Chapter 71 - Third Parchment

The witch from Liechtenstein seemed too trusting, Artel mused. She deliberately let slip Saruman's name but didn't disclose her identity? However, Artel understood that she had acted with his best interests in mind.

It wasn't a simple feat for the Ministry of Magic in Liechtenstein to withstand the pressures from the International Federation of Wizards and various organizations without divulging any information about him. The recent troll attacks had taken a toll on the ministry, leading to the withdrawal of investments even from the Malfoy family.

The wizards in Liechtenstein had long harbored a desire to eradicate the troublesome troll tribe. However, international pressure and the complexity of dealing with hundreds of trolls restrained them. The consequences of a raging troll t unleashed upon the Muggle world were simply unthinkable.

Now that a wizard had appeared and obliterated the troll tribe, the Liechtenstein wizards were immensely grateful. If the Ministry of Magic betrayed them and exposed Saruman's name, the enraged wizards might overthrow their own ministry.

The staff at the Liechtenstein Ministry of Magic were also on edge. They didn't know Saruman's intentions. The fact that he single-handedly annihilated hundreds of trolls suggested that this so-called Saruman was likely a formidable wizard proficient in dark magic. Who would dare to reveal such information? Who would risk offending him?

Despite scouring through the registered wizards, they found no trace of a wizard named Saruman; he had clearly used a false name.

"Why use an alias? To keep others in the dark."

Thus, the Minister of Magic in Liechtenstein found himself in a precarious position, receiving accountability letters from various international organizations daily. Yet, due to internal and external pressures, he dared not reveal anything and could only endure the situation in silence.

"You thought you were helping me, but you actually ruined my plan..."

Artel sighed, realizing that, inadvertently, the troll incident had begun to spread Saruman's name in the wizarding world.

"We'll need to seize another opportunity... The giant oak is still in the system space; you can utilize it..."

Artel set the Daily Prophet aside, checked the time, and saw that it was nearly eleven o'clock.

.....

Christmas Eve.

Certain members of the Shelby family attended Midnight Mass. Artel's two uncles and aunts, in particular, were devout Christians, with Jimmy being especially religious. Artel recalled that, in his childhood, Jimmy would occasionally attend church for repentance. Just for half a day.

It was only later that Artel discovered Jimmy sought atonement after every street shootout, even shouting "Amen" and invoking God's blessings as he pulled the trigger.

"Christmas Eve... Tomorrow is Christmas, and Harry will receive the invisibility cloak. He'll go for nighttime strolls... Perhaps he went to the forbidden area and witnessed Snape and Quirrell."

"Well, I'll observe tomorrow night..."

A smile played on Artel's lips as he reminisced about Snape vaguely sensing someone nearby. However, he couldn't see anything because Harry was wearing the invisibility cloak.

This time, Artel planned to assist Snape and allow him to directly snatch Harry's invisibility cloak.

"With Snape's character, Gryffindor should lose fifty points, and Dumbledore won't find it easy to handle, I presume."

Artel envisioned the scene as entertaining, though unfortunately, it couldn't be captured on film.

In addition to this, he also intended to venture into the Forbidden Forest as Saruman to converse with Shelob. Artel was genuinely curious about when the memories of these Lord of the Rings creatures summoned by the system were formed and what those memories entailed. How did they perceive themselves suddenly appearing in a new world?

"Oh, and since Harry is heading to the forbidden area, I can put forth another piece of parchment... It's a good opportunity."

Artel's eyes gleamed with determination. Having already transcribed two crucial parchments he was now on the brink of creating the third.

"The third one..."

After wrapping up the Halloween Trolls branch, Artel found himself with a bounty of 150 points. A mere 10 points were needed to exchange for a parchment, a trifling cost for someone of his narrative prowess.

Opening the system store, Artel swiftly exchanged for an ancient parchment. Retrieving a quill from the system space, he directed its movements with his mental power.

[Recorded in the year 3018 of the Third Age of Middle Earth, on October 26.

In our quest to annihilate "that thing," we resolved to form the Fellowship of the Ring expedition. As per the ancient prophecy, the main contingent must consist of nine individuals, corresponding to the nine Ringwraiths of the "Dark Lord"...

The resilient Baggins, immune to the allure of "that thing," is a crucial member, destined to join the expedition. And I, the sole wizard, shall lead this perilous journey...

Other members include Aragorn, the Gondor king, Boromir, guardian of the White Tower of Gondor, Legolas, the Elf King's son, Gimli, king of the Dwarves of Turin...

With nine members selected, the Fellowship of the Ring has been formed in the valley. Once the repairs are complete, we shall embark for Mordor, where our mission is to obliterate "that thing" utterly!

The road ahead is fraught with uncertainties and perils, but it must be traversed to safeguard our world.

And you, my old friend, I shall prove your choice wrong. You, who betrayed the Holy White Council, shall eventually dissipate into the shadows!]

The quill glided over the parchment, etching Artel's narration of the tales from the annals of Middle Earth.
