Chapter 24 - Bad News (2)

In a dimly lit chamber, shrouded in an aura of darkness and despair, a figure sat upon a bed surrounded by several women, their forms desiccated like mummies. The man, none other than Jin Yasha, the formidable Demon Sect Master, gripped the throat of one of the women, and with a macabre transformation, she turned into a lifeless husk.

With a sense of malevolence radiating from him, Jin Yasha discarded the lifeless body after draining it of its essence—soul, blood, and flesh. He then called out in a voice that resonated with power, "Lilith!"

A woman entered the room, her presence oozing seductive allure. She was Lilith Mouyin, a stunning beauty clad in a tight-fitting red attire, fanning herself with an air of sophistication.

"Yes, Sect Master," Lilith replied with a sultry tone as she gracefully approached.

Jin Yasha's eyes bore into her, his anger palpable. "Where are my other sacrifices?"

"We can't contact them, Master."

"What? It's been almost 2 Week since We Asked them !" The very air seemed to vibrate with tension as Jin Yasha's oppressive killing intent caused those nearby to gasp for breath, some even fainting.

"Calm down, Master! We dispatched three Nascent Soul disciples and one of the Grand Elders, Yan Shaohuang, who is in the Soul Formation Realm, to the Frost Dragon Sect to investigate and punish the culprits. They should have arrived by now," Lilith reassured him.

"Tell Yan Shaohuang to eliminate the three useless ones. It's been almost 2 Weeks , and they can't even find the one who dared to cross us! Replace them with fresh recruits."

"Understood, Sect Master. We have gathered some sacrifices from other sources as well." Several individuals entered the room, and a tail-shaped aura extracted their life force, leaving them desiccated like the others.

"Anyway, where is my Dew of Transcendence Tree?" Jin Yasha inquired.

"They are still pursuing the disciples who possess the item."

"Damn it! The treasure is meant for my son due to his exceptional physique! Tell the Elder to retrieve the item for me!"

"What about the Frost Dragon Sect?"

"Just kill some of them. There's no need to fear. They are a mere last-ranked sect on the brink of extinction. We need only compensate some other sects to turn a blind eye," Jin Yasha declared.

He instructed Yan Shaohuang to annihilate the Frost Dragon Sect, exploiting their weakness as the sect master was the sole cultivator in the Soul Formation Realm. While he couldn't slay the sect master himself, he could eliminate those around him and buy time to acquire the Dew of Transcendence Tree.

"Very well, Sect Master." Yan Shaohuang saluted and departed.

"Bring me more sacrificial humans today!" Before leaving, Jin Yasha directed Lilith with a sinister smile.

Slide!! the room Closed and lilith taking A comunication Jade to contact the grand Elder Yan Shaohuang.

"Grand Elder Yan, punish those three in the Golden Core stage who were overseeing the bandits. After that, head to the Frost Dragon Sect to investigate the killer. The Sect Master insists that you retrieve the Dew of Transcendence Tree from their disciple's possession without fail. If they resist, you have the Sect Master's authority to eliminate them."

"Very well, we will reach the Demon Sect branch headquarters by morning!" Yan Shaohuang responded with a confident smile.

Four days prior, the Demon Sect had detected a dimming in the Soul Stone's light of the Durak's Marauders. Upon this discovery, the Sect Master had ordered Elira Demon Frost, Malachi BloodShadow, and Verik Darkflame, the individuals managing the bandits in the Frost Dragon Sect, to identify and apprehend the killer. However, a week had passed since their assignment with no updates. Thus, Grand Elder Lilith instructed Grand Elder Yan to visit the Frost Dragon Sect, a journey that would take four days due to the considerable distance from the Demon Sect.

Ryujin, standing in front of the bandit stronghold, surveyed his surroundings. Over the past week, he had systematically destroyed all the bandit strongholds in the vicinity of the Frost Dragon Sect. Before him lay what should be the final bandit stronghold. In the process, he had saved over a thousand people who had been held captive by the bandits.

"Sigh! This should be the last bandit stronghold near the Frost Dragon Sect," Ryujin muttered as he stood a distance away from the stronghold. He had already taken care of the scouts sent by the bandits in the past seven days. They had failed to locate their leader and had fallen victim to Ryujin's detection skills. Even if they had managed to find him, it would have taken time to report back to their main stronghold.

Ryujin activated his skills to survey the area and discovered that there were approximately 53 individuals in the vicinity of the bandit stronghold. Among them was one individual at the Foundation Establishment Realm, while the rest were at the Qi Refinement and Mortal Warrior levels. Ryujin contemplated eliminating them all at once, but he noticed that there were heads impaled on each of the wooden stakes surrounding the bandit stronghold. This made him furrow his brow in concern.

