Already midnight and both Luffy and Luke started to rest. They were planning to start the next day on training.
Luffy was fast asleep in a nearby wood plank while Luke was on the seaside cliff, gazing at the vast horizon.
His power enables him to stay up for how long he wanted. Even eating and drinking is also optional. He can stay at the peak condition without eating and drinking for years and he knew this kind of perks.
"I need to learn Haki soon. The upcoming great battle is of great importance to my.." Luke paused as he sensed someone approaching to his direction real fast. The approaching shadow didn't gave Luke a chance to dodge as it grabbed the back of his neck and both of them disappeared the place.
Luke helplessly get dragged while the shadow used Geppo to travel above the seas. Their direction is the nearby open inhabited island. The island was full of rocks with an estimated diameter of more than five kilometers wide.
He can actually escape the hold but decided not to. That's because the one holding him was none other than Garp, grandfather of Luffy.
Garp remained silent along the way as if he was strolling around, but Luke could see some bulging nerves on his forehead, indicating he was in trouble with the old man.
Boom!
Luke got flung and he landed with a bang but he stood his ground as if he wasn't bothered by the impact. He stood silently facing Garp. He also noticed someone at the edge of the island, it was Killer Bee who seems to be a bystander and expected their arrival.
"You played me well, boy. What's your real motive for approaching my grandson?" Garp started as he glared at Luke sharply. His fist gradually tightened as if he couldn't wait to pulvurize Luke on the spot.
"What do you mean, Sir? You should know your grandson approached me first." Luke didn't back down as if he wasn't in the wrong in the first place.
"Don't give me that nonsense! You showed your power to entice my grandson. And that idiot easily fell for the trap, but not me. When my grandson invited you to be a pirate, you practically accepted it without resistance as if you expected that scene to happen. Tell me now before you regret being born in this life." Garp said with ominous threat. He wasn't kidding this time and his nonchalant behavior disappeared. He could tell that Luke was a sketchy brat and mysterious attitude closely resembles to that Red-Haired punk he hated most.
"First, I was doing my training at that time. I just got my power and tested it out of excitement. Second, I joined Luffy with sincere attitude wether it's intentional or not. I will never, ever betray his trust on me. Lastly.." Luke's narrowed his glowing eyes as if his aura changed to a dangerous one. He continued,
"Stay away from us. I can protect and guide him better than you do."
"Why you..!"
As if being triggered, Garp dashed forward and punched Luke without holding back. His fist was coated in haki while dark lightnings appeared around him from time to time.
BOOOM!!!
"Damn! This old man is mad yo! He's going for the kill!" Killer Bee commented on the side while being affected by the pressure shockwave of the attack. Dark lightning sparks filled the small island while having continuous earthquake.
"Wait a minute! Luke is.. fighting back!" Killer Bee saw a scene that made him shocked.
Luke stood still while his hand was catching Garp's powerful punch with ease. The more bizarre thing is that, both parties never touched their hands as if a pressure was forming in between.
"You have power like this too...?" Garp who still in flabbergasted state, asked subconsciously. The power of Luke released was different from Haki. What surprised him is that, a colleague from headquarters had a similar power of Luke. A power that can manipulate any form of matters, even living humans like him.
Vice-Admiral of the marine headquarters, Tatsumaki.
"I don't know what you're talking about old man. But this fight is just getting started." Luke was confused but after all, the One Piece world is now different from the original. Powerful characters from other stories invaded this story, God knows whom the old man was talking about.
Luke's gleaming crimson eyes narrowed and the small island suddenly changed. The island suddenly got covered by red-like dome that made both Garp and Killer Bee shivered.
"My blood- My whole body... is shaking! I-Is this his awakening? My goodness! Who is this guy?!" Killer Bee shouted in disbelief. Who would blame him? Luke just ate a devil fruit a day ago and he can already perform it's awakening.
"Blood..?" Garp distanced himself from Luke as he examined the whole island being covered by blood. He could feel the threat all over the place as if the guy in front of him is omnipotent within the space.
"Wahahaha! Good! Very good! You are indeed something, boy. But to venture the vast sea, this trick of yours is not enough to scare those hidden monsters out there." Garp laughed out loud. His eyes were shining bright. He now saw Luke in a new light.
"Prepare yourself!"
Boom!
Like a sonic speed, Garp instantly arrived at Luke then hurled his fist forward.
"I know. But there will be a day that all of them shall see us in reverence and respect. I believe in my captain's ambition." Luke stretched his hand forward.
Garp's movement halted and his body suddenly engulfed by blood tendrils. He tried to cut the strings by waving his arm, but another blood tendrils formed and got enforced in an instant.
