After a while, Quan Jingwu gently coughs and picks her up.
"Xiaojing!"
Caught off guard by the sudden lift, Jian Qing instinctively wraps her arms around his neck.
He carries her to the bed and lays her down.
"Wait here for me."
Jian Qing watches him make his way to the bathroom, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes.
Shortly after, the man comes out carrying a basin of water.
"Xiaojing, what are you doing?"
Leaning against the bed, a wave of abdominal pain washes over Jian Qing, adding an extra layer of weariness to her brow.
Quan Jingwu doesn't utter a word. He pulls over a stool, places the basin of water on it, and subsequently takes her foot.
It is at this moment that Jian Qing understands his intentions, a warm current slowly flowing in her heart.
"Is it hot?" He gently lowers her feet into the basin, bending over to softly massage them for her.
The suitably warm water comforts her feet, slightly alleviating the abdominal pain.
