"The rumours were right! This full moon is one of the best moments in the history. " The old woman said, joining her hands to pray the Moon and it's powers. Soon, everyone offered a prayer to the Moon asking for luck and prosperity.
It was a clear night in the city, and the streets were filled with people who had come out to witness a rare phenomenon: the brightest full moon in a century. The moon was so bright that it cast a silver glow over the buildings, cars, and trees, making everything look magical. People stopped their usual activities and gazed at the sky in awe, taking pictures, pointing, and exclaiming. Some even danced and sang under the moonlight, feeling a surge of joy and wonder.
The city was alive with excitement and curiosity, as everyone wanted to see the moon up close. Some people climbed to the rooftops of their apartments, some went to the nearest park or bridge, and some drove to the outskirts of the city, where the view was clearer. The moon seemed to smile at them, inviting them to join its celebration.
The moon was not only bright, but also beautiful. It had a rich golden hue, with hints of red and orange. It looked like a giant lantern, or a ball of fire, or a ripe fruit. It was so big that it almost filled the horizon, making the stars look dim in comparison.
"This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my entire life! "
Someone exclaimed loudly and everyone cheered as the cameras from the famous media channels recorded their excitement. The best part of the city was that it was located in the middle of woods and perfectly secured from all directions. Mountains in the North, Sea in the South, Deep Woods in the East and a path full of carnivores in the West.
People from other parts of the works thought the city was behind every technology and lived a tribal life with weird customs. But as they say, little information is harmful and it was the exact case of the Zynthia City. They had schools where they learnt how to survive the harsh natures and geography, hospitals where they used natural herbs and workplaces where all the citizens worked for just one man- Mr. Donovan Knight, the business tycoon who owned the city.
But not everyone was living the moment, Korra, the twenty one year old maid of Mr. Donovan's wife, was rubbing and polishing the bathroom tiles of their luxurious bathroom. She wasn't so daring to even go out and get a look because the aftermath would be painful for her...
Her eyes widened when she saw the bright light outside, making her believe that it was broad daylight for a moment. She wiped the glass windows with the cleanser and complimented the beauty of the nature.
Korra wanted nothing but freedom. She was a low paying maid for the Donovan's family and she was sure some parts of world might refer to her as a slave. But she didn't have any other option, after all, where would she go?
She was found by some old woman in the outskirts of the city, with no trace of her parents. The people believed that her parents might be killed by the savages and she escaped.
"What are you doing? Weren't you told to serve Mrs. Donovan wine? "
Korra jumped when the cruel voice of the head maid, Mellisa, screamed at her.
"I was about to just get her the drinks. " She knew not to argue because fighting for yourself put her in the perfect position to be slapped down and she didn't want any more troubles.
She immediately washed her hands and with her head stuck to the floor, she nearly ran out to the kitchen. Upon arranging the bottle and glasses, she made her way to the people sitting on their expensive porch watching and capturing the Moon.
Moon! She was dumbfounded by the mere sight. Something in her wanted to jump out and scream as the silver rays hit her face.
"Are you glued to the floor? " Mrs. Donovan screamed, " These maids! They need a good punishment sometimes. "
Korra quickly served them the glasses and was about to retrieve back to her kitchen when someone caught her wrist. Confused and scared, she raised her head and found a stranger smirking down at her.
"Fu*k! You have violet eyes. " He whispered to her, still not taking his eyes off her.
She grew nervous and the angry face of Catherine Donovan, the arrogant daughter of Mr. Donovan, terrified her.
"Oh, Henry. She has some illness. " She said and the man, henry, removed his gaze from her.
This gave Korra a chance to escape and she walked back to the mansion. Her heart was still thundering against her chest as she exhaled two deep breaths.
"I just want to get away from these people. " She prayed to the Moon hoping the magical rays would grant her wish.
Her eyes were still stuck to the beautiful sight as she began creating her imaginations about it.
What if the people who lived on Moon were watching Earth too?
Korra was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't listen to the closing of the door behind her until a pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist catching her off guard.
She turned around frantically and found the same man who caught her hand a while ago.
"What are you doing, sir? " She asked in her sweet voice.
The man chuckled and played with her earlobe, " Making love to you. "
Korra gulped down the saliva forming in her throat, " Please let me go. "
"Shut up! " Suddenly, he grew meaner and pushed her on the floor.
Before she could get up, he was hovering above her and pinned her hands to the floor. He squeezed her waist and unbuttoned her shirt while his knee kept her legs open. She banged on his back and fisted his hair but this earned her a slap on her cheek.
"I am going to make you feel so good. Stop fighting me! " He threatened her with a punch.
Her eyes were about to close when they heard loud explosions outside and horrified screams of people running in the mansion. Henry got up from her trembling body and stood up to inspect the matter.
Just as he unlocked the window, a huge wolf, jumped on him, tacking him to the floor. Without a pause, he tore off his neck and howled into the air. The scary wolf gave her a weird sort of comfort. She was mesmerized by the magnificent sight. The wolf stared at her and reached her soul with the penetrative gaze.
Korra closed her eyes as she saw her death reaching her with predatory steps but the wolf instead of killing her jumped over and attacked the men behind her.
She got up on her feet and made her escape to the balcony to jump out of the attacked mansion.
Her feet froze when she saw thousands of wolves killing and attacking the people. They were everywhere! And had control over the city as she saw one of the largest black wolf had Mr. Donovan's head in his mouth as victory sign.
The wolf watched her and growled at her. He sniffed into the air and made her way to where she was standing.
Korra knew she had to run and she did!
