Chapter 9 - THE LOST CITY OF "AL-AWJAM"

Simon clenched his teeth, jokingly "I wouldn't want to go into wonderland with you, so eat alone and sleep alone."

Ivy, who was seated beside him, bursted out laughing. Cecilia asked what was so funny, and Ivy explained that she had just remembered a funny incident from school. As they waited anxiously, Cecilia finally took a bite of the cake. They watched her gestures and expressions, relieved that she seemed to enjoy it.

"Mmmmhhhh! This is wonderful" Cecila said, with her mouth choked with cake.

After a few more slices, they grew impatient, wondering why the potion hadn't taken effect yet. Just as they exchanged glances, Cecilia's head fell into the cake, fast asleep. They quickly lifted her and carried her to her room, trying not to wake her.

As they struggled with Cecilia's weight, Simon couldn't help but laugh

"Jasmine, your mom weighs like a baby elephant, and she doesn't even look her weight."

Jasmine warned Simon to be careful not to touch her mom's chest, and they laughed as they continued their withefforts. Finally, they managed to lay Cecilia on her bed. Ivy gently, took the key off Cecilia's neck and they hurriedly made their way to the vault.

Jasmine led the way, and when they reached the door, they used the key to open it. To their surprise, the vault was empty.

Simon sarcastically lamented, "Of course, we've gone through all this stress for nothing."

Jasmine then asked Ivy to quickly fetch a knife from the kitchen. Simon's eyes widened in shock

"Wait, wait, I knew this wouldn't be easy, but did I have to be the sacrificial lamb?", he playfully cried out.

Ivy returned with the knife, and Jasmine swiftly cut her finger, smearing the blood on the wall as she mumbled some ancient words. Magically, the treasures revealed themselves. Jasmine explained that her mom must have used a blocking spell, and only a Harrison's blood could lift it.

The sight of the artifacts in the vault left them astonished. Precious jewelleries and other valuable items filled the space. Simon was particularly dumbfounded

"With all this wealth, your family could never be poor." he said, staring at all the treasures.

Ivy's eyes landed on a beautiful golden compass, and she grabbed it. "This should do," she said, her voice filled with excitement.

They quickly locked the vault and hurried back to clean the table, making sure to leave no trace before Jasmine's dad returned from his yoga class.

Jasmine carefully wiped the cake off of Cecilia's face while she slept peacefully. Ivy delicately placed the key back around Cecilia's neck, being careful not to disturb her slumber. Once the task was complete, they quietly made their way downstairs, disposing of any evidence of the cake. Ivy and Simon decided to venture to the witch's hut, while Jasmine stayed behind to keep an eye on Cecilia incase she woke up.

Not long after Ivy and Simon left, Ambrose returned from his yoga class and inquired about Cecilia's whereabouts. Jasmine informed him that she was taking a nap, not wanting to reveal the cake incident.

Meanwhile, Jasmine and Simon arrived at the witch's hut. Following the witch's previous instructions, they knocked on the door three times before entering. The witch, surprised by their prompt arrival, sat in an old, creaky chair.

"I didn't expect to see you so soon" the witch said.

"The opportunity presented itself and we had to act quickly". Ivy responded .

Impressed by Ivy's determination, the witch commended her. Ivy then presented the golden compass to the witch, who carefully examined it, sensing its immense power.

"This compass was used by your ancestors to locate the first dragon's egg in the age of the dragons" the witch revealed, still examining the compass.

Simon, taken aback, couldn't help but ask "Wait ... dragons truly existed? What else do i not know?".

The witch nodded, confirming the existence of dragons in the distant past.

Eager to know their next task, Ivy anxiously awaited .After a moment of hesitation, the witch spoke up

"I must warn you that the upcoming task would be the most dangerous yet. It involves a matter of life and death and it would be unlike anything you have ever encountered. Before embarking on this journey, you must master the magic of necromancy, as it was crucial to your success", the witch said.

Simon laughed, "So we've gotten to the point of summoning the spirit of the dead? Perhaps we should start by summoning the spirit of Adam, and ask why he took that stupid fruit from Eve, or we should summon Osama Bin-Laden and ask why he wrecked havoc on people, wait! maybewe could summon Ivy's parents and make all these easier for us, oh no! I have the perfect person to summon, my late granny, because she needs to tell me why she had to take a shit on my favorite bedspread before she passed away" he ranted, grabbing his shirt.

Ivy stifled a laugh, but the witch interrupted, explaining that they must journey through a portal to the lost city of "Al-Awjam". There, they would find the tomb of Elisha and retrieve the mantle of Elijah.

Suddenly, Simon collapsed to the floor, and started laughing. He struggled to catch his breath as he questioned

" Would you honestly embark on such jouney yourself if someone sent you? It's better you end us right here, instead of trying to prolong our demise. I can't die a virgin!" Simon cried out.

Ivy to burst into laughter. " You're really a virgin? You haven't been with anyone? she asked.

Simon stood up, dusted off his pants, and nodded in embarrassment.

Back at home, Jasmine anxiously paced back and forth. The sleeping potion should have worn off by now, she thought, and she grew worried and scared. Doubts crept into her mind, wondering if they had made a mistake with the potion.

Just as she contemplated seeking Ambrose's help, she heard murmuring from Cecilia's room. Jasmine rushed in and embraced her mother tightly.

Still groggy from sleep, Cecilia questioned "what happened? The last thing i remember was eating the cake".

Jasmine explained that Cecilia had felt drowsy while eating the cake, so they helped her to her room to rest. Cecilia inquired about the remaining cake, but Jasmine lied, claiming they had eaten it all. Though skeptical, Cecilia couldn't argue and decided to let it go.

Back to the witch's hut, Simon and Ivy weighed the risks of embarking on the journey. Ivy asked the witch if there was any alternative, but the witch replied that there was not.
