"Well, well, well. Who do you have here, Ivan?" James, the man who broke the silence, asked as he examined Hannah from head to toe.
His dark brown eyes seemed to sparkle as his gaze lingered on her body. A look of interest filled his eyes as images of him doing nasty things to her and making her cry rushed through his mind.
Ivan, on the other hand, didn't bother to answer. Instead, he calmly put the rifle that he was inspecting back on the table in front of him.
"Have you finally had enough of being urged by Auntie? Can I have her after you're done?" James continued to ramble.
He stood up from his seat and slowly approached Hannah, his eyes never leaving her as he circled around her like a predator assessing its prey.
Hannah's heart pounded in her chest as James's presence loomed over her. She could feel his gaze burning into her, undressing her with his eyes. Panic and revulsion washed over her, but she tried her best to maintain a facade of composure.
He has seen countless beauties due to his line of work. Most of them are seasoned temptresses, but for some reason, James couldn't remove his gaze from Hannah's peerless beauty.
It's almost as if he is caught under a spell that he can't resist. No. It's a temptation that he doesn't want to resist.
Hannah remained frozen in her place, unable to move. She felt her stomach turn as if she were going to vomit as a result of all of the immense fear and anxiety that she was feeling.
She couldn't take her gaze away from the guns on the table in front of the two guys, who were still staring at her, and various horrible thoughts of what was about to happen to her entered her mind, making her dizzier than she already was.
"Will I be killed? It seems like they're in the middle of an illegal transaction and I've become a witness. Will I never see my siblings and friends again?" she asked herself.
Ivan's smile widened as he observed James's reaction to Hannah, whose eyes were welling up with tears.
"Ah, James. You always have such an appetite," Ivan said, his voice deep and smooth.
"But let's not forget our manners. This lovely lady here is our guest, after all"
James, however, didn't listen to him and proceeded to do as he pleased.
"What's your name, beautiful?" he asked. He then acted as if he were about to touch her face.
As James leaned in closer, his face mere inches away from Hannah's, she instinctively reacted with a swift and well-practiced move from years of taekwondo training.
Her hand went up, aiming for his weak area, and she struck him square in the throat.
James was taken aback and choked as a result of the blow. The force of Hannah's attack knocked him off balance, causing him to stumble backward and crash into a nearby table, making the guns on it clatter on the floor.
Ivan's eyes widened a bit, impressed by Hannah's unexpected burst of strength and agility. He watched the chaos unfold with a mixture of amusement and curiosity, allowing the situation to play out before intervening.
Despite his surprise, James quickly recovered from the initial shock, a mixture of anger and excitement flashing across his face. His eyes were now filled with a dangerous glint.
He thought the petite girl in front of him was simply lovely, that she was weak and would be unable to do anything but weep out of fear when he harassed her, but he was proven wrong, and that angered him.
As James lunged toward Hannah with a renewed sense of aggression, Ivan stepped forward, his towering presence casting a shadow over the room.
"Enough," he commanded, his voice firm.
Without allowing him any more opportunity to create more ruckus than he already did, Ivan, ordered James and the other guy, Daniel, to leave.
"Daniel, James, leave us," he said. His dark pupils are hidden beneath his messy hair, but even so, the chilling threat brought by his tone was heard clearly by everyone in the room.
Daniel and James exchanged glances, their expressions filled with reluctance. However, they knew better than to disobey Ivan's direct orders, especially when his tone carried such a chilling warning.
Reluctantly, Daniel and James made their way towards the door. James didn't forget to cast one last look filled with rage at Hannah before disappearing from the room.
As soon as Daniel, who had just departed, lightly shut the door behind Ivan, a deafening silence filled the entire room once more, keeping Hannah on her toes.
She was secretly trembling in her place, her eyes darting everywhere around the room in search of a possible way to escape.
Ivan's gaze never wavered from Hannah, his eyes locked onto her with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine. His smile returned, but this time it held a hint of darkness beneath its charming facade.
"Ah, there's no need to be so jumpy, my dear," Ivan said, his voice sounding smooth and seductive as he walked back to his seat and sat comfortably in it.
"You're safe here with me, for now. I don't bite... unless you want me to" He smirked.
Ivan's presence scares Hannah even though he's obviously smiling. Her knees trembled in fear with his gaze alone and she didn't dare to speak.
Ivan took a long drag from his cigarette, the smoke curling around his lips as he exhaled slowly. He observed Hannah with a calculating gaze, his eyes flickering with a hint of amusement at her unease.
Hannah's mind raced as she assessed her options. The door behind Ivan was her only chance at escape, but she knew she would have to get past him first.
Hannah is certain that because she has trained in martial arts since she was a child, she has a good chance of beating up the man. However, the man has guns just in front of him.
"Between my fist and a bullet, it's pretty obvious which one is more destructive in terms of both speed and power," she reasoned to herself, not daring to make any sudden movements.
Just as she's looking at the door with a determined look in her eyes, Ivan is also looking at her face, studying every inch of it.
"How are you, Hannah?" he asked after a while, breaking the silence in the room which startled Hannah.
Hannah's heart skipped a beat as Ivan addressed her by her name, a chill running down her spine. She couldn't understand how he knew her name, but she immediately realized that he must have done his research.
Panic threatened to consume her, but she forced herself to maintain a composed facade. She shifted her gaze from the door to meet Ivan's intense stare, desperately trying to gauge his intentions.
"Who are you? Why am I here?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly. Ivan had yet to answer her when she asked again.
"H-how much do you need?" she stuttered while looking at him with a guarded look.
When he heard what she said, Ivan couldn't stop himself, and he burst into laughter, which startled Hannah even more.
"D-do you think I kidnapped you for money?" Ivan asked as he tried his best to hold his laughter.
She knows she has done nothing wrong to the man in front of her, so the only reason she can think of for him to kidnap her is for the ransom that her family can offer to her kidnapper.
"Then, if it's not for the ransom, why did you kidnap me?" Hannah asked again in a low voice.
Ivan's laughter slowly subsided, and a sly smile crept onto his face as he observed Hannah's confusion. However, instead of answering her, Ivan casually opened the drawer beside him and pulled out a gold pistol.
Hannah's heart skipped a beat when she saw him look at her with a malicious glint in his eyes after getting his gun. She couldn't help but wince when Ivan suddenly got up from his seat.
"W-what? Did I say something wrong?" Hannah thought to herself as she trembled in fear even more.
He raised the golden pistol, his fingers caressing the cold metal with an unsettling familiarity. Ivan stood up from his seat and took a stroll around the room, his eyes never leaving Hannah's quivering form.
The mere presence of the gun in his hand sent a chill down her spine, the weight of its potential violence hanging heavily in the air. He then stopped circling and approached her.
Ivan looked as if he were a lion stalking its prey, and with each step that he took towards her, Hannah also took a step back.
