Chapter 546 - Chapter 545: Wishing You a Happy Life

"This company's first Life-1 space probe has just crashed, and its stock price will drop during this period."

"However, the company's CEO will definitely use various methods such as media to boast about their mission to stabilize the stock price."

Charles talked about some of the issues the Life Foundation would face in the future, including using homeless people for research, resulting in numerous deaths, and other issues.

Once Ginny understood the problem, she said, "Boss, I understand."

"I'll make arrangements in advance, and when the time comes, we'll swallow up the company in one fell swoop."

"And we won't give them a chance to stabilize their stock price."

Charles nodded, "Very well, I trust you with this matter."

On the other side-

As night fell, Eddie Brock and his lawyer girlfriend, Anne Weying, were on a date at a bar. During their conversation, Eddie complained about his boss sending him to interview this scam, Drake.

During their conversation, Eddie learned that Anne had taken on a case related to the Life Foundation.

After returning to Anne's home, they spent some intimate moments together. In the middle of the night, after Anne fell asleep, Eddie, who woke up to drink water, noticed the computer on the table that hadn't been turned off and began to contemplate.

After a few seconds of thought, Eddie entered the password for the laptop and opened it.

Upon opening the computer, the previously unclosed files were displayed, (Life Foundation Legal Memorandum - Confidential)

(Dear Ms. Weying, 'Attached is a case summary for your reference') (Please feel free to contact me if you have any further requirements, thank you) (Mr. Lytton's 'Assistant Attorney' Life Foundation Legal Memorandum)

Eddie looked at the attachments on the document and then clicked to view them. He saw that the attachment was labeled (Life Foundation Abnormal Death Claim Case No. 02-93), and the document indicated that many of the scientific experiment volunteers were impoverished individuals.

The document also listed the volunteered projects and the names of the deceased, with a note indicating that no reports should be made.

After reading through this information, Eddie memorized the main details and then restored the computer to its previous state before returning to bed to continue sleeping.

The next day-

Eddie boarded a plane with his entire interview team and arrived in San Francisco to interview Carlton Drake, the founder of the Life Foundation.

At the headquarters of the Life Foundation, Carlton Drake, the founder, was speaking to a group of elementary school students about his company's vision and inventions.

At that moment, Dr. Skirth walked over and said, "Sorry to interrupt you."

Then, addressing Carlton Drake, she said, "You should go change your clothes and get ready for the interview."

Upon hearing about the arrival of the interview team, Carlton Drake showed a slight smile, "Alright, kids, sorry for leaving you."

"See you next time, kids!"

After giving a few instructions, Carlton Drake bid farewell to the children and changed his clothes to prepare for Eddie's interview.

In the corridor of the Life Foundation building-

With a photographer and an assistant in tow, Eddie began his interview with Carlton Drake.

Standing next to Drake, Eddie started his interview by saying, "You researched a new gene therapy at the age of nineteen, which could extend the life expectancy of pancreatic cancer patients by one-fold, right?"

Carlton Drake smiled and said, "Actually, it extends life expectancy by two-fold."

Eddie noted this down and continued his questioning under the camera's lens, "Alright, at the age of twenty-four, you, at such a young age, founded the entire Life Foundation."

Eddie opened his arms, indicating that the Life Foundation was a huge enterprise.

Carlton Drake explained, "Actually, there was a lot of preliminary preparation."

Eddie continued, "And then you spared no expense to invest in rockets, sending them into space to explore its mysteries, right?"

When Eddie mentioned rockets, Carlton Drake became interested and said, "To be honest, I've always believed that exploring the universe is crucial. It can even solve various problems on Earth."

Curious, Eddie asked, "How so?"

"This issue can be thought of like this: after the ocean and land, we should set our sights on the universe because there are plenty of undeveloped resources there."

However, Eddie changed the subject, saying, "In my opinion, your pharmaceutical company already has plenty of undeveloped resources."

"These are all part of your grand plan, right?"

Carlton Drake nodded, "Of course, it's all about fund circulation. After all, launching rockets and exploring space require financial support."

After thinking for a moment, Eddie, remembering the information he saw last night, asked, "What's the specific operation mechanism of your Life Foundation?"

"For example, how do you arrange for people to test new drugs?"

Upon hearing Eddie's question, the female assistant beside them immediately interjected, "Eddie, be careful not to deviate from the main topic."

Eddie glanced at the female assistant and continued, "I'm not deviating from the main topic. What I want to ask is about the accusations against you."

However, Carlton Drake refused to answer, saying, "Sorry, no comment."

"Some people say that your business empire is built on the souls and bodies of the deceased."

The assistant continued to intervene, but Eddie didn't give up and continued, "Some people say you specifically recruit homeless people to participate in medical experiments, which could be life-threatening."

Carlton Drake began to explain, "I know there are rumors online, and fake news is everywhere these days."

Eddie persisted, "Alright, what about the lawsuits against your company?"

Carlton Drake was surprised, "What?"

"I mean the deaths of those people, Sara Chambers, Philip Barkley, Robert McDonald."

Seeing that Eddie indeed knew something and was leading towards an unfavorable direction, Carlton Drake immediately made a gesture to the security personnel beside him.

The security personnel immediately approached and began to prevent the camera from filming. Carlton Drake then said, "I'm glad you could come for the interview today, Mr. Eddie, but I have some other matters to attend to."

"I need to deal with this, so I won't keep you entertained."

"The interview ends here."

Despite this, Eddie continued asking questions, accusing the company of letting people enter but not leave, while security personnel were escorting the three of them out of the building.

Looking at Carlton Drake nearby, Eddie said, "I'll be back for another interview."

