Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Deep within the confines of the underworld, a man dressed in black attire, possessing black eyes, sunken cheeks, and a prominent jawline, was imparting instructions to a young girl resembling Will in age. She, too, was garbed in black attire but stood out with her entrancing emerald green Jade eyes, radiating a beauty akin to Medusa before her transformation into a gorgon. This Medusa was untouched by Poseidon's influence, exuding pure beauty effortlessly in any setting. The man spoke solemnly, 'Remember, Roxanna, this is a legacy that none of my offspring, nor I, Lucifer, the esteemed ruler of hell, could claim. I will escort you to the location, but obtaining the artifact will rely solely on your capabilities. Even I, Lucifer, and all my descendants have failed to seize it. You, too, will have the opportunity to acquire it, so prepare yourself.' Roxanna found herself puzzled by the mysterious artifact that had eluded her father's grasp. Curious, she inquired, 'Father, what is this artifact that even you, as the monarch, could not obtain?' 'Are you aware of King Solomon?' Lucifer asked. 'Which incarnation? The player or the famed conqueror?' Roxanna questioned. 'I am referring to the conqueror,' Lucifer clarified. 'I know little of him, only that he was a mighty king following his father's rule. How does he relate to this?' Roxanna probed further. Lucifer explained, 'The artifact we pursue is the symbol of that conqueror - The Ring of Solomon. This ring bestowed upon him command over the spirits known as djinn, propelling him to great conquests. To reach the same heights as your beloved, you must possess this ring, my daughter.' Roxanna acknowledged the necessity of bridging the divide between herself and her lover. Following her father's guidance, they descended a concealed path, unveiled by a mechanism on his throne. After traversing the stairs, they arrived at a cavern. Lucifer led the way, welcoming his daughter inside. The cave exuded a cold, damp atmosphere. Roxanna's gaze landed on the black ring encased in green crystals at the center of the cave, adorning what appeared to be an altar. Her father's nod confirmed that it was indeed the Ring of Solomon - a black band resembling intertwined serpents, culminating with a red, dull marble at their apex. Motioning for Roxanna to claim the ring, Lucifer indicated that it wouldn't be an easy feat. Undeterred, Roxanna pressed on, determined not to relinquish her opportunity. The pressure mounted as she advanced, but she steeled herself, inching closer to the altar. Just as she neared it, she was met with a vision of a man or silhouette, causing dizziness. The entity inquired, 'For what purpose do you seek my ring? Dominance over the world?' Roxanna responded faithfully, 'No, I seek it to stand beside my beloved.' The entity, intrigued by this unique motive, delved deeper into her intent, uncovering her affection for a seemingly unassuming boy named Will - a revelation that baffled him. The entity's exploration expanded to Roxanna's experiences at Wingsgate Academy, an esteemed institution for the wealthy, where her love was put to the test. Roxanna's affection for Will persisted, sparking curiosity and contemplation within the ethereal being.Roxanna, a young woman raised in challenging circumstances, was informed that she must refrain from forming romantic attachments with humans due to their inability to withstand the passionate nature of demons, risking their destruction during moments of intimacy. Her vigilant bodyguard, Alfred, diligently reminded her of this cautionary fact whenever necessary. However, when Roxanna developed feelings for a boy named Will, Alfred signaled his approval, prompting her to confess her affection for the lonely fellow student. Indicating that this Will was nothing like a mortal. During a school event at the stadium, while most were engrossed in a game, Roxanna noticed Will's absence and found him absorbed in his artwork in his classroom, Despite her initial hesitations, Roxanna ventured into his classroom to reveal her feelings for him. Upon entering, she discovered Will, with his hazel eyes fixed on the distant horizon, she is captivated by the depiction of clashes between titans in a stormy setting that were drawn by will in his artbook placed on his locker. Roxanna approached him, and only when she introduced herself did Will snap out of his trance. In a small, dimly lit room, the air was heavy with the soft hum of machinery. Will glanced up from the intricate gears he was tinkering with as Roxanna entered, a hesitant smile playing on his lips. "Hey, Roxanna," he greeted warmly, his voice soft in the quiet space. The surprise in Roxanna's eyes was evident as she heard her name leave Will's lips. She shifted awkwardly, feeling a blush creeping up her cheeks. "Oh, uh, you know my name?" she stammered, the words coming out in a rush. Her embarrassment was palpable as she realized her own reaction might have sounded rude. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to--"

Will's calm voice cut through her apology. "It's alright, Roxanna," he reassured her with a gentle smile. "I've got a knack for remembering names." His easygoing demeanor put her at ease, and she relaxed slightly, a grateful smile tugging at her lips.

As Roxanna opened her mouth to express the feelings that had been swirling inside her for so long, a sudden burst of noise and light tore through the room. The deafening sound made them both jump, the brightness overwhelming their senses for a moment. Blinking away the spots dancing in her vision, Roxanna's pulse quickened as she saw the figure that had materialized before them.

Standing before them was a being unlike anything she had ever seen. A six-winged angel, radiant and awe-inspiring, hovered in the air with a majestic presence. The glow of its halo bathed the room in a warm, ethereal light, casting intricate shadows across the walls. In its hands, a gleaming sword gleamed with an otherworldly sheen, its blade sharp and ominous.

Roxanna's breath caught in her throat as she gazed upon the celestial visitor, her mind racing with a thousand questions. What could this angel want? Why had it appeared before them in this moment? The air around them seemed charged with an unspoken energy, a tension that crackled with the weight of the unknown.

Will's expression was a mix of curiosity and trepidation as he watched the angel's movements, his eyes taking in every detail of its form. The room seemed to hum with an otherworldly presence, a sense of something greater than themselves looming in the air.

As the angel's piercing gaze met theirs, a sense of reverence washed over Roxanna, a feeling of humility and wonder at being in the presence of such a divine being. She reached out a trembling hand towards Will, seeking his reassurance in the face of the unknown.

In that moment, as the room hung suspended in a hushed stillness, Roxanna knew that whatever the angel's intentions may be, only God held the key to unraveling the mysteries that lay before them.
