Chapter 12 - Phase One - Meeting the devil

The next day, I was free because I had a one week leave for my good work at the coffee shop, I practiced what I was going to say over an hundred times before going to take a shower.

I decided to wear a baggy jean and a big black sweatshirt, so that I could sweat at much as I wanted without my clothes being wet. "You can do this" I assured my already panicking self.

I made sure to keep the knife in my small bag that was hung on my shoulders before leaving the house. I chose a restaurant as where we would meet, because it was the only public place I could think of.

I got there little late and met him sitting angrily on a bench near to the restaurant. He saw me and stood up abruptly "How dare you keep me waiting? Do you think I don't have a job?"

"Do you think I don't also have a job?" I hissed.

"Where are we going?" he asked.

"That restaurant" I answered pointing to the restaurant opposite.

We walked to the restaurant and sat at the table I booked. It was next to the glass window so if anything happens; I could easily escape. I wanted him to talk first so I just looked at him and kept smiling.

I guess that you are asking why I was smiling.

Well, it's just a facade to keep how I truly feel

"We should get to business" he frowned. "Yes, why did you call me?" I inquired with an hint of sarcasm. "How did you get the videos deleted? How did you get the other videos?" Steve looked so frustrated, something I had never seen, and loved it.

"And how did you know that I have two came…" I cut him off before he could complete his sentence "Cameras? One that shows your face and the other that video's the lady's face?" I mocked.

Only God knew how I was feeling inside. It was like I was going to die any moment from now.

"Don't ask unnecessary questions. You should ask how I got your wife's number" I smirked.

"How much do you want?" He slammed the table with anger written all over his face. It was so obvious that he was very angry, and the only thing keeping him from hurting me was that we were in public.

I was as scared as fuck, but I couldn't let that show "You shouldn't do that here you know? And don't make me angry, you should be the one begging" I spoke calmly. "About how much I want; I think six hundred thousand naira will be enough to shut me u..."

"Okay, I will transfer it now" he said laughing mysteriously. I knew that he thought it was to keep my mouth shut till my grave, but it was just for six months. After five minutes the alert entered and I smiled.

I ordered for the most expensive meal and a bottle of champagne, he waited for me to finish eating and when I was done, he stood up wanting to leave.

I also stood up and held his arm "Hey, see you in six months" I gave an evil grin. "What do you mean? We don't have to see each other again" he was sure as confused as fuck.

"The money is just to keep me shut for six months, after that I will see you again" I continued. "Wait did you think that I would end everything with just six hundred thousand? After everything you did?" I explained to him.

"Don't you love me anymore? I love you Vicky. Bring your phone, let me delete it. I know you don't want us to be like this" he slowly moved closer to me, stretching his hand to me.

I took the opportunity to slap him so hard "You ended it first, asshole" Everyone's attention was already drawn to us, but I cared less.

He got so angry, and wanted to slap me back but I held his hand before it landed on my face, and took out my knife. He was so shocked and everyone in the restaurant began to shout.

Heaven knows how much tears threatened to fall out of my eyes, but it couldn't because I had to be strong. Though, it was hard to look him in the eye, I still did "Love? You are my toy now and I will continue to use you until you are useless" I spat every word with extreme seriousness.

I placed my knife into my bag then walked out of the restaurant. I trekked to the field opposite the restaurant and sat. Tears came rushing down my cheeks.

I knew that I still loved him, but I couldn't disappoint Anne; she had invested too much. Moreover, he needed to be punished for everything that did to me and other girls.

After crying for some while, I stood, bought some ice cream and played with the kids at the field before leaving with a mind of living my life to the fullest.

I instantly transferred a hundred thousand to Anne with a text telling her that her plan worked, before going in search for a house.I managed to find a three bedroom flat in three days and I paid the rent for one year. I saved the remaining money; my target was to save enough money to go to college and buy a building.

Big plans, right?
