Chapter 4 - CH 4: The Demon King and God Of Darkness

Inside the castle, a man wearing gentlemen suit and glasses could be seen walking the hall way. In one glance, one might think him as a human but his glowing golden pupils were indicating something else.

"It's not good. We have lost many of our elites because of that Hero. We can't have any more meaningless causalities. Now there are only two options left."

'Either, Your Highness, the Demon King fight the Hero himself or we choose the other option.'

The man didn't voice out his thoughts because this was not a small matter to speak, no one knows who and when someone hears you.

This can built even more burden on the mind of all people in the castle and can have negative effect on the morale of their soldiers.

Even though they have seen their strongest knight, Sir Igor, in a miserable state. The only reason they haven't given up is because they still have hope in their King.

Everyone know that their Demon King is not someone ordinary. He is the God of Darkness himself and possibly the most strongest being alive in this world.

'But I still wouldn't desire Your Highness to fight the Hero himself as his friend and as the Minister of the entire Demon Realm.'

Their Demon King is not so cruel or wicked as the humans tell in their stories. He is actually the most pure heart person you could find. But after what happened in the Great War thousands of years ago, Their Demon King is in no state to fight anyone.

Maybe after a sincere request, he might agree for his people but no one would want to increase burden of the their King that he is carrying alone.

'But the other option of summoning a being from the Abyss to fight the Hero for them is also not a wise decision.'

Even if he, Sebastian, is the God of Books, he had no enough knowledge about the Abyss himself. Nobody knows what would happen If they tried to open a space crack connected to the Abyss and what kind of being will come out of it.

Each God, in this world, governs over their own law of this world. Take a example from himself, Because of being a God of Books he governs over all the books and knowledge within them around the world.

He can control any magical or cursed books which are difficult even for a god, easily. But he can never win a close-combat fight against a god who governs the law related to combat.

And the Abyss is something where there is completely different concept of law, If a being is summoned whose power can completely reject the laws of their world.

It will going to be the second coming of the self-proclaimed Abyss King, who nearly extinguished the entire life beings from this world.

'I can still remember that battle where I saw many of my dear friends die before me and I could do nothing.'

The wounds and grief that was caused by that battle is still not forgotten by everyone even now. That's why only few knew about the plan to summon from the Abyss, otherwise gods from Origin will attack on them with their entire forces, just to stop the summon.

Even when Sebastian, the God of Books, was completely focused to come up with a new plan, his feet didn't stop. Instead he began to walk faster through the empty hall, having sent all the guards and soldiers outside and non-combatants ,except for few, far away to avoid any unnecessary causalities.

"*Sigh*…..Its looks like I'll have to discuss on this with the Demon King after all."

With not able to come up with any other plan, Sebastian could only give up and talk with the Demon king on this. After a while, Sebastian finally stopped in front of a giant door of the throne room.

The door was big enough to allow two fully grown African Elephants to pass through at same time easily and was carved with symbols of non-humans and gods bowing towards an individual sitting on a throne. This entire door was created from hands of several master craftsman using many rare materials.

And any knowledgeable person on magic can see that It was casted with many protection and defensive spells on It. Making this door second in toughness after the wall gate outside the castle.

"Your Majesty, May I come in?"

After asking the permission from his King, the giant door began to open itself without any response. Taking this as 'yes', Sebastian entered the Throne Room.

The inside of the Throne Room was illuminated completely by the light coming from the giant chandelier hanging on the ceiling, which was made from one of the rarest material in this world Mithril. And six long thick jade pillars on each side of the room were standing, supporting the entire Throne Room.

And the entire Throne Room was big enough to fit half of their army here. In opposite end of the giant door were few stairs leading to a magnificent black throne, with many small jewels on the throne twinkling like the night sky itself has taken the form of a throne.

And on the top of the throne, a strange dark human shaped shadow was sitting with two white dots acting as his eyes looking straight to Sebastian, alone in the Throne Room.

Overall scene was like from a horror fantasy game, just before a final boss fight. The being sitting on the throne was like it was the embodiment of the darkness in this world devouring even the light coming from the chandelier above.

And If such a being would stare directly to a normal human being, he or she would definitely have a mental breakdown with fear. But Sebastian didn't show any sign of fear on his face.

He instead walk closer to such being, like it had came out directly from some nightmare. Every step with grace and along with his gentlemen-like dress, It was like he was meeting to his some dear friend.

And when he reached three steps away from the stairs, he bowed down to his knee because the 'thing' on the throne was none other than...

"I greet to the ruler of the entire Demon Realm and Darkness."

The Demon King and the God of Darkness, 'Diablo'.
