Chapter 16 - About The Past (Dream 1)

The blaring alarm clock jolted him out of his thoughts. "I need to get to the office!" he exclaimed, hastily getting out of bed and rushing to the bathroom to freshen up. He quickly dressed in neat attire and headed out to start his day at work.

As he arrived at the office, he was greeted by a daunting sight—two stacks of tasks that required his attention. "Damn, the usual grind," he muttered under his breath, resigning himself to the workload. Ryujin was a graphic designer, responsible for creating designs, animations, and delivering them to clients. It was a demanding job that left him exhausted at the end of each day.

While everyone else headed home, Ryujin remained at the office, working until late into the night. "It's finally done," he sighed with relief, looking at the completed assignments. With a sense of accomplishment, he left the office and headed to a nearby supermarket. He picked up a cheap pack of instant ramen noodles and a couple of boiled eggs, all he could afford and manage for his dinner.

After a simple meal, he glanced at the clock—it was already 1 am. Realizing how late it had become, he decided to get some rest. Another early morning awaited him. He headed to bed, only to wake up again at 9 am. Panic surged through him as he realized he was running late. He hurriedly got ready and dashed to the office.

Upon arrival, he was immediately summoned by his boss. "Ryujin, why were you late? This is unacceptable," his boss scolded him. And the scolding continued as he was informed that a significant portion of his work from the previous day required revisions. The client was unhappy with his designs.

"But boss, I followed the design provided on the storyboard," he tried to explain, feeling frustrated and defeated.

"Follow it properly, or you'll face consequences," the boss snapped. "Fix the revisions now, and don't let this happen again."

As Ryujin worked on the revisions, he couldn't help but notice his colleagues enjoying a leisurely break—chatting, laughing, and even playing games. But he had no such luxury. He diligently worked to correct his designs, checking and rechecking to ensure they met the client's demands.

Finally, he completed the revisions and glanced at the clock—it was already 3 am. Exhausted and drained, he decided to call it a night. The walk back home was a quiet one, his steps heavy with weariness. He reached his apartment and collapsed onto his bed, falling asleep almost instantly.

Morning arrived again, and this time, he woke up at 9, feeling even more fatigued than before. He scrambled to get ready and rushed to the office, only to be met with disapproving looks from his colleagues and another scolding from his boss.

The daily routine continued—a monotonous cycle of late nights, early mornings, demanding tasks, and constant criticism. Ryujin's life revolved around work, and he found himself isolated in his struggles. The weekend offered no respite, as he felt too drained to do anything other than sleep.

As time passed, Ryujin couldn't shake the feeling that his life was slipping away, lost in the constant grind of his job. He longed for something more, something beyond this repetitive cycle. But for now, he was trapped in the never-ending loop of an ordinary life.

Ryujin opened his eyes, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He found himself in a room, but it was unlike the one he had in the Earth.

"Huff... Huff... So it was a dream, but why did it feel so incredibly realistic?" Ryujin muttered, his breathing gradually steadying. He closed his eyes for a moment, collecting his thoughts, before standing up and heading to the bathroom to wash his face.

"Splash!" he took water clean his face while thinking the dream which lingering in his head

The memories of his time on Earth carried a heavy weight, like a lingering ache in his heart. They held remnants of difficult experiences and painful moments, a past that seemed distant yet still affected him deeply. Determined to move forward, Ryujin resolved to channel his emotions into his practice, hoping that the focused training would help him ease the burden of those memories.

With his heart racing, Ryujin concluded his sequence of movements with the Elemental Blade Slash. Energy within him surged, and even though his sword was not infused with Qi, the force of his strike left a lingering impact in the air. His sword cut through the air, and shockwaves rippled outward, providing evidence of the strength within him.

The courtyard seemed to hold its breath as Ryujin stood there, his sword ready, his chest rising and falling with exertion. The remnants of his attack's energy still vibrated in the air, a tangible manifestation of his determination and skill. With a satisfied smile, he lowered his sword and exhaled, the tension in his body easing.

He returned to his room and found dinner on the table and hot water drawn in the bathtub, courtesy of the maid. After cleaning up, enjoying the meal, and a warm bath, he finally lay down on his bed.

His thoughts were a mix of determination, contentment, and the memory of his past life, now more like a distant and fading dream. With a final smile, he closed his eyes, welcoming the embrace of sleep, ready to face whatever challenges the future might bring.

The Other Time Laura yun is running, Laura Yun was pursued relentlessly by a group of individuals donning horn masks on their faces. Her body bore numerous wounds from the encounter, a testament to the intensity of her chase. A demon Cultivator was hot on her heels, his desire for the Dew of the Transcendence Tree driving him forward. Despite her injuries, Laura managed to evade the pursuers temporarily.

However, her respite was short-lived as she was suddenly ambushed by a Core Disciple from the Azure Mist Sect,Sect who held the 16th rank in the World. Weakened and outnumbered, Laura found herself at a disadvantage. Battling fiercely, she managed to escape the ambush but not without sustaining more injuries. The Azure Mist Disciple, having gained the upper hand, decided to make an announcement to the world about Core Disciple Frost Dragon Sect's acquisition of the precious Vial of Transcendence Tree Dew.

As her breath grew ragged and her energy waned, Laura's determination burned brighter than ever. "I must reach the sect... I can't falter here," she muttered to herself, her resolve unshaken even in the face of dire circumstances.

"SLASH!!" Suddenly, a slash of Qi nearly struck Laura Yun. She managed to dodge, but the force of the attack caused her to tumble to the ground.

"Ughh!!!" Laura Yun grimaced as she held her hand over the wounds on her abdomen.

"Found you!!" One of the Demon Cultivators exclaimed triumphantly.
