The following day, we discussed the spell Ethan would cast for the entire day in the hotel room.
Therefore, this spell will make the connection between you and your twin stronger. Looking into my eyes, Ethan replied, "Once that happens, you will be able to feel what part of the planet he is on.
In exchange for the spell, what are you going to do to me? He opened the spell book, I whispered.
I nodded, and Ethan said, "It says you will need to be at the location where we do the magic, a few drops of blood, and a few hairs from your Lycan form.
As Ethan laughed, I remarked, "Okay, it just seems really easy."
He added, his face turning serious, "It won't be easy for me, and it might kill you."
"Is that all there is to it?" He nodded, and I giggled apprehensively. "I've got this."
As I sat on the bed, Ethan grinned and said, No, Sarah, I got this." I took the image of my brother viewing it. He appeared to be so content that I felt horrible for including him in this mess. Even though he was going to go through whatever, I still felt bad because this was going to be his lot in life.
Is it wrong of me to search for him? I asked, my grief visible in my chocolate eyes as I looked up at Ethan.
"No, you're not mistaken. If he wants to have a chance, he needs the information, Ethan stated as he sat next to me.
I muttered, "I had knowledge, but it couldn't have saved me," as Ethan reached up to wipe away the lone tear from my cheek.
There was no way you could have realized the man who reared you would betray that trust, Ethan said. "Had you known your father was going to betray you, it would have saved you." As I glanced at him, he turned to face me. His sympathetic eyes, which had no negative feelings for me, were putting his life in danger for me, and I didn't even think to say "thank you."
"Ethan, you're a really nice guy. I firmly said, "Thank you for all of this," and he grinned.
"Most people don't thank me," he added as he gently hugged me. I melted into his touch and found myself wanting to stay in that state forever, but I knew we had to go for the ritual in the field because it would get dark soon. I got to my feet and grabbed my long-draped tank top and booty shorts. I entered the restroom and dressed in the blue top and black shorts. I made sure the rifle was loaded before exiting and collecting it.
"Do we depart now?" Ethan nodded, and I gently questioned He led me to the SUV that was traveling down the street. As the sun's final rays dipped beyond the trees, we arrived at the clearing and made our way to its center. While Ethan read everything, including the ceremonial knife, we stood in the clearing. As I observed him holding the knife, I could feel my heart beating rapidly in my chest.
"Sarah, are you ready?" I asked Ethan as I moved closer to him. As he began to chant, I stood next to him. He snatched my hand and stabbed the blade into my thumb. I whimpered a little in discomfort as I winced. His thumb was pressed against the golden bowl. Before I changed into my Lycan form, three drops were dropped into the murky liquid. As I stood next to Ethan, my almost-black fur blowing in the breeze, I felt my senses sharpen. He leaned over and tore off a section of my fur. He placed the fur in, and I choked back the roar that wanted to come out. I saw a flash, then felt searing anguish spread throughout my body. As the link I sensed grew stronger, I gasped. It was near him, and I could feel him. Although San Francisco, not San Diego, was in California, he was there. I turned to face Ethan and changed back into my human form while grinning.
I screamed in shock, "I found him," as I suddenly smelled blood. When I turned back, Easton was watching one of Ethan's men. As I gazed at Easton, who was just seconds away from being a full Lycan, I held the gun behind my back.
Ethan won't suffer any damage if you follow me, Easton commanded. My Lycan was battling him as I watched. It required every ounce of my willpower to hold back because he is more capable than I am.
Ethan said, Easton, leave while we let you," causing Easton to grin sarcastically.
I pleaded in tears, "Easton, please don't do this." He caused me harm, yet in the end, he was the only person I hadn't yet come to despise.
The moment he said, "Then come with me, princess," uncertainty struck me.
Did you refer to me as a princess? He looked at me as I asked.
As Ethan glanced at him, Easton remarked, "Until you are dead, you are a princess, if you will.
Why are you going to kill me if I'm royalty? You can't touch me since I haven't broken any laws, I yelled angrily as Easton tensed up.
"She's right, isn't she?" As Easton reached for him, Ethan chuckled. Easton wasn't even close to reaching Ethan since I moved so precisely.
"That might be true, but the fact that she just blocked you is the only thing keeping you alive. She may arrive, but we won't harm you. As I looked over the edge of the clearing, Easton said, "Our rules don't apply to witches. I could see that we were completely outnumbered and surrounded.
I addressed him by saying, "Ethan." I said, "Find my brother."
The question, "What do you mean?" My heart sank as he questioned
I whispered, tears streaming from my eyes, "We are outnumbered; even if they leave me, I couldn't keep you safe." Before I followed Easton across the clearing, I gave him a cheek kiss. As we approached Benard, Easton took hold of my arm and led me through the woods.
He grinned at me as Isabelle turned to face me. We were never going to be pals, and Benard certainly appeared to be power-hungry. "You are required to wear a crown to signify your position. Unlike Isabelle and me, you shall wear a crown.
Before I got in the car, he placed the golden crown on my head, and I said, "How nice." As tears streamed down my cheeks, I sat down. I was entering the lions' cave to be killed. I was aware that I wouldn't live very long, but if I can keep the people I care about safe, it will always be worthwhile.
