Chapter 18 - Feed

I looked at Sam. "Sarah, I can feel what is happening, but that is the problem," he stated. "It appears that your Lycan blood is causing the babies some friction."

"What does that mean?" you ask. My heart sank as Leo urged I might misplace the infants.

Sam stated, his eyes filled with dread, "It means that the pregnancy is way more delicate than it should be." "You might misplace the infants. Your body is suffering greatly as a result of their sorcery.

The question is, "But what does that mean?" Sam caressed my belly and looked perplexed as I screamed. Leo turned.

Was she angry when this occurred? Leo nodded as Sam questioned

Leo added, "She had a very public argument with Ethan," as Sam scowled.

"It appears that her emotions rendered their blood extremely poisonous. As I turned to gaze at Sam, he murmured gently, "I suppose she tapped into her babies' blood.

"You mean that I did this?" I screamed as I started to unwind.

Yes, but if you exercise caution, it shouldn't happen again. As soon as I stood up, Sam remarked, "Just to be cautious, I'll check in more frequently for you. I strolled up to the table and sat down as the rest of the group kept a tight eye on me. I was so embarrassed that my cheeks felt like they were on fire.

Daniel answered, obviously interpreting my look, "You're fine; nobody worries.

I said with a smile, Thanks, Daniel," as the celebration came to an end. I placed my palm on my tummy as the babies kicked, which made my mouth smile. You kids really are busy, I must say.

Daniel, who was seated next to me, commented, "Babies always are. Hey, have you finished setting up the nursery?

I said, "No, I've been kind of busy," as Daniel assisted me in standing up.

Are you interested in having me take you shopping? I grinned as Daniel asked.

I smiled at him and said, "That would be lovely." Can we leave once I change?

Daniel responded, Sure, I'll meet you in the car," as I sprinted up the stairs. Before putting on jeans and a white t-shirt, I removed my dress. Leo was waiting for me as I descended the stairs.

I informed my brother that Daniel and I were going shopping.

As I left the house, Leo remarked, Okay, Sarah, have fun." I crossed the courtyard to get into the dark SUV. Daniel started the car, and I fastened my seatbelt.

I grinned and said, "Thank you, Daniel," as we headed into the baby store. We pulled up outside and entered. I walked down to the cribs and examined a few of them. There are a lot of them.

Daniel laughed as I observed the cribs: "That's what I told the mother of my child."

Is buying two of the same thing or two of different sorts preferable? Since I wasn't yet certain about the gender, I questioned it when looking at the black and white cribs.

Daniel replied, "I think two different ones to help differentiate which baby is which," as I moaned.

I answered, "You're right," and went down to the diapers. I placed a package in the trolley along with some wipes and baby powder. I noticed how much pink and blue there was as I glanced at the clothes. There ought to be more neutral hues. In the event that it's two girls, I grabbed a couple blue dresses in the hopes that nobody would comment.

Daniel held up two plush wolves and exclaimed, "Hey, this is cute." I began laughing out loud.

"Kind of ironic to buy them for the Lycan twins, right?" While his expression collapsed, I grinned. He swung out to reposition them. "No, put them in the cart!"

Daniel said, "Yeah," as we moved on to the mugs and bottles. Since I wasn't sure if my milk would be safe for them, I got ten bottles and a container of formula. Along with the high chairs and the dresser changing table, Daniel grabbed two cribs and placed them beside the cash register. A double stroller, two car seats, and two high chairs.

Are you expecting twins? The cashier exclaimed with joy.

I grinned as she rang everything up and said, "Yeah, I am."

When the cashier responded, "That will be 2,000 dollars," Daniel shrieked in shock. I took my card out to pay for it.

Daniel said, "Man, the baby departments are robbing us," which made me giggle.

Before Daniel put the items in the car, we completed paying. "Tell me about it," I asked. He loaded the bulky goods into the SUV while I loaded the small bags. I jumped into the passenger seat and quickly buckled up. As I exited the car, Daniel continued driving home.

Daniel pushed me in the direction of the couch and said, "I'll put the stuff in the nursery; you go relax until the stuff is put together." As soon as I sat down and propped up my feet, the tension started to fade.

"Sis, did you have fun?" My feet were on Leo's lap, as he stated this while seated on the sofa. He tugged at my shoes and took them off.

I uttered, "Oh my god," and smiled slightly. "That feels wonderful!"

Leo grinned and said, "I bet," as I closed my eyes and let the calmness settle over me.

Hey, the cribs are assembled; where should they be placed? I was briefly dozing off when Daniel shouted at me. I rose and walked up to the nursery. I considered where I wanted to put the items as I looked around the room.

Before he moved the dresser or changing table, he pushed the cribs into position. "The cribs could go on both sides of the right wall, and the changing table could go on the wall next to the cribs," I suggested. The diapers were placed on top of the table, and he grabbed the clothing and stuffed it into the three drawers. Seeing how much of a father he really was made me happy.

"What?" He inquired, jolting me out of my reverie.

He placed the wolves in their cribs before turning to face me. "Nothing; you just are a great dad," I responded.

He grinned at me and said, "Years of practice" before leaving the room. He was a great guy who helped me even though it wasn't his usual job.

"You know he likes you, right?" I gasped at what Leo said.

Are you certain? He nodded, and I inquired. Perhaps it is more than a job to him, but to me, what is it?
