Assassination and Detaining Techniques are required unique anesthetic techniques. While detaining involves puncturing the target's body with the palm to deliver a potent anesthetic. While Yamahiko is not ready for assassination techniques, he is learning about human anatomy to identify weak points and solidify his foundation.
Both of these techniques have strong effects, even high-level Shinigami individuals can't avoid them.
Suì-Fēng explained the techniques to Yamahiko, but there's currently no way to practice them, so he'll have to figure it out on his own.
Moreover, this combat style is used infrequently, only in special situations.
After Yamahiko remembered all of this, the special training session was considered finished by Suì-Fēng. She told Yamahiko to come back on Friday and was about to leave.
However, after taking a few steps, she noticed that Yamahiko was following her.
Suì-Fēng stopped and looked at Yamahiko, asking, "Is there something else you need?"
Yamahiko coughed and said, "Captain Suì-Fēng, I'd like to borrow some money."
Suì-Fēng looked at Yamahiko, somewhat surprised, and asked, "Borrow money?"
Yamahiko nodded and said, "I didn't bring much money with me, and I've already spent it all these past few days. I'm completely broke and won't be able to make it until I receive my salary."
Yamahiko's money was what he had left from his previous job, and it wasn't much. He had spent it all on food in just a few days.
Being in a division was different from being at the Shin'o Academy. The latter provided meals, accommodation, and daily necessities, but in a division, you had to spend your own money on food and daily supplies.
Yamahiko had originally wanted to borrow money from Marechiyo Ōmaeda, but who knew he wouldn't even show up at the division today.
Upon hearing Yamahiko's words, Suì-Fēng said, "Alright, come with me."
Suì-Fēng led Yamahiko back to the division's office, took out a money bag, and handed a stack of bills to Yamahiko, asking, "Is this enough?"
Yamahiko looked at the four zeros on the thick stack of bills and quickly said, "A hundred thousand is enough; this is too much."
As a vice-captain of patrol corps, Yamahiko's monthly income was two hundred thousand, which was roughly equivalent to yen.
Suì-Fēng selected ten notes and handed them to Yamahiko. After receiving them, Yamahiko smiled and said, "Thank you, Captain Suì-Fēng. I'll be sure to repay you as soon as possible."
Suì-Fēng waved her hand and said, "You don't need to repay such a small amount."
Suì-Fēng was extremely wealthy. As the captain of the Second Division, the commander-in-chief of the Onmitsukidō, and the leader of the Executive Militia, she received three salaries. Additionally, she had a large amount of training funds at her disposal. Moreover, it was Marechiyo Ōmaeda who paid for the repairs to the division after if there is damage. This allowed Suì-Fēng to accumulate most of her wealth.
So, Suì-Fēng didn't care about a mere hundred thousand.
But Yamahiko said, "Then, let me treat Captain to a meal."
Suì-Fēng was about to refuse, but Yamahiko smiled and said, "It's a meal then"
Yamahiko turned and ran out of the room, leaving Suì-Fēng feeling somewhat uncomfortable.
He was the second person to borrow money from her and the second person to say they wanted to treat her to a meal.
The first time was, of course, that woman.
...
After receiving the money, Yamahiko left the division directly and went to the shopping district to buy some items.
His current quarters in the division were very basic, and Yamahiko would be staying there for many years to come, so he needed to buy some things.
Yamahiko planned to buy an alarm clock. He had decided to wake up an hour early every day for an hour of training.
At the same time, he intended to buy a keychain to string all his keys together.
He also needed toiletries, notebooks, pens, and a bookshelf.
Yamahiko bought many things, spending over forty thousand. When he was about to leave with these items, a voice sounded in his ear, "Little Yamahiko, it's really you."
Yamahiko turned around and saw the pink-haired Yachiru Kusajishi standing there, holding a paper bag in her left hand and taking a piece of gold candy from it with her right hand, stuffing it into her mouth.
Yamahiko smiled and said, "Vice-Captain Yachiru, are you here to buy candy?"
"Yeah, just buying some sweets."
Yachiru ate another piece of gold candy and looked at the Shinigami uniform on Yamahiko. She asked, "Are you a Shinigami now? Which division are you in?"
Yamahiko replied, "I've joined the Second Division."
Yachiru nodded and said, "The Second Division, huh? That place might not suit you."
Yamahiko had heard this phrase more than once, and all he could do was smile wryly.
Yachiru waved her hand and said, "I'm leaving. If you have time, you can come to the Eleventh Division to hang out."
"I'll make sure to visit."
Yamahiko agreed, and it wasn't just a formality. The Eleventh Division was a combat division, and their combat style was suited for gaining experience through actual battles. They would be excellent opponents if he wanted to increase his combat skills through real combat.
After Yachiru left, Yamahiko returned to his quarters and started arranging the rotation tasks for the next day. Then, he sat on his bed and continued communicating with his Zanpakuto.
However, he still didn't receive a response. It seemed that he hadn't gained its recognition yet.
Yamahiko knew he didn't need to rush. The first thing he needed to do was improve himself.
Thinking this, Yamahiko took out a piece of paper and began to create a detailed daily schedule.
First, there was work. Every day, Yamahiko had to handle the tasks of the Patrol Unit. Especially since Marechiyo Ōmaeda had delegated all the work to Yamahiko, he had a lot to do.
But because there hadn't been any significant threats in decades, the Patrol Unit's work was relatively light, and Yamahiko didn't need to personally oversee every security point. He just needed to divide the areas and let the patrol teams handle the rotations themselves.
Yamahiko needed to allocate six hours each day for work, a non-negotiable commitment.
In addition to work, Yamahiko woke up at six in the morning every day, took half an hour for washing up and having breakfast in the cafeteria.
Then, from six thirty to eight in the morning, he trained. He trained for two hours, devoting one hour to swordsmanship and another hour to hand-to-hand combat. He chose these two martial arts because they engaged his whole body as much as possible.
After training, he went to the office until eleven in the morning, which meant three hours of work. He then took a lunch break.
After lunch, he returned to his room for spirit infusion practice until two in the afternoon, then went to the office for three more hours of work until five in the evening, when he finished work for the day.
With work done, he had dinner around seven in the evening, and from around seven to nine, he trained in Kidō and Shunpo.
At about nine, he returned to his room to read books and prepare for rest.
This daily schedule provided Yamahiko with four hours of training time and two hours for spiritual infusion daily, all within the confines of his working hours.
Of course, he had to adjust his office hours on Wednesdays and Fridays to accommodate special training sessions with Captain Suì-Fēng.
After creating the schedule, Yamahiko taped it to the corner of his desk so he could see it every day.
This schedule allowed Yamahiko to make the most of his time each day. While it might be monotonous and left no room for entertainment, Yamahiko didn't mind.
He needed to improve his skills as quickly as possible, and becoming powerful meant that life was destined to be bland and tasteless.
