Chapter 19 - 19. Rest in Peace

"Where is Shaga?" Adrian asked when he didn't find Shaga in his class.

"We don't know, since two days he hasn't come in." One of the men replied as if he didn't care and then he continued, "It may be related to rumors of Leon's disappearance, he's afraid of being questioned by the police because the last Leon and his friend were seen with him."

Adrian's face darkened and he regretted his decision not to rebel harder at that time when his brother took him away. Leon's disappearance was already good, but Shaga's loss was a disaster for Adrian. He without saying anything squealed away. In a gloomy state, Adrian deliberately threw a sharp pheromone for people not to approach him. School hours are so slow that he feels like he wants to change quickly and run away from here quickly, but it will add new problems.

Shaga hasn't been seen for two days, Adrian feels like he almost lost his mind without seeing the red-haired man all day. The only person to blame is Garvin, Adrian firmly believes his brother must have been involved.

Adrian knocked on the door of Shaga's residence when just a moment ago, he still didn't get an answer from inside. He sniffed the air, still not finding any pheromone left from Shaga here. Alpha in Adrian's body roared realizing that his partner Shaga was nowhere to be found and the feeling of loss almost dominated every crevice in his heart. Adrian knocked once more, still not getting the desired answer which made him sigh full of disappointment.

"Hey, what's the matter? You are making noise everywhere?" A voice from beside Adrian caused his head to find a middle-aged woman wearing shabby nightwear.

"Where is Shaga?" Adrian asked directly, inadvertently raising his voice slightly, impatiently at this person older than him who might be the owner of this place.

"They moved in two days ago, I don't know the reason. They came in the middle of the night with their suitcases and told me they were leaving here and there was no way they could come back," she said, looking at Adrian with probing eyes. "Shaga's friend?"

Adrian nodded perfunctory, his mind was already full of possibilities. There's no way Shaga would have just moved away if nothing had happened to him the last time Adrian saw him, he was fine. So what happens when Adrian is not present by his side? Did Garvin deliberately create a diversion on Adrian?

"He also said he would take care of his school transfer."

Adrian smiled politely at the closing of the conversation, he immediately darted away. He reached into his cell phone from his pocket for the fifty-second time calling Shaga without any answer on the other end. Shaga didn't answer his call, making a small hole inscribed in Adrian's heart.

Why did Shaga do this? Didn't he realize that this hurt both of them? Shaga simply leaves without saying anything to him when Shaga himself finds out that they have bonded.

Adrian staggered to the dark street corner on the small road between the two tall buildings, his gaze trembling for an instant. He crouched down leaning against the wall to calm himself down, which felt futile. Shaga doesn't know where he is now, but Adrian feels discomfort and emptiness stretching over him indicating how far Shaga has gone from his side.

Adrian pressed his eyes, but it ended in vain as tears still escaped from the small remaining cracks. Is this because of himself who has treated Shaga severely? If it were true, Adrian would punish himself, as long as Shaga didn't walk away from him. Shaga couldn't live far away from Shaga anymore, imagining the time he passed without seeing the red hair made his mind feel even more chaotic.

"Adrian."

Garvin's sudden presence in front of him proved that Adrian had lost his vigilance. He didn't lift his face nor did he stop his silent cry, Adrian's long fingers crawling up his hair to grip him and then ruffle. He heard footsteps drifting away.

Adrian was this messed up, he couldn't imagine if Shaga felt what Adrian felt at this time. Omega will feel it too, the despair of sadness from his partner Alpha, Adrian can't help it, he also wants Shaga to know, that without the red-haired man, his life is completely different. Dark.

Adrian didn't want to re-enter the dark and empty room again. No, he can't. Adrian closed his eyes tightly, bringing up Shaga's face to save him once again. Their happiness in their previous lives, remembering how their skin touched, their eyes met, the soothing pheromones, Adrian needed it all. He needs Shaga in his life and can't stay away from Shaga like this for too long.

"Adrian, drink this." Garvin suddenly came back, he aligned his body position just like Adrian while giving him a medicine tube and a bottle of bottled water. Adrian immediately grabbed it quickly, he almost poured out all the contents of the medicine if Garvin didn't hold it back. "Just one grain."

Too long waiting for his reaction if Adrian just swallowed it, he immediately bit the medicine that tasted very bitter and then pushed it into his stomach by drinking half of the water. Adrian couldn't help raising his voice, "He's gone."

Silence fell again, there was only a rush of breath from him. The pain of losing it is still there. Adrian's tears flowed more and more without him being able to hold back. The feeling in his oral cavity held him back from roaring and growling, or maybe hurting himself, he didn't want to lose his mind even for a moment. "He's gone, how is my life?"

"Adrian, let's go home to calm yourself down." Garvin's hand was about to touch it, but Adrian immediately dismissed it. He could smell the faint Beta pheromone from Garvin and suddenly hoped that it was Omega Shaga's pheromone that was there.

"No."

"Adrian, then don't be there. You don't respect someone's death," Garvin said calmly, but it made Adrian look towards him asking for an explanation. If Garvin kills someone he cares about, then—

"That's the ashes of the corpse, don't step on it. Let them rest in peace."

Adrian's eyes rolled down, and instantly he stood up, only to realize the mound he had stepped on. It was slightly blackish sandy ash with white spots very different from the surrounding soil, scattered where Adrian had originally been there. His eyes shifted to the side and were surprised to find a medium-sized plain clay urn leaning against the wall with a white cloth poking out of it, and the most surprising thing was a beaded bracelet that Adrian knew belonged lying in front of the urn. He hoped that his understanding was a mistake. "What is this?"

"Leon and his friend. There is no need to recite prayers, you should go home to rest."
