Hanging a piece of grass from his mouth, Hidan set his eyes on a village in front of him.
He had a plan in mind: to conduct a grand sacrifice in this land. Following the purification path outlined by the sacrificial pattern, Hidan believed that the rewards obtained from the sacrifices would undoubtedly break through his strength to the level of a Kage.
Coupled with his undead characteristics and advantages, he would become even more powerful than the average Kage.
With the Scythe on his shoulder, Hidan strode forward, reaching the entrance of the village. There was no one guarding the entrance, unlike the villages he had sacrificed before, where people would attack him as soon as he approached.
Entering the village, Hidan noticed something strange about the entire village. Every house was tightly locked with doors and windows, as if everyone were sleeping at home at this time of the day, which seemed illogical.
Walking through the village streets, Hidan observed the houses around him. Every building was solidly constructed, with sunlight unable to penetrate the exterior. Even the windows were completely covered.
Intrigued by the mysterious village, Hidan became interested, wondering what secrets it held.
However, Hidan refrained from destroying the houses; instead, he walked around the village, circling the central square. Sitting in the village square, Hidan placed the Scythe directly into the ground, took a break, and yawned.
Soon, the day passed, and night began to fall.
With the arrival of night, the houses in the village lit up as if it were daytime. The villagers started turning on lights, as if they were waking up.
Stretching lazily, Hidan stood up from the ground, took the Scythe in his hands, and muttered to himself, "Time to get to work."
As villagers continued to walk out of their homes, Hidan raised an eyebrow. All of them were the targets Hidan needed to purify. As for why they woke up at night and rested during the day, Hidan didn't have the curiosity to investigate.
In the middle of the village, Hidan prepared to take action.
In a luxurious house, a person spoke, "Chief, there is an outsider in the village. He entered during the day and has been staying in the square until now."
The person addressed as the chief turned to the man in front of him and said, "Drive him away, make him leave the village."
"Do we need to..."
The man made a throat-slitting gesture.
"No need to complicate things. Just drive him away."
"We've finally escaped to this place. We don't want to expose ourselves. Once someone goes missing, and their family reports it, finding us here won't be good."
The man replied in an angry tone, "It's all because of Selene, the traitor, that our vampire clan suffered such heavy losses. Now only our branch is left."
The man referred to as the chief also showed a pained expression. After other branches were successively slaughtered, the chief of the African branch divided the entire clan in two.
More than half of the vampires stayed in the ancestral land, while he was appointed to the other small group as the chief and got sent here.
However, even the larger group that was left in the ancestral land, with more vampires, failed to escape their fate and were eliminated by Kakashi and his team of Genin.
"Drive him away. I believe he'll leave on his own."
"Yes, Chief!"
A group of vampires, wearing leather jackets and carrying submachine guns, emerged from the houses and headed straight to the central square.
Just as Hidan stood up, he saw a group of armed men approaching him.
"Leave here; we don't welcome outsiders."
Seeing Hidan's peculiar attire and the large scythe in his hand, the leading man tried to drive Hidan away.
Hidan smirked, saying, "Haha, perfect timing."
Swoosh!
Hidan threw the Scythe forward, turning it into a spinning wheel of death that directly cut through the leader in front of him.
The leader, who was speaking, had no chance to evade and was directly cut in half by the rotating Scythe. The thrown scythe's tail had a chain that, after the attack, flew back into Hidan's hand.
Having been cut into two halves, even though he was a vampire with regenerative abilities, the leader died instantly, unable to heal from such a fatal wound.
The other vampires behind him watched in horror as their leader was slain. Without hesitation, they immediately pulled the triggers of their submachine guns.
Rat-a-tat-tat-tat!
Countless bullets formed a storm of metal, shooting towards Hidan. He grinned and waved the Scythe, effortlessly deflecting all the bullets.
The gunfire didn't inflict the slightest harm on him. As the shots rang out, all the other vampires in the village rushed towards Hidan, wielding various weapons.
"Your attacks are over. Now it's my turn!"
Hidan excitedly wielded the Scythe; his figure moved like a ghost, charging towards the approaching vampires. He swung the scythe lightly, instantly decapitating six members of the vampire team.
Hidan's actions of cutting through them seemed instantaneous to the other vampires. The security team responsible for the village's safety was instantly wiped out.
Some vampires charged at Hidan, while another group screamed and ran towards the outside.
"Be obedient and become a sacrifice for the evil god!"
The chaos in the village was also noticed by the chief inside the house. He looked desperate and muttered, "Have we been found again?"
