The water enveloped me like a comforting embrace, itd coolness a stark contrast to the turmoil within. I closed my eyes, allowing the weightlessness of being submerged to wash over me. Underwater, the outside world faded away, leaving only the soothing sound of my own breath and the gentle currents caressing my skin. This is where I planned to stay until all this madness finally stopped.
However, as seconds turned into minutes, my lungs screamed for air, and I began to feel the life draining out of me as I involuntarily took in water but stubbornly remained in the pool. Just when I thought I couldn't hold on any longer, someone took hold of me and brought me out of the water. I started coughing profusely, vomiting all the water I had swallowed.
"Are you insane?" I heard Rex bark as he sat beside me, trying to catch his breath. "What were you thinking? Were you planning on killing yourself?" he continued, his tone filled with anger and concern.
