"A Vampire?" Rose picked up the book and continued to read it as I sat on the table, "That sounds like extra trouble."
"It is not just extra trouble, my kingdom will be ruined if that is true." She looked up at me, "Azriel, you have to fill the spot my father left open."
"What spot?"
"My father was the minister of defense, when he got arrested that post has been left vacant. And if it continues to remain vacant, the king will replace him with someone else. That is why you need to fill in for him."
"I am not a part of this kingdom, I cannot possibly take that role, besides this was not part of our agreement."
"The agreement was that you'll protect me."
"Yes."
"This is the only way you can protect me right now,"
