"Uncle, I found a picture of my dad under your pillow yesterday," Garvin immediately turned to Sebastian, who was sitting in his lap. For a few seconds, he remained silent, surprised by what Sebastian had found.
"Yeah, Adrian might have accidentally left it there," lying to a child-like Sebastian felt right in this situation. After all, he couldn't admit that he intentionally placed the photo there for Sebastian to find before bedtime.
"Uncle, my dad sometimes asks me what I'm doing here with you," Sebastian whispered.
Garvin was intrigued and asked, "And what do you tell him?"
"I tell him we're just hanging out, and sometimes we talk about my dad being angry all the time," Sebastian said with a smile, possibly imagining his parents getting angry.
