the likes of you? You're gravely mistaken!" She readied herself for a confrontation, her dagger held firmly in her hand.

Mirai's eyes narrowed as she sized up the Incubus before her. "You're deluded if you think what you're doing is in any way acceptable. Your actions have caused harm to innocent women. Now, prepare to face the consequences." She lunged at the Incubus, her dagger poised to strike.

The Incubus flies to the sky and goes down fast to attack Mirai.

Mirai blocked his attack with her dagger. The Incubus turns back and is stunned because he sees Mirai's face very close.

The night breeze rustled their hair as they locked eyes in that tense moment. Mirai's face, illuminated by the moonlight, bore the marks of countless battles, and her eyes radiated an unwavering resolve. The Incubus, taken aback by her fierce determination, couldn't help but hesitate for a fleeting second.

Mirai's stern expression remained unyielding in the face of the Incubus's lecherous comments. Her dagger was held steady, a glint of determination in her eyes as she prepared for whatever the Incubus had in store. She had no intention of becoming a victim to this demon's perverse desires.
