But then, suddenly, the festivity was interrupted by someone bursting to the front door. "Sir!" someone, who was an Undead dragon guard, said to him. Lloyd and the others looked at him.
"What's wrong?" Sati asked.
"Someone was attacking Bewote, and it seems to be a raid."
Lloyd was shocked because he never expected that would happen on his birthday. "What?"
"A raid?" Westlan asked back.
"No way…" Maria gasped.
"Who did that?" Zeke asked as well.
The guard couldn't tell who did it or ordered the raid, so he responded, "Come with us!"
And so, Lloyd, Zeke, Sati, and Zane grabbed their equipment and weapons and went with the guard, alongside Hale and Xerxes, leaving the party to Gretchel and the others.
Along the way, they called most of the soldiers and guards in the capital to come with them to Bewote, 40 minutes south of Lewole, to stop the supposedly ongoing raid
They did so, bringing their weapons and armor with them.
The trip took only 30 minutes thanks to running, and upon arriving there, they saw the carnage the invaders caused to the village capital of the autonomous tribe of Tare. Fires were set on village houses and some tenements. Undead animals are running and screaming for their lives as soldiers of Langton hunt them down while laughing like psychos. The chaos there was severe.
"No way…" Lloyd commented while being devastated.
"This is war," Sati added.
Xerxes nodded in agreement.
Then, Lloyd used his telescope to see who was behind it.
And then, he saw the banner belonging to Langton.
"What the…?!" he responded with shock.
"What is it, master?" Zeke asked him.
Lloyd then took off his telescope. "Langton was behind this!"
His subordinates were shocked and in disbelief.
"What?"
"Those jerks!"
"Why would they do that?"
Then, Lloyd looks at the scene with his telescope, only to see some people who were with Hertzel.
Those are his childhood friends.
Lloyd couldn't believe his eyes. "This stresses me out a lot. My childhood friends are there?"
"What?" asked Sati in response.
"Yes, I did have friends when I was young."
"Oh…"
Then, Lloyd saw Hertzel hitting one of them, a vanguard named Camden Leafcan, for being too slow and complacent to follow his orders.
"This adds more fuel to the fire!" Lloyd responded in anger and stress. "I can't believe he would hit one of them for no reason!"
"That Hertzel guy must've been a jerk," Zane replied with agreement.
With that, Lloyd sighed in annoyance. "Let's just prepare for a counterattack and do this."
He then puts on his new mask and prepares his sword.
"We'll follow you, sir," Zeke responded.
And so, they all went down to Bewote to fight the Langton soldiers.
Will they succeed in their counterattack against Lloyd's former kingdom?
