Chapter 256 - Chapter 256: Campus Bullying

On the other side-

After leaving Charles Agency, Balthazar drove to his once-mysterious cottage.

Looking at what used to be his house, now transformed into an electronic mall, Balthazar parked his car on the side of the road and walked inside.

Upon entering, he noticed that although the items and furnishings had changed, the building itself was still the same. He went straight to the place where he used to hide his belongings.

Beside the stairs, Balthazar waved his hands, and the brick wall that had been built quickly turned into a door. He opened the door, revealing a small storage room inside with a package.

Balthazar took out the package, opened it, and retrieved a piece of parchment. On it was recorded a magic spell that explained how to kill one of the two souls within a body without harming the other—a spell Balthazar had yet to successfully master.

After glancing at the parchment, Balthazar put it back in the package and took out a small cloth bag. Inside the bag was a necklace.

Balthazar looked at the necklace, reminiscing about his lover. He then put it in his pocket and returned the package to its original place, proceeding to cast a magic seal.

...

The morning quickly passed.

After having lunch with Becky, David said, "Today's learning stops here. Next, I'll take you to see an interesting place."

David then brought Becky to his laboratory.

In the laboratory, David began connecting the circuits for the Tesla coil and began explaining, "I want to show you something."

Becky looked at the emissions in the laboratory and asked curiously, "What is all this?"

While preparing, David said, "These are Tesla coils."

"Using them can generate so-called plasma."

"The problem is, I used to focus too much on their technical characteristics and didn't realize how beautiful they are!"

Soon, David finished his preparations and entered the central area of the laboratory where a cage was placed, a safe zone isolating plasma.

David opened the door of the cage and stood inside, saying to Becky, "I hope you can enter my cage."

Hearing David's invitation, Becky smiled and said, "Sure, this is the first time someone has said such a thing to me."

She then entered the iron cage and stood next to David.

David closed the iron door and said, "This is not strange."

"Please firmly hold onto this crossbar with both hands."

"Okay!"

Seeing Becky follow his instructions, David turned off the laboratory lights and tapped a few times on the computer.

"Alright, stand firm. The show begins now."

As David spoke, several plasma lightning bolts appeared in the laboratory, striking toward the two inside the Faraday cage.

Because both were inside the cage, it was entirely safe, with no danger whatsoever.

The sudden appearance of lightning startled Becky.

She then exclaimed while marveling at the spectacle, "Oh my God!"

Becky looked at David with admiration and asked, "How did you do that?"

"The coil operates under high-frequency conditions, sparks are produced, and when they pass through the air, they make a sound. It sounds a bit dull."

Becky, looking at everything in front of her, was full of curiosity, but soon the erratic plasma lightning stopped.

At this point, David quietly tapped on the keyboard a few times, and the next moment, the frequency of the plasma sparks changed, as if playing a musical tune.

After listening for a few seconds, Becky also caught on and immediately exclaimed excitedly to David, "You've been listening to the radio."

"I played this song the other night."

David didn't directly answer Becky's question but instead said, "These coils are like my life. I've been accompanying them here for two years."

"They play beautiful music, but I never paid attention, never thought about appreciating it."

"Until I met you."

"I heard you discussing music topics on the show, and I..."

Listening to David's words, Becky's face lit up with a happy smile.

After experiencing the wonderful Tesla coil music, the two left the laboratory.

David escorted Becky back to New York University, and they arrived at the school's sports facility.

Becky came to the entrance of the yoga room and looked at David, saying, "I'm going in."

Seeing Becky about to leave, David said, "Can we meet again?"

"I mean later, at 8 o'clock, in my laboratory."

Receiving David's invitation, Becky happily agreed, saying, "Sure, sure, that's great."

David asked, "With me?"

Becky smiled and said, "With you, of course."

"It's a deal."

Becky waved and said, "Yoga is about to start."

David also waved goodbye, saying, "Alright, I need to go to the bathroom."

After saying that, he ran towards the direction of the restroom.

Entering the restroom, David hummed a song excitedly while relieving himself, "I have a date with a girl because I look handsome."

"My heart is singing."

...

At this time, Drake walked into the restroom and said, "So, it's you!"

Hearing the voice beside him, David, still pulling up his zipper, asked in confusion, "Uh, sorry."

"Are you Balthazar's new apprentice?"

"No matter how you look at it, you don't seem like someone learning magic."

Looking at the man coming towards him, David was puzzled, "Who are you? Do you know my master?"

Drake smiled, "Alright, don't be nervous."

Then Drake lightly kicked his foot to the side, and all the urinals and toilets in the restroom started flushing automatically.

David, still confused, asked, "What is this?"

With a hint of excitement on his face, Drake said, "This way no one can hear your crying."

David looked at the man in front of him, extending one hand and said, "I... I really don't know who you are."

Hearing this answer, Drake's expression suddenly changed, and his voice carried a hint of anger, "What? You don't know me?"

David looked at the man's attire, puzzled, "Are you from some fashion band?"

Drake angrily grabbed David's shirt and pulled him against the wall. Then, using both arms, he lifted David into the air and pinned him to the wall.

"How much do you weigh?"

Hearing the sudden question, David instinctively replied, "160 pounds."

Drake released his hands, and David remained fixed in mid-air.

David looked at the man turning away and taking two steps. Then, with a helpless expression, he spread his hands and said, "Why does this feel like going back to middle school?"
