Chereads / Queen Arianna / Chapter 5 - Xavier

Chapter 5 - Xavier

The grass was short and there were flowers in the field. She was clad in a beautiful white silk gown. She was young; about 7 years old. Beside her was Logan.

Her mother was hiding somewhere in the field. So was her dad.

"Mom!"

"Mom!"

She and Logan screamed.

"Come on mom, come out, come out wherever you are!"

"Arianna!" a deep male voice snapped her out of her deep slumber. Her eyes flickered and they fluttered open.

Logan looked at Arianna and frowned. While working, he had had a bad premonition about Arianna staying in the same house as a demon. So he had rushed back to the house. While approaching, he had felt a powerful overwhelming aura from a mile away and knew Arianna was in trouble. He wanted to run all the way, but the aura kept slowing him down and he could only drag his feet.

After about thirty seconds, when the power was withdrawn and he had run to his house. He met Arianna on the floor; she had fainted. He had taken her into the room as that man concealed his powers completely and another man appeared. It was a good thing everyone had left their houses for work. If they hadn't left, his house would have been cornered by now.

Arianna saw the usual wooden ceiling she had grown up with. She looked to her side and saw her brother Logan.

"You were calling them again," he frowned.

Sometimes, Arianna doubted if Logan was her brother because of the way he referred to their parents as 'them'. Even if they had left them alone at such a young age. They were still their parents.

"Why do I have to wait for two useless humans?" a cool voice said outside unhappily.

She ignored his reproach and stood on her feet at the thought of King Tristan. She moved to the door and walked out before Logan could stop her.

She saw the King of Ramenia, Tristan seated at the table. He had changed his clothes into one woven of pure silk. He looked powerful and majestic like a true king. The aura he exuded was one of arrogance and fieriness.

He was backing her and right in front of him was another man.

When Arianna looked at him her heart stopped. Blood! Saying this man was goodlooking was an understatement. If there was a much bigger word for beauty she would have used it. He was beyond beautiful. Ten times more handsome than King Tristan. His aura was so cool the air around him seemed to be frozen. He was just like ice; so cold and calm. Who could he be?!

She almost had a nosebleed looking at him. But Logan walked in and tugged at her sleeves. She turned to look at him and knew he was about to complain as usual. She put her hands on her lips to silence him but he suddenly fell on his knees bleeding.

"Logan," she looked confused. His face and eyes were red and swollen and he was bleeding from three of his orifices. He seemed to be losing air. Tristan chuckled behind them. She turned and looked at him confused. What had they done?

"Do you not know how to acknowledge a King?" The other man said in an icy tone. He sounded like he would kill them anytime soon.

She realized the problem and kowtowed in front of them. "Long live Your Royal Majesty,"

Logan dropped on the floor and he was back to normal but his breathing was still heavy.

"Is she the one?"

"Yes, take her back with you to Aysha."

...

Arianna walked into a room inside the ship. She sat on the soft bed and looked out the window.

She had come to the understanding that the cool man was a much valued person as everyone bowed to him on her way. They all had said something to him but she was too preoccupied with her thoughts to listen.

The man King Tristan called Xavier led both her and King Tristan to a big ship. She was kept in one of the rooms on the ship and looking out the window now, her mind drifted away to the things that happened a while ago.

"Yes, take her back with you to Aysha." Tristan said.

"We leave now, I have work to do," said Xavier with an air of finality. He stood up and looked at Arianna, "You're coming with me."

"I believe that should be a choice!" Logan who was still weak yelled.

"Logan!" Arianna hissed.

"What? You are not leaving!" Logan said decisively and stood on his feet.

Xavier scoffed and Tristan smirked.

"Humans." Xavier said disgusted.

Logan's feet was lifted off the ground and he was hanging in the air. Arianna looked at him in surprise at first until she saw the veins throbbing on his forehead. In two seconds, his face had become red and he held onto his neck as if he was being strangled.

Logan strained and his face was turning blue. He rolled his eyes towards Xavier and that is when Arianna realized what was happening. For some reason, Arianna's mind had been a ness ever since these men came here. She left Logan and immediately went down on her knees.

"Please sir, I will come with you. Please do not listen to his words and end his life." Arianna begged. Xavier ignored her and kept strangling Logan.

"Shu... shut...up Arianna!" Logan yelled and the magic hand restraining him tightened its hold. One had to understand that a while ago, Logan had had an internal bleeding and vomited blood. Coupled with the fact that he was being strangled now. If even he didn't get strangled to death, his recovery would not be so certain. Arianna was afraid of the inevitable outcome.

"Please sir, show mercy!" Arianna begged euphorically.

"Xavier." Tristan called. Xavier looked at him and let go of Logan. He turned towards the door and in the blink of an eye, he, Tristan and Arianna were gone. They had vanished.

Logan looked at the door dumbfounded, held onto his throat and then fainted.

Arianna felt all of her organs rearranging as they moved through space. However, the rearrangement happened in less than half a second, she hadn't died from the sudden movement of her heart. What was even more worse was that she felt every cell in and out of her body moving. This movement was faster than that of her organs, that for a moment she felt like a piece of dough being kneaded over and over again.

All this occurred in just 2 seconds and they arrived at a harbor. She fell on her knees weak and couldn't stand for a whole minute. King Tristan and Xavier had walked past her by then and a servant rushed to her aid. The servant led her to a small room and gave her a pair of clean clothes and shoes.

She changed into those clothes.

...

Logan woke up with a splitting headache, he looked around and saw Ashley sitting at the edge of the bed. Her head was down and it looked like she had zoned out while watching him. He stood up. His body was still weak and it took him a moment to take a balanced stance.

'Wow! This bed has been used so much in a day.' he thought.

Probably sensing that he was awake, Ashley woke up and looked at him.

"You were out for 2 days," Ashley said nervously. She swept her dark brown hair behind her ears. "I came by to ask Arianna for some fish but found you unconscious so..."

"Arianna!" he exclaimed. He paced about and remembered King Tristan's words. "Aysha, I need to go to Aysha," he went for the door.

Ashley stood up and blocked him, "Aysha is a kingdom. You can't just walk in there. You'd instantly get killed by demons if you're not authorized to enter."

"How do I get authorization?"

"I don't know Logan," she sat on the bed. "We live in a remote town. For now we should just focus on saving money. Maybe if we save up enough we can find a ship to take us there, the boats aren't safe as the waters are always turbulent." She said and looked at him deeply.

"Why do you say we? Are you planning on going with me?" He asked.

"Yes, Logan. Isn't it obvious?"

"But why would you do that?"

"Because I care about you."

His heart thumped.
