Minor change: Rukia to Momo Hinamori. I have already updated the last chapter.
-------------------------------------------------------
The Fourth Division barracks were divided into front and back courtyards. In the front courtyard, directly across from the main gate, was the treatment room. Patients brought in through the main gate would be taken directly into the treatment room for medical care.
On both sides of the main gate were two duty rooms where the squad leaders of the healing teams would wait. These duty rooms were also used as waiting rooms, especially when there were many casualties and the healing teams were overwhelmed. Minor injured would wait there for treatment.
Yamahiko hurriedly entered the waiting room and immediately spotted Renji Abarai, Izuru Kira, and Momo Hinamori sitting in a corner.
Renji Abarai had a wound on his left shoulder, leaving a gruesome gash that had been preliminarily treated but still appeared long and narrow.
Izuru Kira had a scar on his cheek, and Momo Hinamori had injured her ankle, sitting there with her legs stretched out, looking somber.
Yamahiko walked over quickly and asked softly, "Are you guys alright?"
"Yamahiko? What are you doing here?" Renji looked somewhat surprised upon seeing Yamahiko.
Yamahiko looked at the three of them and said, "I received news from the Patrol Team that students from the Shin'o Academy were attacked and seriously injured. I was worried about you, so I came to check on you."
Renji sighed and said, "We're not hurt, but..."
Momo Hinamori gave a bitter smile and added, "Many of our classmates suffered severe injuries."
"Let me treat Renji first." Yamahiko approached Renji, extending his hand to use Kaido to heal him. Renji's wound gradually closed up.
Renji Abarai was surprised and asked, "You can use Kaido?"
Yamahiko replied, "I've only learned some basic healing techniques, enough to treat minor wounds."
Kaido was typically taught in the fifth grade. As long as there was talent, students could enter the Healing Techniques Training Course in the sixth grade. After strengthening their Kaido, they could join the 4th Division upon graduation.
Yamahiko could use Kaido for treatment, but its effect was weak, required both hands, and was slow. However, in times with many injured patients, he could still be of assistance.
While treating Renji, Yamahiko asked, "Renji, what exactly happened?"
Renji Abarai began to recount what had occurred, and it matched Yamahiko's memory. They had followed Shuhei Hisagi, Hotaru Kanisawa, and Aoga, all sixth-grade students, to the World of the Human for practical experience in Konsō(soul burial). However, they had encountered a massive Menos Grande attack. Hotaru Kanisawa was Killed by the giant Hollow, and Aoga in his pursuit of vengeance, he was seriously injured as well.
In order to allow the other students to escape, Shuhei Hisagi had taken the initiative to confront the Menos Grande, hoping that the other students could get away safely.
Renji Abarai, Momo Hinamori, and Izuru Kira went to help Shuhei Hisagi fend off the attacks from the Menos Grande. However, there were too many Menos Grande, and those who had taken the initiative to confront them could only handle one each.
As for those who attempted to escape back through the Dangai, most of them were attacked by the Menos Grande, resulting in heavy casualties. There were less than ten people with minor injuries, while nearly thirty were seriously wounded.
Renji sighed and said, "If it weren't for Captain Sosuke Aizen and Vice-Captain Gin Ichimaru arriving in time, we might not have survived."
Momo Hinamori agreed, "We should indeed be grateful to Captain Aizen."
Seeing the three of them praising Aizen, Yamahiko felt deeply angered. It wasn't them who saved you; it was them who harmed you.
These Menos were all catalyzed by Aizen, possessing immense power. How could you express gratitude to the one responsible for all of this?
But Yamahiko couldn't voice these thoughts. He had to suppress his anger and continue treating Renji.
Just then, a voice sounded in his ear, "But there are still many who weren't saved."
Yamahiko turned his head and saw Sosuke Aizen calmly walking into the duty room. He wore black-framed glasses and had a gentle appearance, giving him an air of refinement.
"Captain Aizen."
Seeing him, Momo Hinamori stood up excitedly, but her injured leg gave her a sharp pain, causing her to sit back down.
"Don't move. I'll treat you."
Aizen gently pressed down on Momo Hinamori's shoulder and made her sit, then knelt in front of her to administer treatment.
Seeing Aizen treating her so attentively, tears welled up in Momo Hinamori's eyes out of gratitude.
Yamahiko's body stiffened. He hadn't expected Aizen to come here, let alone kneel beside him.
At this moment, Aizen suddenly asked, "You must be Yamahiko, right?"
Yamahiko's heart skipped a beat. How did he know his name? Nevertheless, he managed to contain his panic and asked, "Captain Aizen knows me?"
Aizen nodded and said, "You are a rare genius at the Shin'o Academy, I certainly know about you. I even considered having you join the Fifth Division."
Yamahiko controlled himself, feigning modesty. He replied, "But I still can't compare to your Vice-Captain."
Aizen smiled and asked, "You mean Gin Ichimaru?"
Yamahiko nodded and said, "Senior Gin Ichimaru possesses a sixth-level Reiryoku, graduated in the first year, and immediately became the third seat upon entering the division. As for me, I'm currently just a vice-officer of the detachment."
Aizen smiled and said, "But you're relatively young. Before joining the division, he had spent many years in the Rukongai. You're only fifteen years old now and already have a fifth-level Reiryoku. Your talent is by no means inferior to his."
Hearing this, Yamahiko's heart skipped a beat. How did Aizen know he was fifteen?
He had skipped a grade once, graduated in two years, spent another year after that, and now it was half a year more. To remember his age required retaining these trivial details, which implied a continuous observation.
