Chapter 72 - 071

"Goodbye!" Luffy led the group to greet the two giants standing on the coast. The two giants were the ones they had encountered before, and Luffy quickly found common ground with them due to his straightforward nature and their shared gigantic appetites. They stood together for a while, engaging in mutual admiration.

If the need for assistance arose, the giants wouldn't necessarily be at a disadvantage. Although they might have perished in the same year, month, and day, Luffy had only been alive for a few years. Giants typically have a lifespan of three hundred and fifty years, and with Luffy frequently utilizing his Gear Second and even Gear Third, he might end up shortening his own life, essentially dragging the two giants down with him.

"What incredible monsters!" Evan observed the two giants closely. While others on the ship might have merely witnessed their immense power, Evan was fully aware of the frightening capabilities of this group. If possible, he would have liked to take Luffy to Elbaf for some fun. However, that opportunity might not arise any time soon.

"Master Evan, it's time for your meal," Marianne dutifully informed Evan, stepping forward.

"Ah, very good!" Evan replied, settling back into his seat while being attended to by the two maids.

Luffy was taken aback, not expecting this level of luxury on the ship. He couldn't believe Evan was able to conjure up such elaborate arrangements on their relatively small boat.

"Hey, Evan, I'm planning to gather ten crew members..." Luffy began, feeling as though Evan was corrupting his crewmates. Sanji, for example, had been chewing on the handkerchief all day long and lamenting, while Nami's eyes were ablaze, seemingly contemplating murder. It appeared as if Evan was the instigator behind all these changes.

"Of course! They don't need to be counted as official members; they can be considered external associates or a subordinate pirate group. They are partners in disguise! We can call them the Astral Pirates!" Evan reassured Luffy with a smile.

"Yeah?" Luffy paused, surprised by the proposition. He hadn't anticipated this turn of events. It was common for a pirate crew to have affiliations early on, particularly when setting out to sea. As long as there were strong individuals, there would inevitably be attachments.

"But what does 'Astral' mean?" Luffy scratched his head.

"The full name is the Twelve Constellation Fighting Maids Group! It consists of maids who can fight!" Evan declared with a gleam of determination in his eyes, revealing his ambitious plans. He intended to create a formidable maid team, and the number of maids involved would depend on the course of their journey.

"The Twelve Constellations..." Sanji's eyes gleamed with interest, but in the blink of an eye, he regarded Evan with disbelief. He never expected Evan to have such grand ambitions, aiming to create a pirate group centered around maids, with at least twelve battle-ready maids on the team. Evan hadn't mentioned any plans for regular maids.

"Interesting!" Zoro's mouth quirked, surprised by Evan's extent of ambition. Nevertheless, he didn't voice any objections. After all, it was Evan's prerogative to create what he envisioned, and Zoro had no grounds to oppose Evan on this matter.

"Their abilities are impressive, and there are still people willing to follow them. What right do I have to judge that?" Evan questioned, acknowledging his limited authority in the matter.

"Shouldn't Nami, Tashigi, and I be included as well?" Nico Robin interjected with a playful expression, sensing Evan's intentions. She surmised that Evan likely considered her and Nami for the maid group. However, his attempt didn't succeed.

"Of course, I can already envision all three of you in maid suits. I remember someone hand-drawing it, and it instantly filled me with joy. Now, seeing it in reality, I couldn't resist."

"Don't worry, Robin, yours will undoubtedly be carefully selected and will be my favorite set of maids. Nami, yours won't be too shabby either."

"And Tashigi, despite being a temporary member, seems to already feel like part of the crew. It's good to know she's not leaving us,"

"When will she get the chance to wear it, though? I'm feeling a little impatient right now. Is it possible I have a condition that will be fatal if I don't get to see the maid outfit? Please, show it to me," he mused, contemplating the viability of his idea.

Robin and Nami exchanged glances, amused by Evan's musings. For the two of them, Evan had personally selected their potential attire. They couldn't help but smirk, bemused by his persistent fixation on such eccentric ideas.

"Nami seems to be keen on peering into the depths of Evan's mind. He seems to be occupied with such mischievous thoughts all day. That guy has truly transformed into a peculiar character," Robin whispered to Nami, causing them both to stifle their laughter.

"There's no need to veto it. I'm quite looking forward to it. If you have the outfit on board, I can try it on right now," Robin suddenly said, flashing a pleasant smile. Evan was momentarily taken aback, but he couldn't hide his delight, which surfaced subconsciously.

"True to form, Robin is always the one most ready to share in my joys," Evan remarked with a teary-eyed chuckle, feeling grateful for her open-mindedness.

Robin's caring gesture touched him deeply, making him realize that he might have underestimated her. How could someone as genuine as Robin harbor any ill intentions towards him?

Nami, however, appeared exasperated, promptly pulling Robin away from the stern. She was taken aback by Robin's apparent willingness to humor Evan, well aware that indulging him might only boost his ego further.