Carlton Drake looked at Eddie and said, "No, the interview is over, Mr. Brock!"

Eddie looked at him and smiled, saying, "Are you threatening me?"

Carlton Drake looked at Eddie, extended his hand in a gesture of farewell, and said, "I wish you a lifetime of happiness."

After seeing Eddie and his group being escorted out of the building, Carlton Drake immediately called his chief secretary and said:

"Inform the Daily Globe that if they don't want to go bankrupt, then fire the journalist named Eddie Brock."

"Inform all the media that I don't want him to have any chance of working in the media industry again. I want to completely blacklist him in this industry."

"Anyone who accepts Eddie Brock will be opposing my Life Foundation."

"I want him to live in regret and remorse for the rest of his life."

Carlton Drake paused for a moment, then continued, "Find out how he got the information about those people and the lawsuit."

"The person who leaked this information will also pay the price."

The chief secretary nodded, "Yes, boss!"

Meanwhile, on the other side, Eddie returned to his company after the failed interview, boarding a plane.

In the office of his boss, Barney Bushkin, Eddie explained, "I know what you want to say, but Drake's waters run deep. He's absolutely corrupt, Barney. If I can dig deep enough, I can definitely create a new hot topic, maybe even bigger than before."

Barney Bushkin looked at Eddie with indifference and asked, "Where did you get the information?"

Eddie was surprised, "What do you mean?"

He knew his boss never asked him about these things before; all he cared about were hot topics, sales, and clicks.

Barney Bushkin continued, "Who's your informant, Eddie?"

Leaning back in his chair, Eddie stroked his beard and looked at his boss, knowing he couldn't reveal his girlfriend's information, as it would harm her. So, he said, "I don't have a specific informant, but I have a gut feeling."

Barney Bushkin interrupted, "Do you think you're a cowboy in the Wild West?"

"We can't make conclusions based solely on intuition. We need to investigate on the ground and present specific evidence to support the accusations."

"Although you're smart, you're incredibly stupid on critical issues."

Then Barney Bushkin stood up, turned to look outside, and said, "You're fired. I can't trust you."

"Wish you a lifetime of happiness."

Upon hearing these familiar words, Eddie immediately realized what was happening. This was Carlton Drake's doing. He also regretted his stupidity for not being adequately prepared before asking those questions.

Eddie asked himself in his heart, "Could it be because I interviewed Charles Doyle, have I become arrogant?"

Without lingering in the office, Eddie completed the resignation procedures and headed straight to his girlfriend's company. He knew he had obtained information from his girlfriend's computer and wasn't sure if it would affect her.

On the other side-

Ginny brought together the families of Sarah Chambers, Phillip Buckley, and Robert McDonald and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, your family members died in the Life Foundation's drug experiment."

"There were many problems with this experiment."

"And these problems can lead to substantial compensation for you."

Sarah Chambers' relative spoke up, "Ms. Ginny, the Life Foundation wants to reach a settlement with us. As long as we agree, they promise to pay $100,000 in compensation, and Sarah had signed a contract with them."

"The Foundation's legal team also informed us that if we don't agree to a settlement, they won't offer any compensation. They'll even drag us through a lawsuit without giving any compensation."

As Sarah Chambers' family member spoke, the other two families nodded in agreement.

Ginny smiled and said, "You don't need to worry about the lawsuit. I will hire the most professional legal team from Baker McKenzie Law Firm for you to handle this lawsuit."

"And you don't have to pay the legal fees. Based on past successful cases, this compensation will not be less than one million dollars. If there were any fraudulent or intentional nondisclosure issues during the contract signing process, the amount could even reach tens of millions of dollars."

"And I believe that this medical accident doesn't only involve the three of you. If more people are involved, the effect will be even better."

"This is beneficial to you without causing any harm."

The three relatives of the deceased experiment subjects dared to sue the Life Foundation because they knew a bit about the law and knew Ginny's words weren't false.

Especially when they heard about the million or even tens of millions of dollars in compensation and that Ginny would hire a top law firm for them, they all smiled.

One of the relatives asked, "Ms. Ginny, why are you helping us like this?"

The other people all showed sinister smiles. As long as someone stood up for them and they didn't have to spend money, they didn't care about the reasons behind it.

But Ginny said seriously, "I can't accept that someone would recklessly harm lives. Innocent people shouldn't have their lives taken away by others."

"I don't agree with such things, and neither would the Ninja Immortal nor Iron Man."

Hearing Ginny's words, everyone seemed pensive but showed excited expressions, "Thank you, Ms. Ginny, for standing up for justice for us. Please give thanks to the Ninja Immortal and Iron Man!"

On the other side-

Eddie had already arrived at the entrance of his girlfriend's law firm, waiting for her to finish work.

Soon, Eddie saw his girlfriend Annie coming out holding a cardboard box.

"Hi!"

Annie had just stepped out of the gate and saw Eddie riding a motorcycle, waiting for her. She angrily said, "Your self-centeredness has reached a pathological level. All you care about is getting attention from others."

After saying a few words, Annie walked to the side. Seeing this, Eddie hurriedly followed her and explained, "Annie, please listen to me."

Annie continued, "And you're so stubborn, but I can accept all of these."

"Because I loved you."

Surprised by his girlfriend's angry words, Eddie asked, "Loved me? What do you mean?"

Annie stopped and looked at the man in front of her. She let go of her hands, dropped the cardboard box she was holding to the ground, and said coldly, "You used me. You got me fired."

Annie took off Eddie's engagement ring from her finger and put it in the pocket of his shirt, then patted his chest and picked up the cardboard box before turning away.

Eddie, taken aback by this sudden turn of events, stood in place and called out, "Annie~ Annie~"