If it were someone else, Yamahiko wouldn't mind, but with Aizen, he needed to be cautious.
Yamahiko wore an embarrassed expression and said, "I'll still take Senior Gin Ichimaru as my role model."
Aizen nodded, withdrew his hand, and said, "Momo Hinamori, your injury is healed."
Momo Hinamori immediately expressed her gratitude, "Thank you, Captain Aizen."
Aizen waved his hand, then proceeded to treat Kira. After finishing the treatment, Yamahiko had not yet completed his treatment on Renji.
"In that case, I'll go help the others."
Aizen left the duty room. Once he had disappeared beyond the door, Momo Hinamori excitedly said, "Captain Aizen is amazing! He personally treated me."
Renji also nodded and said, "Captain Aizen is incredibly powerful and humble. He's truly an outstanding captain."
Momo Hinamori declared, "I've made up my mind! I want to join the Fifth Division and become one of Captain Aizen's subordinates."
Yamahiko heard this and narrowed his eyes. In history, Momo Hinamori had indeed joined the Fifth Division, becoming one of Aizen's subordinates, and eventually, the vice-captain.
However, the outcome was that she was pierced through by Aizen's sword and later mistakenly by Toshiro Hitsugaya, who also pierced her with his sword.
Yamahiko thought about Momo Hinamori's future fate and didn't want her to join the Fifth Division. So he suggested, "Momo, I think you'd be better suited for the Thirteenth Division's Purification Unit. You can purify souls and help save more of them."
"I don't want to go to the Thirteenth Division," Momo Hinamori replied with longing. "The Fifth Division has Captain Aizen, and it's also a rescue division, so I can help others."
Yamahiko felt quite helpless upon hearing this. He knew how history would unfold, but he lacked the ability to change it. Moreover, excessive interference could lead to unnecessary troubles.
Yamahiko shook his head and didn't say anything. Izuru touched his cheek; the scar had disappeared without a trace. He looked at the injured students around him and said, "I'd like to learn Kaidō, so I can save more people."
Renji chuckled and said, "In that case, you should join the Fourth Division."
Kira nodded and said, "Going to the Fourth Division sounds good too. I can help a lot of people."
Yamahiko thought that perhaps it was for this reason that he joined the Fourth Division, but he didn't know why he ended up in the Fifth Division later.
Renji Abarai said, "As for me, I plan to become a Shinigami first, so whichever division invites me, I'll go there."
Yamahiko suddenly remembered that Renji Abarai, Izuru, and Momo Hinamori were highly regarded by Aizen due to this battle. They were invited to join the Fifth Division upon graduation, but Izuru Kira declined and went to the Fourth Division's Healing Squad. Renji Abarai and Momo Hinamori joined the Fifth Division, but because Renji was hard to control, he was transferred to the Eleventh Division many years later.
Although it had only been a few years, Yamahiko thought it was better not to establish a connection with the Fifth Division. So he suggested to Renji Abarai, "Renji, if you want intense battles, I can recommend a great place for you."
Renji Abarai looked at Yamahiko and asked, "Where?"
Yamahiko smiled and said, "The Eleventh Division. They are all battle enthusiasts there. You've met the Eleventh Division's captain, Kenpachi Zaraki."
Renji Abarai raised an eyebrow upon hearing this. "The Eleventh Division?"
Yamahiko nodded and continued, "That's right, the Eleventh Division is the Gotei 13's frontline combat unit, specializing in direct confrontations. They are incredibly powerful. Of course, they only accept fearless and brave students; ordinary individuals can't get in."
"Fearless and brave?"
Renji Abarai's eyes lit up. "That's me!"
Yamahiko chuckled and added, "And they don't use Kidō in combat; they believe in the strength of direct confrontation."
"That's right, that's right."
Renji Abarai, who wasn't particularly skilled in Kidō, agreed wholeheartedly. He laughed and said, "Alright, it's settled. I'm going to the Eleventh Division."
Yamahiko heard this and breathed a slight sigh of relief. Although he hadn't spent much time in the Fifth Division in the original story, reducing contact with Aizen was enough for him.
Now, Renji Abarai's fate had undergone a minor change. Although he couldn't change history yet, he knew that one day he would uncover Aizen's conspiracy.
Yamahiko withdrew his healing hand and said, "All done. Renji, try moving your arm."
"Very good, there's no issue anymore. Thanks a lot, Yamahiko."
After thanking Yamahiko, Renji Abarai moved his arm a bit and stood up. He said, "Now that the treatment is over, let's head back to school."
"Sure, let's go."
The four of them got up and left the Fourth Division. Yamahiko followed them, intending to see them off back to school before leaving.
Inside the division barracks, Retsu Unohana stood beside Sosuke Aizen, smiling, and said, "There were too many injured this time, and there weren't enough medical personnel. Captain Aizen, your assistance in treating them was a tremendous help."
Aizen smiled and replied, "I'm glad I could be of help. These students are the future protectors of the Gotei 13."
Retsu Unohana nodded and said, "I'll go check on other patients. I appreciate your help here, Captain Aizen."
"Of course, Captain Unohana, please feel free to go."
After their brief conversation, Aizen refocused his attention on treating the injured. He continued to treat several patients in succession, and his forehead was covered in tiny beads of sweat, showing how strenuous the task was.
In the eyes of these injured individuals, Aizen, who saved and treated them, appeared kind and powerful, someone to admire. Many of them wished to become subordinates of Captain Aizen, to fight, train, and live under his command.