"What kind of blood are these? They're pulsing and really hard!" Garp got annoyed and got no choice but to distance himself again, forcefully escaping the entanglement.
"Hmph! Childish dream! This is my last warning, brat! Leave my grandson alone and I'll let you off." Garp knew that as long as he was in this strange domain, he will have a hard time moving around. He straighten his posture then punched the air real hard.
Crackle! BOOOM!!
A wave of energy blasted towards Luke in a straightforward manner. It's might is enough to flatten a small hill with ease.
'Freaking old man knows how to use energy wave like Kaido and Big Mom!' Luke took a deep breath.
Luke dodged to the side and the energy wave slammed to the blood domain wall making the suppressing air inside lessen quite a bit.
BANG!!
"Oh? So this trick of yours showed it's weakness." Garp grinned then both of his fist charged up with new wave of energy.
"Tsk! This old man is annoying." Luke muttered then waved his hand.
Garp saw Luke's gesture then he changed his position. He's now preparing to punch a new energy wave on random direction. As long as his attack clashes the wall, then the blood field will vanish.
"Not so fast, old man." Luke appeared behind Garp and he punched hard. He wasn't like the original holder of his power, Raizel, who only knows how to show fancy moves.
He has many ideas on how to utilize such a wonderful power. Instead of being a punching bag, he will be as versatile as possible.
"Wahahaha! Bring it brat!" Garp flipped mid-air and punched back.
BOOOOM!! Crackle!!
Both of them stayed in the air while their fist were clashing. The heavy pressure of the clash sent shockwaves all over the island. Various sizes of stones blasted in every direction.
"Again!" Garp grinned while his old battle experience kicked in. His vigor rose up as if he got injected by stimulant.
"Ugh.. This monster." Luke gritted his teeth. Garp really gave him so much pressure. Even in their exchange, he was slowly getting pushed back.
Boom! Booom! Booooom! BOOOOOM!
...
In the distance, Killer Bee watched the battle in awe. Both fighters appeared in every corner of the island. Every clash left a huge hole on the ground even though they are punching mid-air.
"Say Gyuki (Eight Tails name), do ya think Luke was pulling his punches on me earlier?" Killer Bee asked.
"See for yourself." Gyuki replied in a blunt tone.
"Then do ya think I can win against him if I go all out?" Killer Bee knew the answer, but he could not believe it. What kind of person would improve so much in just a day?
"Look again. I think Luke is pulling his punches on Garp. He looks suppressed in our perspective. However, if you think carefully, he never revealed the true nature of his power." Gyuki said in a serious tone.
"You mean... He's trying not to hurt Garp by using his devil fruit ability, that blood ability?" Killer Bee recalled the part where Luke only restrained Garp with blood tendrils.
"Exactly. I think Luke's hidden power relies on that blood ability. I can't form a conclusion yet, but I think that's the case." Gyuki replied.
Killer Bee stayed silent as he watched the clashed that's about to reach the peak.
...
Ten minutes past...
BOOOOM!!! RUMBLE!!!
Luke and Garp clashed one last time. Their final clash made the whole island collapse due to sheer pressure and it crumbled into countless of pieces.
"Not bad! Not bad!! Wahahaha! I hadn't got so much fun in a long time!" Garp laughed out loud. The fight only made a single bead of sweat in his forehead.
Luke stood on a floating rock as he deactivates the blood field and surveyed the mess they made and let out a wry smile. His face was a bit pale, but overall he was fine. However, if the battle continues, he will have no choice but to evade over and over.
"I'm going back to rest. You too kid." Garp stretched his body and used Geppo to return to the Windmill Village.
"Remember your promise, kid."
Luke heard Garp's last word and smiled. He knew Garp gave him the permission.
"Thank you, Sir. I won't let you down."
...
"That is.. one hell of a fight." Killer Bee jumped nearby and commented.
"Yeah.. That old man played me instead, thanks to you." Luke grumbled. He somehow guessed that Killer Bee sold his details to Garp.
"I've no choice. If that old man knows my origin, there will be a huge problem to face in my organization." Killer Bee raised both his hands to surrender.
"Fine. Man I'm tired." Luke sat down to rest.
"Say, Luke. I'm quite bothered about one thing." Killer Bee also sat down.
"What is it?"
"You told me before about this big mission. At first I thought it was just a nonsense talk or something, or is it?" Killer Bee probed.
"Oh yeah. You need to help me with this mission. However, this mission will only begin after six months. Are you really sure to hear it now?" Luke squinted his eyes at Killer Bee who suddenly hit by unease.
"Yes. Since I decided to help, why not say it now in order for me to prepare." Killer Bee seriously nodded.
"Nothing much." Luke smirked. His eyes glowed as he stared at a distance.
"We only just need to kill.."
"..an Emperor."
