Only at the sight of the juicy strawberries on the table did Xiya managed to curb her anger. She plopped down on the couch, picking up a fork and skewering a strawberry, her mood evidently better.
She was enjoying the strawberries and simultaneously texting Jian Qing on her phone.
"Maomao, smile for me," Khan cooed to Maomao he was holding, gently rocking her. He caught a glimpse of Xiya engrossed in her phone and a lightbulb went on in his head.
He walked over to the baby crib, lowering Maomao inside, "Be good, Maomao. Daddy will play with you in a bit."
After saying that, he gently stroked Maomao's soft face, then turned to sit next to Xiya.
Xiya was deeply engaged in her conversation with Jian Qing and didn't notice Khan's approach.
"Jian, you're making fun of me again!"
