Chereads / Rise of the Gemini Lycan / Chapter 4 - The Initial

Chapter 4 - The Initial

I got up early so I could go "hunt" the Gemini Lycans. Before turning to position the motorcycles on the truck's bed, I placed my bag in the vehicle's back. Isabelle came over after I used a chain to secure the bikes.

"Have you spoken to Benard at all?" I shook my head in response to her question as she exhaled in relief. As Easton took a file from Benard, I grinned at him. I was curious as to what Isabelle would do if she learned that I was one of the dangerous Lycans they were pursuing. I closed the door as I entered the passenger side. I waited as Easton got into the car.

The question "Are you ready?" I nodded as Easton asked. The truth is that I was never going to be prepared to begin looking for my brother, but it was the only way to do it. He's in danger if I find him, but he's in even more danger without me.

---

We traveled into the night before stopping in New Orleans.

"Why are we stopping?" you may ask. I questioned him as he exited.

Easton remarked, "He's been here before," as I jumped out of the car with the miraculous knife. If necessary, I would kill Easton to protect my brother.

Do you believe they are hazardous, Easton? I softly questioned in an effort to get his opinion.

He said, "I don't care; I'm following orders," which made my stomach turn.

It matters to me, I firmly asserted. Like I would want a good cause if they commanded me to kill you.

Do the Gemini Lycans even exist, or does it really matter? He glared at me angrily and demanded He made a U-turn and entered a pub. I inhaled as I followed him inside. I looked around, glad to see my brother absent. The realization that he would be in school in the middle of the day caused me to freeze. My parents taught me, so I was excused from school.

Do you know a boy named Leo, Miss? I turned to face the bartender, who said, "You kind of remind me of a youngster I used to know. I turned to look and saw Easton ambling into the back corridor.

The question "Is he seventeen?" He nodded, and I inquired. "Where is he right now?"

The bartender informed me that "he moved with his parents to California."

I lied, saying, "Nope, I don't think I know him," and then I moved in the same direction as Easton. In the back parking lot, I discovered him. He swiftly turned to face me.

He replied, "The trail is old," and I nodded in agreement.

"Now, where?" I questioned him, my pulse pounding at the idea that he could be unable to find my brother.

He walked back inside and said, "We should figure out who used to frequent here and try to find them by name. In the hopes that the bartender wouldn't say anything, I hurried to catch up.

The question, "You're back?" While I grinned, the bartender said

I grinned and said, "I couldn't stay away," as Easton joined me.

"We're seeking someone who frequented this location but no longer does. Do you know anyone who meets that description? I bit my lip as Easton questioned me.

The bartender remarked, "There is Leo Robertson, who moved to San Diego, California, and Fred Stevens, who lives in Dallas, Texas," which helped me feel a little more at ease.

I grinned and said, "Thank you, sir," as Easton left quite abruptly. I watched him get into the car after him.

I nodded as he remarked, "So we are closer to Texas; we should head that way."

I replied, "Makes sense," with my heart full of hope. While my brother is secure in San Diego, he was planning to search in Dallas. "Dallas is big; how will we find him?" I mutely inquired.

As I clutched the knife, he replied, "Don't worry, we'll make it." I glanced at the blade, aware that a single poke might reveal my identity. Once we locate my brother, it might also take his life. I tried a million different things to save my brother, but they were all unsuccessful, and I ended up killing Easton, who appeared to be a soldier following blindly. The phrase "Penny for your thoughts?"

I remarked, "You'd need more than a penny for my thoughts," and then we both started laughing.

"Come on, pretty He grinned as I turned to face him. "I don't bite until it's a full moon. As I inhaled, ready to throw everything on the line, I felt the truth starting to bubble up.

I was unable to just say, "I was thinking about my mom," so I excused myself by saying, "It's just that." Being sincere was difficult when doing so could result in death.

As he took my hand in his, Easton stated, "I lost my mom in a fight with another pack. If you want to talk, I'm available. My chest tightened as I stared into his eyes. As I sensed the tingle of passion wafting between us, my mouth slightly parted. The situation would become more challenging as a result. I had a strange connection to Easton, but I quickly turned my head away as a flush spread across my cheeks. I hoped that this sensation was only a childish crush. To keep my brother safe, I forced the memory of Easton from my mind.

"So, are you hungry?" He politely inquired.

Yes, let's stop here, I responded, gesturing toward a little eatery. We left and headed for the structure. For me, Easton hurriedly opened the door. "Thanks." We moved to a corner table and sat across from each other. My favorite item on the menu, chocolate chip pancakes, was what I picked up.

"What else can I get you?" The waiter grinned at me.

I said, "Chocolate chip pancakes with a glass of milk," before he looked Easton in the eye.

As we handed him our menus, he grinned and said, "A bacon cheeseburger with French fries and a cup of coffee." I sat there scanning the area, excluding Easton. "Sarah, is something wrong?"

"No why?" I questioned myself as I gazed up into his eyes. I could feel myself suffocating in them.

"There is no issue. I gasped, "You can't even look at me," he replied.

"I think you're okay." Unreasonably loudly, I screamed.

"I do like you; what's the issue?" I could feel my internal battles as he laughed.

I muttered, "It makes things more complicated," as tears filled my eyes.

He questioned, "Why?" as I moaned.

I said, "I can't tell you," as the dinner was delivered. We kept quiet while we dined there. So, what was I to do at this point?
