Guys, after you finish reading the chapter, there is a question so I'm waiting for your answers.

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Evan's modest ship had set sail, with Chopper's belongings trailing behind.

As per their current seating arrangement, Chopper occupied the front, while Nami nestled behind.

Evan found himself sandwiched between them, feeling as though he were the luckiest person alive. With the adorable Chopper at the bow to pet and Nami's comforting presence behind him, he couldn't help but revel in the moment.

"Evan, what's your technique for speeding up and slowing down? Can you be a bit gentler when you come to a sudden stop?" Nami's arms encircled Evan's waist, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush. She noticed Evan's previous remarks in his diary regarding acceleration and braking, and now she felt them in action.

Evan, maintaining a serious demeanor, explained. "It's all about technical adjustments. I'll try to be more careful."

[Nami, my astute wife, has already caught on to something amiss. But I can't let up; our journey to Alabasta is far from over. And perfecting this technology is my next goal.] Evan's diary documented his thoughts, brimming with determination.

"In that case, I'll take the front seat!" Nami declared, believing it could resolve the issue.

Evan turned to her with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "Are you sure about that?"

[If she sits in the front, wouldn't it be more advantageous for me? Is she confused, or perhaps planning to seek solace in my arms? Oh, it seems our relationship has progressed further since that night.] Evan's diary reflected his inner musings.

Upon seeing this, Nami's brow furrowed in response.

Meanwhile, in the bustling capital of Water 7, within Mr. Iceburg's office, Secretary Kalifa diligently attended to paperwork, her guise concealing her true intentions as she pointed over Evan's diary.

At that moment, Kalifa clenched her fists tightly in frustration, her mind swirling with the urge to rush over and deliver a couple of punches. However, she restrained herself, acknowledging the gravity of her task and the strength of her opponent.

"This is harassment, outrageous," Kalifa muttered, pushing up her glasses, the lenses catching a glint of light.

Meanwhile, nearby, Mr. Iceburg wore a troubled expression. As the overseer of Water 7's affairs, he found himself inundated with responsibilities, necessitating the recruitment of a secretary, a situation born out of necessity.

While Kalifa proved highly competent, her eccentric behavior often puzzled others. She tended to exclaim "harassment" at the slightest provocation, despite no such actions taking place.

"It seems worsening lately, and she's uttering it even when alone," Iceburg mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"Could it be that she's been in contact with someone recently? Perhaps she's started a relationship?" Iceburg speculated, the glimmer of insight flickering in his eyes.

Back aboard the boat, Nami swiftly retracted her previous statement.

"If I move ahead of Evan, he'll make a move," she reasoned, her tone firm as she addressed the others. "And make sure to tell Chopper to stay in the middle."

While Evan had experience flying, it was a novel and exhilarating sensation for Chopper. Initially daunting, he soon grew accustomed to it, relishing the thrill of flight. Plus, there was an underlying unease around Nami, whom he regarded as a formidable, if not terrifying, presence.

"Sorry, I'm not moving to the back," Chopper declared, reveling in the newfound experience and preferring to avoid potential interactions with Nami, whom he viewed as a fearsome "female demon."

Evan's diary recorded the ongoing events, indicating another imminent acceleration. However, sensing Nami's discomfort, he opted for a smoother, more controlled flight, bringing a sense of tranquility to their journey.

As Nami drifted into slumber, Evan couldn't help but notice the delicate way she leaned against him, her warmth and the faint scent of her hair stirring something within him. With a gentle touch, he adjusted their course, ensuring a seamless flight. He cherished the moment as time seemed to stand still.

"This is also a form of practice," Evan remarked, refraining from any further playful maneuvers. He realized that continuously braking might not sit well with Nami, especially since she was still asleep.

Flying at a rapid speed, Evan marveled at the swift progress. Flying surpassed both running and sailing in speed, albeit without the luxury of enjoying the scenery along the way.

Before long, the silhouette of Alabasta came into view.

"This country is vast," Evan observed, squinting at the expansive landscape below.

In just one day, they had traversed from Drum Island to Alabasta—a remarkable feat by any measure.

"We've arrived; why am I waking up now?" Nami mumbled sleepily, her head still resting against Evan's back. Despite the unconventional sleeping arrangement, she found herself feeling surprisingly well-rested.

As Evan approached their destination, the surroundings grew increasingly vivid. Although their posture may have been awkward, Nami felt a sense of peace wash over her.

It was evident that Evan had refrained from any further acceleration or sudden braking, demonstrating a rare gentleness in his actions—a stark contrast to his usual demeanor, which often tended to provoke others.

Most of her anger had dissipated by now. Nami realized that harboring constant resentment toward Evan wasn't productive.

"Vivi could be the princess of Alabasta, but I, Nami, won't back down easily. Even if she's royalty, I'll stand and fight alongside her," Nami resolved silently.

In her heart, Nami made a firm commitment. With the strength of the Straw Hat Crew, dealing with sand crocodiles shouldn't pose a significant challenge, provided Evan—their strongest combatant—is present. Relying solely on Luffy and the others might be cause for concern.

[Next up is the Alabasta chapter. I wonder how Luffy and the rest are faring now?]

[With the soldiers divided into two groups, they may encounter some difficulties.]

[Although there were obstacles in the original story, Luffy ultimately defeated Crocodile.]

[Should I subdue Crocodile? If I do, Vivi will most likely end up hating me]

[The best thing would be to subdue him and make him work so that he pays for his crimes against Arabasta]

[Should I make Luffy take his position as Shichibukai? It would be the best for my plans so we wouldn't have to worry about the constant hunting of the navy which would give us time to improve our strength.]

[In addition, there is the privilege of access to Impel down, I could access level 6 and get a few quite powerful devil fruits that I could give to someone interested in one of these.]

[I don't think that only the guys who were recruited by Blackbeard and the old-era monsters that are locked up down there are the only ones who have devil fruits. There must be other monsters with powerful devil fruits.]

[I'm not going to Target Old Era Monsters like World or Bullet since they are very powerful. Plus their fruits would be useless in someone else's hands since it would take much time to reach the level those guys reached.]

[And Redfield? That Guy hasn't gotten his fruit yet, it would be best to get a favor from that guy in exchange for telling him the location of the devil fruit he's looking for]

When reading Evan's diary, the girls' thoughts varied.

Vivi, for example, had conflicting feelings about Crocodile. While she despised him and wished for his downfall, she also believed that Evan's idea of subduing him could benefit Alabasta by gaining a powerful protector.

For the moment, she decided to set this topic aside and revisit it once Alabasta was liberated. Perhaps by then, she would have found an answer.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the Navy side, the girls were taken aback by Evan's intentions; they found it hard to believe that this womanizer was planning to access Impel Down for the Devil Fruits.

They couldn't fathom how he might have a method to steal Devil Fruits, especially not just any Devil Fruits but those possessed by level 6 monsters.

Besides he mentioned those monstrous guys who know what he's planning but it's not good if it involves such dangerous guys.

They sensed a significant shift, which could entirely upend the world order, was imminent. However, they were torn about which side to support: whether to alert the Navy and consequently the World Government or to keep the information to themselves.

As if reading their minds, they received a message from Vice Admiral Kaori.

"We should remain silent on this matter, continue to strengthen ourselves, and prepare to seize control of the Navy when the time is right, completely distancing ourselves from the World Government," Kaori stated indifferently as if this outcome was inevitable.

For Kaori, Evan's plans presented an opportunity. She was weary of the Navy being dictated by corrupt leaders. Moreover, she harbored a vendetta against those responsible for the destruction of her mother's homeland.

She was determined to seek revenge for Ohara.