"These damn bandits!" Ryujin cursed under his breath. Over the past few days, he had learned that these bandits not only engaged in robbery but also committed heinous acts such as rape and murder purely for their own pleasure. Furthermore, they sent individuals with cultivation veins, women, and children to their main stronghold in the Demon Sect for some sort of ritual or sacrifice.

Sighing deeply, Ryujin raised his Hitless Sword and muttered to himself, "Almost unsealing the restriction on the Hitless Sword." He carefully read the sword's description, pondering the implications of the upcoming unsealing process.

Having already eliminated 150 branches of the bandits, Ryujin couldn't help but reflect on the grim reality of his actions. Since arriving in this world, he had taken the lives of 9,265 living beings. While many of them were undoubtedly bad people, they were still human. Ryujin clung to his humanity, a part of him that recoiled at the idea of taking human life. However, these humans had behaved like animals, and the stronger ones preyed upon the weaker individuals in the Cultivation World.

"Sigh, I still need to take around 700 more lives to open the restriction after dealing with this last branch," Ryujin muttered as he walked calmly toward the bandit stronghold. The weight of his actions hung heavily on his shoulders, but he understood that it was a necessary sacrifice to achieve his goals and protect the innocent.

Ryujin, who stood in front of the bandit hideout, had spent the past week destroying all the bandit hideouts. In front of him was the last one, and he had already killed the scouts who were searching for their leader over the past seven days. They failed to locate him, and even if they did, it would take time to relay the information back to their main hideout.

Sighing, Ryujin muttered to himself, "This should be the last bandit hideout in the vicinity of the Frost Dragon Sect." He stood at a distance from the hideout, ready to take action. Ryujin had eliminated 150 branches of the bandit organization, and since coming to this world, he had killed 9,265 living beings. Although they were bad people, they were still human, and Ryujin struggled with the fact that he had to kill them. These humans had acted like beasts, with the stronger ones preying on the weaker ones in the Cultivation World.

"Sigh, I still need around 700 more lives to unseal the restriction on the Hitless Sword," Ryujin said as he casually walked toward the hideout.

Using his skills, Ryujin surveyed the area and detected approximately 53 people in and around the bandit hideout. Among them, one was in the Foundation Establishment Realm, while the rest were in the Qi Refinement and Mortal Warrior stages. Ryujin contemplated eliminating them all at once, but he noticed heads mounted on spikes surrounding the hideout, which raised concerns.

"This damn bandit!" Ryujin exclaimed. Over the past few days, he had discovered that these bandits committed heinous acts, including rape and murder, simply for their pleasure. They also sent people with cultivation veins, women, and children to their main hideout in the Demon Sect for some kind of ritual or sacrifice.

Sighing again, Ryujin looked at his Hitless Sword. "Almost unseal the restriction on the Hitless Sword," he muttered as he read the sword's description.

He had killed 150 branches of the bandit organization, but he still needed to sacrifice more lives to fully unseal the sword. Ryujin couldn't help but feel conflicted about the path he was on.

Meanwhile, Ryujin was approached by a group of bandits who ordered him to stop. They threatened him, warning that they would skin him alive if he didn't comply. Ryujin, however, continued walking toward them, unfazed.

"We will skin you if you stay here!" another bandit shouted.

As they raised their weapons and sounded an alarm, more bandits began to gather, surrounding Ryujin with swords, spears, and bows. Undeterred, Ryujin activated his Shadow Sword technique to attract their attention. The bandits, seeing Ryujin not stopping, brandished their weapons menacingly.

"We will skin you if you stay here!" another bandit yelled.

While the bandits threatened him, Ryujin continued his slow but fast approach, using the Languid Velocity technique to give the illusion of slow movement. The bandits trusted their spears, and Ryujin, using his swordplay, deftly avoided their attacks.

Simultaneously, Ryujin slashed the hands of those who had come too close. The bandits were in chaos as they watched their comrades injured.

"Swish! Swish!" Arrows were fired at Ryujin, but he effortlessly dodged them, using his Wind Steps skill to evade.

"Sigh, this is the limit shape for Level 1 Sword Energy," Ryujin muttered as he prepared his next move. He focused his energy, and a hundred beams of light condensed into needle-sized projectiles, targeting the heads of twenty archers.

"Swish, swish, swish!" The beams struck their targets with precision, taking down the archers.

Ryujin didn't stop there. He leaped into the air and used his Elemental Blade Slash technique while spinning. His attack took the form of a circular white slash that aimed at the heads of everyone nearby. Their necks burst with blood, but Ryujin remained untouched due to the thick sword aura surrounding his body. The blood flowed around him like water off a waterproof surface.

Ryujin landed gracefully and surveyed the aftermath. None of the bandits were left alive after his devastating attack. To eliminate any evidence, he performed another Elemental Blade Slash, using his Qi-infused sword to erase any traces.

