Chereads / Life As Hikigaya Hachiman / Chapter 61 - [61] The Girls' Bentos

Chapter 61 - [61] The Girls' Bentos

To be honest, as long as you can maintain a proper balance and not let things take a dark turn, the usual Kotonoha is a gentle and refined young lady, undoubtedly an excellent choice for a girlfriend.

"Alright, let's have breakfast quickly, or we'll be late."

"Okay, I got it. But, Onii-chan, you must do your best when the time comes..."

As they ate breakfast, Komachi continued to share her wisdom with Hachiman.

In short, the atmosphere at the Hikigaya household during breakfast was cheerful.

After finishing breakfast, Hachiman and Komachi left the house together. Although they didn't attend the same school, they had a part of their route they could walk together.

Just as the two of them reached the familiar fork in the road in front of their homes, a soft voice echoed in Hachiman's ears.

"Good morning, Hachiman-kun."

Hearing the voice, Hachiman turned to see Kotonoha standing exactly where they had parted ways yesterday, as if she had been waiting for them.

"Oh, Kotonoha. Good morning," Hachiman greeted the young girl with a smile.

"Hey, hey, Onii-chan, who's this beautiful sister?"

Seeing Kotonoha's lovely face, Komachi's eyes lit up.

"This is Katsura Kotonoha, a fellow member of the kendo club."

"Kotonoha, this little one is my sister, Komachi Hikigaya."

Hachiman introduced the two to each other.

Upon hearing that Komachi was Hachiman's sister, Kotonoha wore a gentle smile and approached her.

"Hello, Komachi-chan. I'm Katsura Kotonoha. Nice to meet you."

Observing Kotonoha from top to bottom, Komachi returned the smile.

Another beautiful sister, and with such a well-endowed figure, Onii-chan better step up his game.

"Hello, Kotonoha onee-chan! I'm Komachi Hikigaya. Please take care of my big, clumsy brother."

Upon hearing her sister's words, Hachiman facepalmed and gently scolded her, "No saying such things in front of Kotonoha."

"Stop hitting my head all the time; it'll make me dumb," Komachi protested while covering her head. She muttered under her breath, "And I wasn't saying anything wrong; you are a big dummy."

After reprimanding Komachi, Hachiman turned to Kotonoha and apologized, "I'm sorry if my sister's words bothered you, Kotonoha."

"It's okay, Hachiman-kun. I actually find Komachi-chan quite charming," Kotonoha replied. Hearing that Kotonoha found his sister cute, Hachiman smiled.

Yes, Komachi was indeed the most adorable sister in the world. But he couldn't make such a declaration of sisterly affection in front of Kotonoha.

"Even though she's cute, don't praise her too much, or she'll become arrogant," Hachiman warned with a smile.

"Ah, Onii-chan, you're hitting my head again. Fine, I'll go to school by myself."

Before she ran off, Komachi gave Hachiman a meaningful look.

Hachiman sighed inwardly. Seriously, was it necessary to change targets so quickly? You told me to go for Yui during breakfast, and now you're pushing me towards Kotonoha.

"Be careful and don't run too fast," Hachiman called after her as she gradually disappeared from view.

"I know, Onii-chan the Dummy," Komachi yelled back.

Soon, Komachi was out of sight.

"You must have had a good laugh, Kotonoha. My sister can be a bit crazy," Hachiman said to Kotonoha.

"Hehe, it's okay. Komachi-chan is just lively," Kotonoha replied with a soft chuckle.

Time was running short, and they were in danger of being late.

"Let's go; we should head to school," Hachiman suggested.

"Sure," Kotonoha agreed, moving gracefully to his side.

"Let's go, Hachiman."

As they walked past a familiar traffic light intersection, Hachiman noticed a pink-haired girl.

"Yui."

"Hi, Hikki. Good morning," Yui greeted him with a bright smile. However, when she saw Kotonoha standing beside him...

"Good morning, Katsura-san."

"Good morning, Yuigahama-san," Kotonoha greeted Yui with a smile, too.

"Oh, well, you see, Kotonoha lives not far from my place, so we happened to meet this morning," Hachiman explained to Yui, glancing at Kotonoha.

"I see..."

As Hachiman looked at the smiling girl by his side, Yui couldn't help but feel a slight sense of unease.

"Yui, why don't we go to school together too?" Hachiman naturally didn't want to exclude anyone and extended an invitation to Yui with a smile.

"Sure."

With Yui on the left and Kotonoha on the right, and Hachiman back in the game as a normie, the three of them walked together in harmony.

Yui and Kotonoha were both not particularly talkative, so the trio quietly made their way towards the school.

Upon reaching the school gate, Hachiman turned to look at the two.

"Alright, it's time to head to the classroom. Kotonoha, I'll see you at the club this afternoon."

"Yui, if you ever need any help, remember to contact me," Hikigaya said and waved to both of them before turning to walk towards the school gate.

"Wait, Hikki."

"Hachiman-kun, please wait a moment..."

Just as he was about to turn around, Kotonoha and Yui almost simultaneously spoke up.

"Hikki, this is a bento my mom made for you."

"This is a bento I made, Hachiman-kun, if you don't mind..."

Seeing the two bentos being offered to him at the same time, Hikigaya was momentarily stunned.

It wasn't just him; even Kotonoha and Yui were taken aback.

"Uh, K-Kotonoha..."

Yui looked at the bento box in Kotonoha's hand in disbelief.

"Is Yui too...thinking the same thing?" Kotonoha bit her lip while looking at the bento box in Yui's hand.

There were other students at the school gate, not just the three of them. Many male students, seeing two cute girls like Kotonoha and Yui giving a bento to the same guy, had somewhat begrudging expressions on their faces.

"Not fair"

"School just started not even a month ago, and he's already got two girls bringing him bentos, and they're so cute. I'm feeling so jealous..."

"I mean, I'm handsome too! Why doesn't anyone bring me bentos? I don't get it!"

"Hmph...whatever."
