In the outskirts of the city of Ole, Lloyd, or Nate Wole at that time, is an 8-year-old boy who was sitting on the soft green grass reading a book. The book was about the basics of reading and writing. It was a golden afternoon, with the sun setting on the horizon. The "illegitimate" son of the noble was having a quiet time on that hill, which have an oak tree in the center. He did that every afternoon when the weather is nice and sunny so he could get some alone time for himself. His father was in his duties as one of Langton's top generals while his older half-brother was at the royal academy studying to be a hero and knight. His mother was at home knitting something while his younger half-sister is being taken care of by her mother, who was his father's mistress. This was 2 years before Lloyd's mother died.
And as Lloyd was reading, an older boy came to the grassy hill, curious on what he was doing at this hour. The boy's name is Camden Leafcan. "Hello there," he greeted him nicely.
Upon hearing that, Lloyd stopped reading and looked at him. "Yes?"
Camden then approached him and sat next to him. "What are you doing?"
"I'm reading, why?" Lloyd replied back.
"I am just wondering, that's all."
Camden had black hair and blue eyes and was tall as well.
"So, what's your name?" Camden asked him.
"Oh, um…" replied Lloyd back before pausing a bit, "…Nate Wole."
"Wow, nice to meet you." Camden grabbed Lloyd's right hand and shook it for a few seconds.
He then let go of it. "My name is Camden Leafcan. Nice to meet you."
"Okay then."
Lloyd then resumed reading his book.
And then, Camden took a peek of his book. "Oh, you're learning to read and write?"
"Yes, I am," replied Lloyd back while reading.
"Okay then, nice one. Also, do you have any friends?"
"No, I don't."
Hearing that, Camden became sympathetic for him in response.
"I see. Do you want me to be your friend?"
Lloyd was surprised to hear that and looked at him. "Really?"
Camden then smiled. "Yes."
"Are you sure?" Lloyd was unsure of it. "Even though I am an illegitimate noble?"
"Oh, that? No! You're not an illegitimate child! You're a human! The word illegitimate was just invented in the legal sense."
"Really?"
"Yes, don't be bothered by legal nonsense and jargon, as long as you're a human being in reality."
Because of that, Lloyd was happy and let out a slight smile. "Thanks."
"No problem," Camden brightly replied back.
And so, Camden became Lloyd's first friend outside of his noble household.
Then, a girl came, calling Camden's name. That girl was Electra Bladesworth, who was Camden's friend and neighbor. She has blond, long hair and dark grey eyes. "There you are," she said to Camden directly. Upon hearing that, the two boys looked at her.
"Huh? Who are you?"
"Oh, hi there, Electra-chan. Sorry about that."
Lloyd then looked at Camden. "You know her?"
Camden then responded, "Yes, this is Electra Bladesworth. She's my friend."
And then, Electra looked at Lloyd. "Who are you?"
Lloyd then glanced at her. "Um…my name is Nate Wole."
"I see."
Electra then walked up towards them and sat down next to Lloyd.
And then, Camden revealed to her about Lloyd's current status as "illegitimate noble".
Because of that, Electra was a bit shocked and eventually became sympathetic towards Lloyd, before declaring towards him that she will be his friend, too.
Lloyd was happy that someone who was Camden's friend had become his second friend.
And so, from that day on, the three of them became friends.
