Chapter 88 - New Summon - Durin's Nemesis

"Summon the Lord of the Rings characters!"

With the Elessa gem secured, Artel seized the opportunity to summon a character.

[Ding!]

[Congratulations to the host for successfully summoning [Durin's Nemesis]. The unlocking degree of the Lord of the Rings has increased by 1%]

The system's announcement resonated in Artel's mind, prompting a raised eyebrow, a visible hint of surprise.

A 1% increase in the unlocking degree implied that Durin's nemesis was likely akin to Shelob, unrelated to the Lord of the Rings but associated with the Fellowship of the Ring.

Opening the system space, Artel was greeted by the sight of a colossal Balrog peacefully slumbering—a creature with demon horns adorning its head, engulfed in a fiery crimson blaze, emanating ominous demonic energy.

Artel beheld the majestic, yet terrifying, form of Durin's Nemesis—the Balrog. The fiery glow emanating from the creature illuminated the system space, casting an eerie dance of shadows on the walls. Artel could feel the raw power resonating from this ancient being.

"Wow, this is way more intense than I expected," Artel muttered to himself, eyes fixed on the massive Balrog. The creature's demonic presence seemed to seep into the air, making it hard to breathe.

[ Balrog - Durin's Nemesis.

Originally a Maiar corrupted by Morgoth, the Balrog transformed into its fearsome state. After the First Age's War of Wrath, Durin's nemesis sought refuge in the depths of the Misty Mountains, entering a prolonged slumber.

In the Third Age, awakened by dwarves mining mithril, the Balrog went on a rampage, claiming the lives of many dwarves, including King Dulin VI and his successor. This earned it the title of Durin's nemesis.

Entrenched in Moria's depths, the Balrog thwarted numerous dwarf attempts to reclaim the territory. Its fate collided with the Fellowship of the Ring when, in the Third Age, Gandalf the Grey valiantly faced and perished against Durin's nemesis. ]

Artel marveled, "I didn't expect to actually pull it out."

The first parchment he crafted had detailed the Balrog, although he had been unaware of its name at the time. The parchment's purpose was to unveil the aria of light, capable of healing all dark magic—a crucial piece in Artel's unfolding journey in the Lord of the Rings universe.

Now that the Balrog had been summoned, the first parchment would no longer have any loopholes.

Since Dumbledore had never seen the Balrog, Artel decided to show it to him.

"But it's not okay to drop the Balrog directly near Hogwarts," Artel pondered. With many young wizards in Hogwarts, unleashing the Balrog in their midst would inevitably lead to numerous casualties. Artel wasn't that reckless.

After all, the Balrog was a formidable entity capable of confronting Gandalf. While it was Gandalf in his Grey Robe phase, one must not forget that Gandalf the Grey possessed the Ring of Fire, one of the Three Rings of the Elves. Combined with the power of the Ring of Air, Artel suspected Gandalf might be no weaker than Dumbledore, perhaps even stronger in certain aspects, given Gandalf's proficiency in melee magic.

"In this case, it can't be placed in a crowded area..."

After some thought, Artel recalled Dumbledore mentioning in his office meeting with Professors McGonagall and Snape that Newt Scamander would be heading to a tropical rainforest to investigate the origin of trolls.

"This might be an opportunity."

Artel retrieved the Isil spar, and with a mere thought, Newt's image appeared on it.

At that moment, Newt was traversing a grassy expanse with venomous leopards in the vicinity. Artel consulted the book "Where are the Fantastic Beasts" and confirmed that the venomous leopard was a magical creature unique to East Africa.

"East Africa... He should be heading to the rainforest of the Congo River Basin?"

Artel harbored a hunch that the tropical rainforest in the Congo River Basin ranked as the second-largest in the world. Africa's uniqueness promised a magical menagerie dwarfing even the renowned creatures of the Amazon rainforest.

It made sense why Newt sought clues about William in this enchanted realm.

"Place Durin's nemesis in the undercurrent channel of the Congo Basin," Artel commanded.

Despite being a fire-type demon, the Balrog wasn't bound by strict environmental preferences. Moria, with its intricate underground rivers, had been its home for millennia. Now, a relocation to the Congo Basin seemed feasible.

The abrupt change might momentarily drive Durin's nemesis into a frenzy, but that was inconsequential—its madness could be a lure for Newt.

"Newt is the main hero of The Fantastic Beasts Film series, after all. He won't just die that easily, right?" Artel pondered, confident in the plot armor Newt might enjoy as the protagonist.
