0400 - 4 A.M. : Start of moment
"I won't allow you to die."
The angelic voice, with a woman's tone, reverberated through my consciousness. Coming from everywhere, and nowhere. An echo trailed her, repeating what's said.
/…What in the fuck..?/
"Not now, not ever, not until my will has been fully enacted."
Such strong words, like a show of force, exerted itself upon me.
"You are my chosen, my method of enactment, my facilitator."
/…And who the hell do you think you are, to order me like that?/
My words were met with no response, rather I find myself waking, again.
On the small sandy shore, with garbage like cans and plastic wrappers laid out on its banks.
Seaweed wrapped around my arms and legs.
So absurd, this is.
———
Marin attempted to take himself, by jumping from the massive bridge, into the unbelievable depths below.
He thought his own death was a certainty with this much.
But he had been thwarted, by this unexplainable force.
———
/Where did my clothes go?/
…
/Damn, I was wearing my favorite hoodie, too…/
Getting up took most of what strength I still had, leaving me wobbling like a drunkard.
Scratching my strangely itchy butt, I scaled the sandy shores back up onto the sidewalk. Seaweed still wrapped around me, I used it as a temporary solution to my nudity. No longer dragging the seaweed by my ankles, I moved it to my waist and hips.
My bare feet hit the concrete, wherein I looked around, trying to get my bearings.
"Shit, I don't have my pager… I left it at home…"
…
———
Sighing, Marin started to walk, without an aim as to where to go.

0448 - 4:48 A.M. : Starting next moment
My seaweed wrappings are starting to stink.
Hah… sorta like sushi.
Thank fuck its still early in the morning, I don't really want to get caught, looking like this.
My long, saltwater-soaked hair is sticking to my face, causing my to spit it back out every so often.
Through the mostly empty sidewalk, occasionally I look inwards, to the TVs playing the current news behind the electronic stores's reinforced windows.
"The world is determined to end in three weeks!?"
This sentence, suddenly cutting in from a commercial about dog food, stopped me in my tracks.
/Jesus christ, it's one thing after another right now, isn't it?/
"Scientists believe that a never-before-seen asteroid is currently on course to impact Earth."
Oh..?
"Most accurate calculations available at this time, believe its going to impact directly… on XXXXXXX City…"
Me and the reporter seem to have the same look at this, as his heightened eyebrows drip with sweat along with his eyes widening.
"Uhm… well take it back to Diana."
Before the camera can even start to pan away, the reporter quickly puts on his hat, before starting for the door, just out of frame, to make a quick leave.
Scratching at my nether regions, I remarked to myself:
/I have the vague feeling, that I'm in for a shitty time./
