The rain continued unabated past nine o'clock, growing even more intense.
The dark cloud roiled in the sky, as fierce winds drove the large raindrops against Beijing. The sporadic thunderclaps and silver lightning made one's heart palpitate with fear.
Jian Qing leaned against Quan Jingwu, silently watching the downpour through the floor-to-ceiling window. The window surface was covered with raindrops, everything looked as if it was shrouded in a layer of grey mist.
They had hoped to leave once the rain stopped, but now it doesn't seem like the rain would let up anytime soon.
"Little Qingqing, why don't you and Jingwu stay over tonight? It's raining heavily this late at night, it would be too cumbersome to go home." Rhea said gently, glancing at the weather outside.
The old Mrs. Quan also echoed, "Indeed, it's too dangerous to drive in such heavy rain. Stay over for the night."
Jian Qing looked up at Quan Jingwu, her eyes asking him for his opinion.