"After all, Evan has been working so hard. It wouldn't hurt to reward him a little. Besides, I'm genuinely curious about those outfits and eager to see how they look," Robin explained with a smile, unfazed by Nami's reaction. She found Nami's fervent response quite amusing.

"Why the fuss about dressing up? It's not that big a deal," Nami retorted, shooting Robin a stern look.

The boat gradually fell into a calm rhythm as Luffy's excited voice echoed in the background, indicating their journey to the next destination.

"The next stop should be when our new crew member, Chopper, joins us," Evan mused, recalling the sequence of events. "Nami's illness... How could I forget that connection? I must address it promptly."

"Damn it, I still need to sort out the plot. Forgetting such a critical detail is a huge oversight. I must be meticulous in organizing the storyline to prevent any further lapses," Evan resolved, reminding himself to maintain a clear trajectory for the plot.

"Thankfully, My Thunder Fruit abilities enable me to move at a speed comparable to that of Kizaru. If Nami falls ill, I can swiftly take her to see a doctor," he assured himself, mentally preparing to tackle the upcoming narrative challenges.

Concluding his reflections, Evan watched as Little Garden faded into the distance, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. The Grand Line journey had progressed rapidly, with Chopper's arrival and the upcoming adventures in Alabasta awaiting them.

The memory of the intense battle with Garp in Logue Town remained vivid in Evan's mind. If he desired to become stronger, there was only one way to achieve it: through victory. Evan knew he had to be prepared to confront Garp again before the Seven Water Capital. Otherwise, he and Luffy might end up locked in combat with each other. That old scoundrel had his sights set on Evan, intending to abduct him for the Marines potentially.

Recalling their exchange in Logue Town, it seemed likely that Garp would seek to test Evan's strength in the Seven Water Capital.

[The seventh diary is over, and the diary rewards are officially released!]

[Reward 1: Increase your strength by one percent. ]

[List: Nico Robin, Tashigi, Nami, Vivi!]

[Reward 2: Mention the name more than ten times to increase the random ability]

[List: Nami! The reward is Observation Haki!]

[Reward 3: The person who mentioned the most names will get a random reward. ]

[List: Nico Robin! The reward is XXXXXX(The winner chooses to block the reward.)]

As the list of rewards was unveiled individually, a hint of envy appeared on Vivi's face. She had only received a guarantee and hadn't been granted any additional rewards. If she had received some extra benefits, she might have found a way to strengthen herself.

"Why isn't my name mentioned more often?" Vivi wondered to herself, feeling a little disappointed.

Shouldn't this diary be wrapping up soon? Maybe it's time for her to try to cozy up to Evan.

Vivi glanced at the diary, contemplating her potential actions. However, the thought of it made her reconsider. If she were to make any advances, she might end up being scolded just like Ms. Reiju.

Although Vivi might not have been overly concerned if it were just her, the fact that so many women were following this diary made her wary. She suspected that if she were to make any bold moves, Nami would likely take it upon herself to knock some sense into her.

[Nami: What reward did you get?]

[Nico Robin: Nothing, it's all just unsurprising gadgets. ]

[Nami:?]

Nami couldn't shake the feeling of unease. It appeared that she was becoming a fan of Nico Robin, a realization that left her unsettled. Sensing an impending threat looming on the horizon, Nami braced herself for what she feared was about to unfold. It was a situation she was hoping to avoid at all costs.

[Nico Robin: It's just the elimination of the typical weaknesses of devil fruits plus I'm getting closer to awakening this one, so don't take it seriously, and don't worry about it at all. ]

[Nico Robin: Besides, your devil fruit ability is not bad, if you develop it well, you can also awaken it.]

[Nico Robin: It's just that you neglected your training and didn't develop it well. I don't know if my experience is useful. Let me tell you about it when the time comes.]

[Nami: No need, I will also become stronger, such as being able to move through space to achieve the teleportation effect, which is much better than yours. ]

Nami's mouth twitched slightly, observing Robin's smug display. She was well aware of her underdeveloped fruit ability, lacking the theoretical knowledge necessary for advanced spatial manipulation. Unable to refute Robin's theories, Nami felt a surge of frustration at her limitations.

Furthermore, Robin's dissatisfaction was evident when Nami escorted her away, prompting Nami to ponder her actions. The idea of pursuing a romantic relationship with a twenty-year-old man seemed somewhat ridiculous considering her age. Nevertheless, Nami was determined to protect Ron's innocence and focused on her duties within the crew.

As she continued to document their adventures, Nami noticed a small red mark on her waist, causing a brief moment of panic. Anxious about the potential threat, she quickly masked her concern with a smile, determined to maintain a calm demeanor.

With a dwindling writing output, Nami made plans to focus on creating new manuscripts for a future book, saving her energies for the upcoming project. Embracing her escapist nature, she found solace in her writing, cherishing the moments spent indulging in her favorite stories.
