As the light of dawn broke across the horizon of Eudora, Eilis set out for her morning rounds foraging for breakfast supplies. Her mother planned to make sunbeam tea infused with honey, and some of her famously delicious flutterberry bites topped with pixie jam. Eilis set out for a small yet serene forest pond, about 2 miles from their cozy home, where all the ingredients could be found.
Eilis, with wings the shade of light green adorned by luminous yellow orbs, was a vision that mirrored the beauty of her mystical surroundings. Her dirty blonde hair cascaded gracefully down to her waist, while a crown of delicate light pink flowers and vibrant green leaves adorned her head. Her eyes were the color of shimmering emeralds and her lips were a soft pink. Eilis donned a matching green dress decorated with gold lacing that was cleverly made to look like vines, and slits that started at the waist. Not only was the dress beautiful, but it was also designed for comfort and ease of movement.
She hastily spread her wings and headed toward the pond. As each ingredient was carefully gathered, a faint glimmer flickered from across the water. This beckoned Eilis' curiosity, so she made a secret promise to return as her heart stirred with anticipation.
After breakfast was ready, Eilis quickly appeased her growing hunger and soon prepared to trek back to the pond to look for the glimmer. Mara, who was Eilis' mother, asked what she would be doing with her day. At this moment she told Mara about the mysterious glimmer, so her mother bid her farewell and expected her daughter to return by dinner.
Mara grew increasingly worried as supper came and went along with the setting sun, and Eilis had yet to return. It was not like her to stay out for so long. Mara attempted to calm her nerves and called for Eilis' father, Vincent, and asked him to go to the pond and look for their daughter.
As Vincent arrived at the small pond, he found no trace of his beloved daughter. Trepidation coursed through him. Laying on the ground was a sacred mirror that had vanished from the council vault two years prior. Vincent knew he needed to find Eilis before the veil of Eudora collided with whatever realm she entered. The council would have to convene at once if they had any hopes of finding Eilis.