"Elemental Sword Slash," Ryujin muttered as he swung his sword horizontally. The attack created a deafening explosion, destroying the surrounding area. However, since he had executed the attack horizontally, the resulting crater wasn't too deep. Ryujin had focused on surface destruction to prevent any accidental reveals.

With a sigh of relief, Ryujin thought, "Yosh, I should return to the sect now, before the other elders arrive at this place!"

After destroying the bandit hideout, Ryujin quickly made his way back to the Frost Dragon Sect. In the days following his actions, the elders at the Frost Dragon Sect had become increasingly concerned about the destruction of the bandit hideouts. They had started an investigation but were always one step behind Ryujin's relentless pace of destruction.

In truth, they had wanted to wait for Ryujin, but they were afraid of getting caught up in his attacks and jeopardizing their sect. Instead, they decided to investigate after the destruction had already occurred. This approach also had the benefit of allowing them to recover valuable items and gold from the hideouts.

Ryujin moved swiftly, using his Shadow Mode, and arrived back at his room within 15 minutes. By focusing his Qi on agility, he had become faster and had learned various techniques to strengthen himself with Qi. He had also leveled up quite rapidly.

As Ryujin entered his room, he breathed a sigh of relief. "Safe," he whispered before heading to the bathroom to clean himself. After changing into his sect uniform, he lay down on his bed.

"Sigh, I need 682 more lives to unseal the restriction," Ryujin muttered as he checked his attribute status.

Ryujin reflected on the past seven days, during which he had killed 3 Golden Core cultivators and nearly 10,000 individuals below the Golden Core level. The sheer number of his kills was staggering, but it had also accelerated his leveling process significantly.

He calculated his attribute points, which totaled 1093 without factoring in the blindfold's effect. However, with the Qi bonus, it amounted to nearly 2000 status points. This was equivalent to someone at level 200 in all attributes. However, his pure strength attribute was at 240 points, which was comparable to someone at level 24 but if he pure all the Qi Into Strengh he can take down Golden Core Realm in pure strength.

Ryujin contemplated whether he should allocate his unused status points into his attributes. After considering his formidable strength, the blindfold, and the Nameless Halo, he concluded that he was well-protected against Nascent Soul and Soul Formation cultivators. With this assurance, he decided to save his status points for the time being.

Closing the system window, Ryujin closed his eyes and continued his morning routine. He had approximately two hours left before the sun would rise, and he intended to make the most of it. Ryujin went about his activities as usual, reflecting on the events of the past week and keeping his nocturnal activities a secret from his master, Xiao Mihwa.

In the morning, a great commotion erupted at the front gate of the Frost Dragon Sect. A woman stumbled forward, clearly suffering from a fierce battle. Her clothes were torn and singed, her once-flowing hair now reduced to a burnt, short mess. Her skin appeared pallid due to blood loss, one of her hands was badly injured, almost torn to the bone, while the other was broken and immobile. Her legs were swollen, bleeding, and bruised. Exhausted, she collapsed right in front of the sect's gate.

"Thanks... I've reached the sect..." she murmured, her voice barely audible, before losing consciousness.

The gate guards rushed to her side, alarmed by her condition. "What's wrong?" one of them asked urgently, but there was no response. Hong Ru and Mon Teu exchanged bewildered glances, then carefully turned the woman over.

"It's... it's her!" Hong Ru exclaimed in shock. Mon Teu nodded in agreement, recognizing the battered woman as Laura Yun, a Core Disciple of the Frost Dragon Sect and an older disciple of Elder Xiao Mihwa.

"Hong Ru, bring her to the Healing Pavilion!" Mon Teu urged, his voice filled with panic.

Without hesitation, Hong Ru nodded and lifted Laura Yun gently, swiftly making his way to the Healing Pavilion. Although he was only at the Foundation Establishment level, his urgency and determination allowed him to reach the Healing Pavilion in a mere five minutes. As he rushed Laura Yun to the Healing Pavilion, Mon Teu took a Communication Jade and quickly informed Hall Disciple Elder Suwon.

"Elder Suwon, it's urgent! Something terrible has happened to Senior Disciple Laura Yun. We've sent her to the Healing Pavilion!" Mon Teu reported.

"What's happening?" Elder Suwon inquired urgently.

"We're not sure, but just moments ago, Core Disciple Laura Yun lost consciousness in front of the gate in a horrifying condition. We immediately sent her to the Healing Pavilion."

"WHAT? Alright, thank you for your swift response. Close the gate temporarily, and alert the other guards to increase their vigilance in the vicinity," Elder Suwon commanded.

"Understood. We'll execute the orders," Mon Teu replied.

Elder Suwon then used another Communication Jade to contact Elder Xiao Mihwa, explaining the situation to her before hurrying to the Healing Pavilion herself.

"I'll be there shortly!" Xiao Mihwa responded, her eyes filled with sadness and determination upon hearing the news. She vanished from her location and appeared at the Healing Pavilion within moments.
