"You have lost weight!"
Just as the remark slipped from her mouth, both of them seemed startled.
Khan gazed greedily at the delicate face in front of him, a hint of pain flitted through his heart when he saw her sharp chin.
Xiya laughed heartily, using her laughter to cover up the awkwardness on her face.
"You got it wrong, I am just slim."
"Can we talk?" Khan eyed her with hope, asking gently.
With calm eyes, Xiya looked at him and said, "Khan, as I have said before, we can either be friends like we used to be, or total strangers, decide for yourself."
Khan tasted bitterness again as he saw the aloofness in her eyes.
Jian Qing glanced at him; her eyes flickered.
"Darling, let's go inside."
Xiya shifted her gaze, pushing Jian Qing back in.
"It's too cold outside; I'll freeze."
As Jian Qing looked at her, bundled up in layers of clothes and a scarf around her neck, her lips twitched.
If this was considered cold, she might as well go to Heaven.
