Chapter 11 - Saved the kids and return back to Village

"Are you here to save these kids?" inquired the middle-aged man, curiosity etched onto his face.

"Are you suggesting I'm here to watch an acrobat show put on by your underlings on that stage?" countered Ronin, deflecting the dark cultivator leader's question.

"Nope, it seems your intention is indeed to rescue these children," retorted the middle-aged man as black tattoos began to spread across his body. Fangs and claws visibly sprouted, his hand snapped, causing the kids to collapse unconscious on the ground.

Observing this, Ronin furrowed his brow. "Fear not, they are unharmed. I temporarily rendered them unconscious with my malevolent energy. They now slumber, leaving us free to battle undisturbed," declared the dark cultivator leader, a ruthless glint in his eyes.

With the words "My hand as a sword," Ronin swiftly executed the first demonic sword skill he had mastered, "Demonic Slash," attacking the dark cultivator leader.

"Your tactics are unscrupulous; I haven't consented to a duel," protested the dark cultivator leader, wearing a disapproving expression.

"Are you truly a dark cultivator?" questioned Ronin as his attack landed.

The dark cultivator leader evaded the overpowering strike but sustained an injury. "Your demonic energy is remarkably pure. Your demon and its energy suggest you're an illegitimate child of the royal family," he exclaimed, astonishment evident on his face.

"Illegitimate child?" Ronin regarded the dark cultivator leader with a perplexed expression.

"Yes, because I'm familiar with every legitimate child in the royal family. However, your demon energy and attack style differ significantly from those I know within the demon's royal lineage. Thus, I'm convinced you're an illegitimate child of one of the royal family members," declared the dark cultivator leader, his expression stern.

"Calling me an illegitimate child? Utter nonsense," Ronin retorted, launching into an immediate attack against the dark cultivator leader. Ronin was, in fact, a demon lord, and his knowledge of that could prove fatal for the dark cultivator leader, likely inducing a deadly kidney stroke.

Reacting quickly, the dark cultivator leader performed a series of hand gestures and struck the ground. The earth trembled slightly as a black liquid spread across the area, excluding the section where the unconscious children lay. "Even with demon's royal blood coursing through your veins, do you honestly believe you can prevail within my domain?" taunted the dark cultivator leader, his gaze fixed on Ronin.

"Hmm, do you assume my demon's royal blood is ordinary?" Ronin countered, sidestepping the question.

"Allow me to demonstrate the potential of my bloodline," Ronin smirked, placing his hand upon the black liquid and proclaiming loudly, "Disperse."

"Wait, that skill is exclusive to the demon lord!" the dark cultivator leader exclaimed, astonishment overtaking his features.

"Do you comprehend the significance of the demon lord's commands? Each directive serves a distinct purpose. The command I just employed is 'Bane to All Dark Cultivators.' Considering this, does it genuinely matter whether it's your domain or not?" inquired Ronin, rising and clapping his hands to dislodge the dust.

"You... You... You're a demon lord? Impossible! The demon lord fell to Jin Zhao's might," the dark cultivators leader stammered in a tremulous voice.

"Indeed, I'm not deceased. I stand before you now. However, my visibility might force me to silence this witness," Ronin threatened, a menacing gesture towards his throat.

"No... No... How can this be? Why would Jin Zhao deceive everyone?" the dark cultivators leader shook his head in disbelief.

"Considering your predicament, it's wiser to contemplate your escape than indulge in such matters," Ronin advised, leisurely cracking his fingers.

"Yes, I must flee. Remaining alive allows for future cultivation advancement," the dark cultivators leader muttered under his breath. Employing the blood escape technique, he harnessed his blood essence to escalate his speed several-fold, enabling him to evade Ronin.

Yet, would he successfully flee under the scrutiny of a demon lord?

The answer was a resounding "no."

In an instant, Ronin vanished from his original position, reappearing with a grip on the dark cultivators leader's throat.

"Glaa...cough...karr…"

The dark cultivators leader struggled futilely against Ronin's grip. "Whatever you're doing, ensure it's away from the demon lord's presence," advised Ronin, promptly snapping the leader's neck and discarding him onto the ground.

Ronin vanished once more. This time, a sequence began: dark cultivators succumbed, one after the other, each falling lifeless without a drop of blood or a hint of resistance, ignorant of their own demise.

Approaching the unconscious children, Ronin snapped his fingers, gradually rousing them. "Look, that villain is lying on the floor," one child pointed, fear in their eyes.

"Hush," Ronin hushed them.

All eyes turned towards Ronin. "Observe, he's sleeping. Everyone, stay quiet. We're leaving this cavern," Ronin instructed in a hushed tone.

"Alright," the children concurred softly, following Ronin in silence toward the cave entrance. Ronin occasionally cast amused glances at the children.

"Hey, look, the other bad guys are sleeping too," another child whispered, pointing to the incapacitated dark cultivators with trepidation.

"Shh, remain silent," the surrounding children cautioned with a gesture, pressing a finger against their lips.

The child complied, nodding along, as the group continued to trail Ronin. After witnessing the interactions among the children, Ronin shook his head, a smile gracing his lips. Moving forward, he arrived at the cave's entrance and stepped outside, the children following suit.

"Phew, we've finally gotten away from the bad guys. Now, let's go find our parents," the child exclaimed, releasing a sigh of relief. The other kids nodded in agreement, their expressions also reflecting their relief.

Safely guiding them to the village, Ronin placed the children in front of the village chief and requested that he reunite them with their rightful parents. He then accompanied Layla, heading to meet her mother. Waiting alongside Mei Ling a short distance from the village entrance, Layla's mother spotted her daughter and rushed over, enveloping her in a heartfelt embrace. This time, both mother and daughter extended sincere gratitude to Ronin and Mei Ling before departing with content smiles on their faces.

"With Brother Ronin's strength, I knew you could rescue Layla and the other kids," Mei Ling declared with an admiring smile.
