Two days ago, Louis was presented in front of his grandfather, Cain Heisenberng.
"What brought you here, my grandson?" He asked in a calm manner.
Although he was shocked to see him here, he was pleased that he came all the way to meet him personally.
No matter what the issue was.
He was willing to give whatever the arrogant grandson wanted.
"I was missing you, but that's not the sole purpose of my being here. You know, mother's health is not good; I had to admit her to the hospital last night."
The elder nodded, took a sip of his herbal tea, and spoke, What do the doctors have to say about her health?"
"They informed me that she had a heart tumour and there were only six to nine months for her to live." He looked down as his eyes got wet, but he controlled himself.
Cain immediately turned his attention towards him, as he couldn't believe that his daughter-in-law only had a few months to live. She was going to die before him, which really made him feel bad for her.
His eyes were on Louis, who was looking down and wasn't saying anything. This grandson of his was always close to his heart.
Louis heart was so pure that Cain wanted to protect him, but if he did, Louis wouldn't be able to be strong.
In the future, if he had to take control of Heisenberng's business, there would be a lot of scam schemes that would swallow him whole if he stayed like this, whining like girls.
But seeing the grown man break because of his mother made him realise how his son was when his wife died.
"Louis, is there anything else you want to tell me, hm?" He asked as he patted his shoulder. He didn't try to give him hope, as hope would always make people get easy on him.
Louis took a deep breath, feeling a weight lift off his chest. He knew he couldn't afford to let his emotions get the best of him.
He had to be strong, just like his father and grandfather had always taught him. He looked up at his grandfather, his eyes filled with tenacity.
He didn't want his grandson to lose everything just because of this news.
Louis controlled himself, as his grandpa didn't try to make him calm. He looked up and said, "There's something I found for you to look at."
Cain looked at him confusedly and waited for him to show what he wanted. He pulled out the folder and put it in front of the elder man.
"This is the record of the financial department. Look at this: It was $1 billion last year. Look at this page; less than $200 million is not here."
Grandpa held both papers in his hands and took a good look at them himself. His expressions got ugly as he threw those papers on the table and glared at his grandson.
"Who is responsible for this?" He asked coldly.
"Alexander." The expressions on Grandpa's face turned more ugly as he stood up and dialled a number.
Louis only looked at him as he brought the cup to his lips, and a small smirk formed before it went away.
When the other person accepted the call, Grandpa spoke, "I need all records of financial services and all the payments that have been given and have been accepted since last year. Everything you feel suspicious about would be shown to me." He ordered.
Louis watched as Grandpa's demeanour shifted from anger to doggedness. The room grew tense as Grandpa demanded answers, his voice filled with authority.
Caesar, the recipient of Grandpa's call, hesitated for a moment before responding. "Do you understand?" Cain asked with authority in his voice.
"Yes, sir," he replied, his voice betraying a hint of nervousness. "I'll gather all the information and have it sent to you immediately." Grandpa hung up the phone and turned to face Louis, a fire burning in his eyes.
"We're going to get to the bottom of this, Louis," he said firmly. "No one gets away by messing with our family. I want you to dig deep and find out everything you can about Alexander and his connection to this. We won't rest until we have all the answers." Louis nodded, that's his plan.
If there was someone else present in the room, they would be scared to death by now, but it was his own grandson, who has become used to this behaviour of his grandfather.
"Are you sure it's him?" Grandpa asked, unsure.
"There's no one else who needs to gain access through the shareholders." Louis didn't need to hide anything from the old man; hence, he informed him, though he was correct this time, that "I heard he had been planning to get hold of shareholders and set a meeting soon."
When Grandpa heard this, he sat down with an angry face, he said. "Okay, I will take care of it when the time comes." He informed him and added with a smile.
"As a good grandson of mine. You can have Heisenberng's grand house as a reward. I believe you will handle the business better than my first filial grandson?"
"Of course, grandpa." Louis smiled at him. He had always admired his grandfather's success in the business world and was eager to prove himself worthy of the inheritance.
Louis knew he had big shoes to fill, but he was confident that he had the knowledge and skills to carry on his grandfather's legacy.
"But there is one condition." Louis knew his grandpa wouldn't just help him get the business so easily.
So he nodded and said, "If I can, I will do whatever grandpa say to get the company back."
Cain nodded and seemed to be in a good mood now.
He told him, "If you are able to get married in two weeks, I will let you get the company, and after your father's retirement, the company will officially be yours."
Louis wouldn't ask more, as he knew it was one of the rules: if the CEO didn't have a partner, he wouldn't get the company either.
Louis nodded and smiled. "About that, I also have to tell you something." The grandpa frowned and waited for him to say
"I am dating someone. If she says yes, we will get married soon." He showed his soft smile to Cain, who immediately turned happy at the news.
While his other grandson was busy playing girls, this grandson of his was always busy with studies, shortly after they joined the business.
There were some complaints that Louis wasn't working when, in reality, it was his first grandson who was framing his younger.
Cain knew that Edward, his eldest son, didn't want to give company to Louis. But if there was this scam in his own family, he wouldn't give the company to his incapable grandson.
After Louis had given orders to find Verena, he didn't stand there and march out of the bathroom angrily. His walk was calm and composed, betraying none of the internal turmoil he felt.
This girl was flying too high, and she did not know what type of person he was.
When he said that she would be his bride, nothing could stop him from getting married to her.
