Chapter 97 - Chapter 097: A Clever Woman Cannot Cook Without Rice

Ginny knew that the danger had not yet passed, so she didn't dwell on this matter for too long. However, she also felt a hint of crisis. Shizune was the second woman to appear by Charles's side besides herself.

Watching Charles, Sasuke, and Rock Lee discussing Shizune's situation, Ginny interrupted, "Boss, you just mentioned the Daredevil's master, the leader of the Chaste. What's going on?"

Hearing Ginny's sudden question, Charles turned to Sasuke and Rock Lee, saying, "We'll discuss Shizune's situation when we get back."

"Ginny, there were some things you might not know about."

"When Sasuke brought Madame Gao back, they encountered a guy named Daredevil who tried to stop them. He ended up being taken down by Rock Lee with just two punches."

"The old man you mentioned with a stick is Daredevil's master, and he's known as Stick. Just like Daredevil, he's also blind. He probably found out some information and came for revenge."

"As for the so-called Chaste, it's an organization created by Stick. They have a group of ninja members similar to the Hand."

Hearing Charles's explanation, Ginny now understood who the enemy was. She then suggested, "Boss, in the future, when we encounter such situations, it's best to eliminate both the younger and the older ones. Otherwise, they might take a cold shot at us, which would still be very dangerous."

Hearing Ginny's words, Charles Doyle felt a bit embarrassed but managed to smile. This was a question he couldn't answer straightforwardly.

However, he replied, "In the future, we'll keep in mind: 'If they don't move, let them be. If they move, eliminate them.' This time, we'll exterminate the Chaste and Stick."

"The Chaste? They seem truly foolish."

Hearing Charles's words, Ginny didn't dwell on it further and asked, "Boss, what should we do next?"

"If we keep waiting like this, the poison gas will eventually reach us. By then, it might..."

Ginny didn't finish her sentence, but the meaning was clear. They were trapped underground, and as long as the concentration of poison gas didn't weaken, they were in grave danger.

At this moment, not only Ginny but also the twenty high table members who had run back were eagerly looking at Charles Doyle, hoping to hear some hope of survival. After all, nobody wanted to die in such a suffocating manner.

Charles Doyle wore a confident smile on his face as he calmly said, "Don't worry, everyone. Let's wait for Shizune's report when she returns to see what information she has."

"As for getting out of here, I already have a plan in mind."

Seeing Charles Doyle's unwavering confidence, Ginny decided not to press further and instead went to speak with Rock Lee and Sasuke about Shizune's situation.

Since there was no immediate life-threatening danger, Ginny placed a significant emphasis on this woman who had suddenly appeared. She was especially intrigued by the mention of jounin and a medical ninja.

Unfortunately, Rock Lee and Sasuke, like Ginny, had no information about Shizune. However, they did explain the ranks of ninja—genin, chunin, jounin, and medical ninja—to Ginny.

Just these pieces of information caused Ginny's inner world to tremble. Particularly when she learned that Sasuke and Rock Lee were genin, it elevated her perception of Shizune's strength to new heights.

In Ginny's eyes, a medical ninja equated to a doctor. She was unaware that Shizune was skilled in being a secretary as well.

······

Just as they were chatting, the passage echoed with some stumbling footsteps, immediately putting everyone on high alert.

Shizune returned, supporting several high table members who had been affected by the poison gas.

Others rushed forward to help them. Shizune approached Charles and said, "I've just checked over there. The poison gas's effect on us isn't significant. With our strength, we can hold our breath and rush out."

As she spoke, Shizune looked towards Sasuke and Rock Lee, both of whom had Konoha headbands. It was clear she meant that the poison gas wasn't too dangerous for them.

She continued, "Right now, I don't have any tools or herbs to prepare antidotes and gas diluents for everyone. The ones I brought back weren't deeply poisoned, and after my simple treatment, they should be fine. As for the others, they've already succumbed."

Hearing that the others had already died, Ginny and the remaining high table members felt a sense of sorrow. These were their comrades, and they hadn't perished in a hail of bullets but due to the enemy's poison gas attack.

After listening to Shizune's report, several solutions came to Charles's mind. One was for the four of them to charge out first, eliminate Stick and his group, and then carry each of their comrades out one by one through the underground passage.

If they were fast enough and killed everyone before the poison gas spread, they could still save Ginny and the others. However, there was a slight risk involved—the speed at which the poison gas spread.

The other solution was to use Charles's summoning jutsu. He contemplated his surroundings—the mud above and his subordinates by his side. He decided that it was better to try to save them all.

"Shizune, thank you. I already have a plan."

Charles Doyle then entered the deep pit where the dragon bone had been taken. He pricked his finger and formed hand seals, invoking the Summoning Jutsu.

In the next moment, Aoda, who had been resting in the summoning realm, was summoned.

The hundred-meter-long blue serpent looked cramped in the deep pit as it coiled its body, revealing a massive head. It spoke, "Lord Charles, what are your orders?"

Seeing Charles Doyle summon such a huge snake, Ginny and the others were no longer surprised.

They had experienced too much in just one day and had expanded their horizons. They had already become accustomed to such extraordinary sights. If it weren't for their trembling legs, which had betrayed them, they would have faced this calmly.

Shizune, on the other hand, was surprised and asked, "You...are you the inheritor of the Ryuchi Cave?"

Charles Doyle glanced at Shizune and realized that she probably hadn't had a chance to check the information the system had provided her. He said, "Shizune, later take a look at the additional information in your mind, and everything will become clear."

"Aoda, do you see the earth above us? I need you to directly create a path to the surface, and then lead my subordinates out of here."

Aoda lightly bumped the earth above with its head and replied, "No problem, Lord Charles."
